I came here for the first time. It was a random decision. My friend was in the mood for tacos and he discovered this location. We stopped by in a Monday evening. The service was super pleasant. The server was able to explain the menu to us and help us decide what to eat. It was pretty quiet I guess because it was a Monday. Now, on to the food! It was fresh and so good! Since I'm pescatarian I went with the fish tacos and hands down one of the best fish tacos I've had in a while. My friend also had the fish tacos, shrimp and the avocado tostada. The service here is great! Everyone is very friendly. We were in a bit of a rush and they allowed me to pay in advance on their portable POS. Tacombi's are all casual dining, but the Miami Design District has slightly better seating and a great layout for photos. The birria taco will always be the best. I think two is more than enough food. I'd recommend one and a regular taco since they are far more filling. I'm There's more than enough dipping sauce for one. I thought the Al pastor was a little dry, but nothing some guac couldn't fix. The chicken tinga had chopped carrots and a dressing slightly similar to ranch. It's an experiment in flavors. The ambiance and service was great this restaurant has a limited menu and that was fine until everything they offered was spicy. I was disappointed in that even the guacamole. This is my second time visiting this location & both times I've enjoyed the food. There are a few places in the Design District that you can order a few items along w/a drink & dessert for $26 (tax & tip included) when split amongst a party of three. Service was very attentive & patient with our group as we tried to make a selection of what to eat. Location is close by a public parking & many street parking options. So it is easily accessible. Tacombi always hits the spot! I thought I had already reviewed them, but apparently not! Yummy, delicious tacos. My fave is the shrimp one because the sauce it comes with is to die for. I have pretty much have had almost all their tacos and I have zero complaints. They're all very good. This past time my friend got the queso masa crunch, which I tried and absolutely loved! We were able to snag the only high top left without a wait. (Not the most comfortable place to sit and eat. The stools are an odd height for the table, making it for an uncomfortable dining experience.) Nonetheless, we ordered our drinks and food. For a starter I ordered the esquites. I love classic takes. The interior gives you an old fashioned taco stand aesthetic. It's Art Basel so the crowd was pretty steady but not chaotic. We still had to wait a while for our food and service was a little slow for us sitting at the 'bar' but once we did receive it, we were totally satisfied. We started with fresh, homemade chips with a dry chili salsa and a tomatillo salsa which were both flavorful and spicy. Wanted to give this place a try because of the partnership with the Michelin Star restaurant El Califa De Leon! First of all the atmosphere is great! The place is really cute. Doesn't feel like Miami to me and I loved that about it. The weather was perfect when we went since this place is wide open with with picnic table style seating outside. The service was also great. Our waitress was really busy but she was very attentive and was really nice. Definitely enjoyed the service. Now to the tacos. We ordered the Costilla Califa tacos and I did not expect what I got I'm not saying they were bad, but I'm also not saying they were the best tacos I've ever had. They definitely were just good. After an event at the Moore Building,, a couple of us were hungry and wanted something simple to munch on so we ventured across the street to Tacombi. Cute place, we were promptly seated and our nice server quickly tended to us and took our orders. Opting for a calmer night, the drink of choice was Tropo Chico's all around, aka carbonated water. After looking over the menu, the Al Pastor tacos stood out to me so I placed an order for 2 each. They were so yummy! simple and to the point, à good amount of pork filling , onions and a slice of pineapple on the top. Being a hot sauce lover I asked for a side of their hottest sauce and surprisingly it had a great kick to it! Gobernador Salsa Had my eyebrows sweating lol. After adding that heat to our tacos almost as a topping we had a craving for something sweet so we shared the churros. I tried to order online to go pick it up, but the process is absolutely impossible! It makes you sign in. It sends a code to your email, then you have to enter your phone number and it sends a code to your phone. But it would not accept the code, even though an iPhone automatically cuts and pastes it to the website. So I gave up and walked in to order. That's reason #1 for 4 stars. Once we entered, they wanted us to fill out the menu- like a sushi shop. The problem is that they don't have everything on the menu that they have online. Like the platos, which is what we wanted. So the waitress just put our order into her little pocket computer. They also HAD watermelon juice in the store, but did NOT have it online. So, they need to figure that out too. The food is good. The esquites were so-so. The servers were all very nice. The second reason I give 4 stars instead of 5 is because this is crazy expensive. Our total for 3 people was over $100 after tip. EACH taco is $6-8! It's a much better deal to get the platos. For $16-17 you get 3 corn taco shells, and the meat to go inside, plus rice and black beans. It was also $1.50 for a side of pico de gallo. The guacamole and chips were the best thing! But the large is $15! So, ya, the food is good, but I can get good Mexican food at a hundred places in Miami. I understand it's the Design District, so I'm sure rent is high. But I won't be back. read more

I came fairly late at night, but my friend and I were attended to and seated quickly by their staff. Their agua de sandía was FANTASTIC - I left with an extra one to go! Tacombi's Brickell location is awesome! It has a really cool aesthetic evocative of a hole in the wall in Mexico--the kind of hidden gem that secretly serves the best Tacos. I have to say that Tacombi lives up to the image! Their tacos are all delicious (especially when we dropped by for their collab with El Califa, a Michelin-starred taco spot from Mexico). The food was so bland and dry overall and service was so poor that we could find it better in a fast food restaurant. The waiter not once came to check on us, and when they came to collect the check, didn't ask how the food was, even though he was clearing our plates which had most of the food untouched because of how inedible it was. One of the girls delivering our food to the table had a nasty attitude, snatching a dish off the table that we hadn't ordered, and was impatient when we couldn't understand her because of her accent. I met a bunch of friends for drinks and a bite before an event. The manager and staff are welcoming and helped take care of a group that kept getting larger as more friends showed up! The interior looks like a polished cafeteria, with pastel colors and metal chairs. This means you can be as cute or casual as you like. The menu is brief, but very straightforward, and you can mark off how many of each dish or drink you would like, and hand it to your server. I had the Sweet Potato and Black Bean tacos which were by one get one during happy hour. Yes, you can get tacos starting at one apiece. The sweet potato was well cooked and mashed, blended and seasoned very well with the black bean. The Cotija on top gave it a slight salty emphasis that made it very fulfilling to eat. I was satisfied with eating the two tacos washing it down with a Monopolio IPA completed my snack meal! I shared a friends tequila shot, and I have to say, the tequila was actually very smooth. I love the touch of adding a Tajin rim to the lime garnish. Their happy hour is the place to be. From 5-7 pm on weekdays, they have the BOGO select tacos (starting at $4.95), $9 Hours Margaritas (regular or spicy!) and Sandia Fresca (watermelon juice and tequila) and $5 beers. Don't normally complain, however, ordered carryout on New Year's Eve and the experience was the worst I've had in 2025. Door was locked which was strange but a delivery driver let me in. Staff was breaking things down and cleaning while still preparing food which was a red flag. I stood there and watched while a few sanitation standards were not being followed. The staff quality cut a frozen block of meat and hurried to cook on flattop grill with no seasoning and the grill hadn't been cleaned . The majority of our other items got cold as I waited . As I stood there I saw most of the condiments had been depleted so not sure we even got an accurate representation of each item. Most of the food was inedible and for the $70 price point a complete waste of money and ingredient. Tacombi Design District needs to do better or don't open on a day like NYE! read more

I really wanted to like this place. The design is great and all the staff is really friendly. We started with guacamole, which was all right but a little simple. The chips were absolutely great super crunchy and fresh. I also had an esquite which I have to say I liked. Of the two tacos I tried the Carne Asada was the better one because I think even though the flavors were simple, the fresh, crunchy grilled jalapeño and onion slices gave it nice flavor. The Al Pastor taco was really not great and lacked cilantro. I also think that it's super important to have good salsas, and I thought all of theirs had very similar flavors since they were all vinegar-based. in general, it's a nice casual place, but don't know if I would recommend it for tacos as much as I would for a stop to have a cold margarita and guacamole. read more

Delicious but tiny microscopic portions (see images). Tip: the green sauce that comes with the shrimp tacos is extremely spicy so definitely dip your finger in the sauce to try it before you go pour it on to your tacos. The good: all tacos were delicious, I tried the shrimp taco, crispy fish taco and seared fish taco. The shrimp taco was the best one even though it seemed like there was a maybe 1 to 1.5 small shrimps chopped up into small pieces per taco. The crispy fish taco was also delicious and is a larger portion and the seared fish was also delicious but again small portion. The bad: the tiniest portions I've ever seen in a taco. Especially the shrimp taco and the seared fish taco. Overall delicious tacos just keep in mind that the portions are very small. read more

The definition of Late Night Gourmet! After starting off my first night of Basel '22 somewhat late, I needed a place to eat but all of the other Design District restaurants were full or hosting private events. I saw Tacombi and decided to try my luck. I got in, filled my order on their paper slips....and waited close to 30 minutes to get my first dish. Understandable since they were the only open spot, but I was hungry :) I had a couple of their bottled waters, since I didn't have PTO the next day. Y'all know how I feel about bottled water and filtered water right? Among my bites were the black bean soup with rice (and some heat already blended in). I ended up boosting the spice factor with both the red and green salsa from the (non complementary) chips.
