    Chicken tinga
    Audrey K.

An absolute gem in the wicker park neighborhood. I've tried every taco on the menu, and every single one of them is delicious. My current favs are the chicken tinga taco (see pic: the taco is HUGE and full of flavor and happiness) as well as the black bean and sweet potato. I always order the avocado tostada too. Tuesday is BOGO tacos (and avo tostados). That stacked with happy hour ($5 beers, $9 margs) and you got yourself a fabulous weeknight dinner that eases the pain of it only being tuesday. My roommate is vegetarian, and this place has good options for her. She gets the avocado tostada and black bean & sweet potato tacos. Servers are always friendly and accommodating. Never too busy, perfect atmosphere for a weeknight dinner

Great service. One of the best micheladas I've had in the US. We came for a couple drinks, some elote, and birria tacos. The elote was creamy and not too watery like some other places make it. The vibes were fun and they played cool music. Overall way more authentic than I expected.

We ordered a lot which most of it was excellent. Shout out to the shrimp taco, the queso masa crunch, the ribeye and the avocado tostada. Then there is the Crispy Chicken Tinga Burrita. I was very excited for this. It looked small but didn't care if it tasted good. I took a bite and it had black beans and pickled veggies. Good but no chicken. Then another bite the same. Then I unwrapped it and wow. What a disappointment. This is $22 delivered? @tacombi I hope whoever made this messed up. How does this even happen?

Stopped in here for Happy Hour. Very cute place with an open concept. Restaurant comes from Playa del Carmen. Mostly street food to order but it looked liked it came quick. I have my eye on trying the fish taco when I return. For this occasion we just got drinks because we were headed to restaurant down the street with no booze. For drinks we tried the watermelon/tequila/lime cocktail. It was flavorful and was even better when Alexis made it spicy for me. By the way Alexis was super kind and thorough. He knew a lot about the history of the restaurant and other locations. We also tried the Michelada which is different than I have had before but good. I did enjoy the lager beer they had. Will definitely come visit this place again. They have birria tacos and the guacamole looked tasty.

    Agua fresca to go!

Literally came here 3 times already just to get their agua fresca! If you grab it to go, they put it in a cute little bottle with a screw on lid. Everytime I come I get the watermelon flavor because it's so fresh and sweet! Once I stopped by and was telling the manager (I think) how much I loved it and he gave me the pineapple agua fresca to try and it was so good! Great service and you can't go wrong when their agua fresca is so fresh and only about $4! I came and sat inside once with some friends and we ordered some guacamole and chips. The guac was so fresh and tasty! And the chips were extra crunchy. The small size was quite small and probably is better for just 1 person, so next time I would order a large to share. The small is a bit pricey but it was delicious so I can't really complain. The ambience is so fun and lively. It's bright and colorful inside and people seem to be having a great time. I loved that each table had a little coat rack next to it so you can hang your bags! So convenient and not obtrusive at all. Great touch. I need to come back to actually try the food and margaritas! And of course just for more agua fresca. Definitely recommend :)

This place is cool, v much a wicker park vibe. Kid friendly, we went on a Saturday night, it was full of families, and kept us warm. The tacos were great! I got a Baja taco and an Al pastor, they have horchata, Topo Chico, and margaritas (also by the pitcher). Everything is seasoned well, has a great Mexico City feel when you walk in, and is overall great. Strongly suggest, esp if you have a family.

    Al Pastor Taco.

We were super excited for a new taco place but man, for what you get... the prices are a JOKE. I wanted to give a two but the servers were friendly and the food wasn't bad... but SEVEN dollars for one taco which has maybeeee 1.5 oz of meat?! You've gotta be kidding me. For the sake of the review, I will report on them though. We started with a beer and a spicy margarita- both good and $14 isn't unusual for marg but it was small and 90% ice. For tacos we got: - Birria - 8/10 very tasty but the greasiest iteration I have ever had and I have had a lot of birria tacos - Al Pastor - 7/10 lacked flavor and tiny meat portion on an already tiny taco - Seared fish 6/10 TINY piece of fish with a weird spice, the salsas were necessary - Steak 7.5/10 - this was good but again tiny and hardly filled at all Overall, no way in hell we will be back with these prices. They will be closed within a year if they don't drop them, I can guarantee it. we've been here three years and seen restaurant after restaurant close if you can't compete on this block and we would choose Bartaco or antique taco any day for better pricing.

Tacombi one of the best Taco spots in the city Chicago . Tacombi delivers a very unique spin on service where they give you a pencil and a menu that you check off , along with quantity of each menu item. I ordered the Baja Crispy Taco that was unbelievably Crispy , tender , juicy , topped with pickled cabbage , poblano Mayo , and pico - one of my favorites for a fish taco !!! Their "Guac Con Totopos"is a crowd pleaser!! Freshly made & will having you want seconds!! "Corn Esquites" delivers flavor on top of flavor - I highly recommend it!!! Tacos are a must try when you stop by Tacombi !!! Their Agua Fresca drinks: Watermelon Fresca : very refreshing to drink , Pineapple Fresca : very refreshing , enjoyable to drink , my go to drink when I visit !!!

First visit to the wicker park location and like all my other Tacombi experiences it was great. As always very cool atmosphere and friendly knowledgeable staff. I had their Sinaloa shrimp taco and Baha Fish taco. Both made to order tasty and fresh. Parking can be tough but worth the effort.

Delicious fast casual taco spot in Wicker! This fast growing U.S. chain has a bright and fun ambiance. My husband and I dined in on our lunch break last Tuesday, because they have a Tuesday BOGO taco deal. The service was fast and everyone was so friendly! We ordered the sweet potato & black bean, Baja crispy fish, yucateco pollo, carne asada, and al pastor. They were delicious and a good size street taco! The sauces available just elevated the tacos. Excited to try the other items on the menu. Highly recommend this spot!

Good food and good service! I love their Taco Tuesdays deal so that's a bonus! The drinks weren't too bad either. The ambience was great!

Ribeye, pastor and Baja fish taco
    Natasha C.

The flavors were phenomenal! All the tacos were fresh. We got ribeye, Baja fish, chicken, birria, shrimp, and pastor and they were all delicious. Their spicy margaritas pitcher was the way to go for two people. The service was quick and our server was amazing. Not sure why this only has 3.5 stars. Figure it out Chicago.

Food was awesome! A little heavy on the salt as herbs and spices are the best way to make foods from South America rock. The food and ambience was awesome and having a sink to wash your hands first in the dinning area made me feel like was in South America like the Dominican Republic and you can wash your feet at restaurants there on that island and this restaurant has a sink to wash your hands so I loved that as it was amazing food and good ambience and very nice well dressed staff and great food and staff. Carlos was my chef and the gentleman that seated me was a great host. Thank you Tacombi for a nice dinner tonight that was moderately priced in times of need it's the best food from the Hispanic people I love there country. Just awesome service! Thank you wicker park! My hats off to you and Taco Bell across the street how does that stay in business with Tacombi rocking it!!!!!

Starting with margaritas (because obviously ‍), queso and chips that were dangerously good, and the chicken empanadas that came out perfectly crispy with so much flavor. We kept looking at each other after every bite like "okay wait... THIS is the best thing here" and then another plate would arrive and prove us wrong again The carnitas fried rice??? I genuinely cannot stop thinking about it. So savory, flavorful, comforting, and packed with crispy carnitas on top with the eggs and pickled onions... literally unreal. And then the skirt steak tacos absolutely stole the show. The steak was cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and paired so perfectly with all the toppings and sauces. Every single bite tasted fresh and homemade in the best way possible. And can we talk about the ambience for a second because WOW. I arrived at the restaurant on time (4:30) and checked in with the hostess, who said I could only be seated when the entire group of three arrived. This seemed weird given the restaurant was pretty empty at this time, and ordinarily I'd order a drink while waiting at the table. Regardless, I went to Starbucks instead because I knew the other two were a few minutes behind. When I got back to the restaurant, my friend said the hostess told him we absolutely had to leave within 1.5 hours because we were late... which seemed odd because he may have checked in 15 minutes after our reservation, to an empty restaurant, that already refused to seat me on time. Regardless, the food was delicious. I had the Pollo in ChiChilo-- the mole was delicious, and I loved the chicken and sweet potato. I ordered the mole on the side, which seemed like a nice balance. Since the hostess wouldn't previously seat me, I had a lovely iced matcha latte with oat milk and half a pump of vanilla from Starbucks, which was a nice pairing. The waiter did ask if I wanted a shot of something with it, which seemed odd. Ambiance was cute, probably due for a renovation but seemed appropriate for most dining out occasions- dates, families, a day out in town. Note: the restaurant charges an automatic 20% gratuity which may explain the service. Keep this in mind to avoid tipping more than you intend. Overall, I would definitely come back, and the food and wait staff made up for the abrasive welcome.

Spicy pineapple Cocktail- good, strong, but not great. Couldn't really taste any pineapple. Cleanliness- clean and organized. Cost - affordable for special occasion. Restroom - fancy and clean. Ambiance - warm and relaxing, but a bit cheap with the vinyl or cheap wood veneer tables.
