It's good, it's consistent, and it's 24 hours... what more could you want? Amazing food, friendly staff, and consistency that could only be rivaled by the McDonalds a few feet away. I'm always amazed at the level of consistency this place has. It could be 5pm or 5am- the food will taste just the way it should AND the portions are always good. Ticket times in the kitchen are crazy low, too. I would say they get orders out in under 10 minutes on a regular basis. Pro tip- they ONLY ACCEPT CASH TIPS. Please bring cash if you don't feel like being THAT guy. I've made the mistake of forgetting to bring cash to tip these lovely ladies more times than I care to admit- but to be fair, it is a kind of ridiculous policy. I understand it sucks to get taxed on tips, but this creates a situation where they don't even get tipped at all. I bet they would make a ton more money if they dropped this policy like the hot garbage it is! Regardless, this is an incredibly good neighborhood staple and I hope it remains for many years to come! I went in for a casual taco night with a friend and we were shocked when the total for 2 sets of tacos, an order of chips n guac, and two fountain drinks was nearly $80. Every side is an extra charge, and not a nominal one either. It could have been justified if you thought you were paying for ambiance or service, but its next to nothing in both departments. This is a good taco spot! The tacos are pretty tasty but I felt like it was a little overpriced for what it is. I got a taco dinner, which comes with 3 tacos of choice and rice and beans. For my tacos I got pollo, Al pastor, and carnitas. All of them were tasty, but surprisingly pollo was my favorite - the meat was flavorful and juicy. The rice and beans on the side were good too. Food used to be way better and that's saying a lot for a place that's 24/7. Please tell me why i spent $20 before tip for a taco dinner that looked like it came from Taco Bell. Actually i had taco bell couple days ago and that looked and tasted better and was half the price for the same amount or more food. The menus have all the prices scratched out and only half the menu items are listed on the white board above the cash register, so we really didn't even know that that's how much we would be spending on such a bad to subpar meal. I know times are tough with rising produce prices and such, but if the prices are going to go up, then the quality must also get better. Pretty simple. Also, don't bother asking for chips and salsa cuz it ain't complimentary anymore. We asked and were surprised when she said it was a whopping $5!! I used to really like coming here for their soups but sadly, today was my last time because they charge for everything now. I was charged for chili garnish for my soup as well as rice which usually comes with their soups. It's open 24 hours, so look nod further for late night munchies after the bars close. It is a bit expensive on my opinion for what it is, but hey, I'll be back anyway. Service was awesome. It is open 24 hours, so I decided to take a look at what they offered. The menu had affordable Mexican comfort food. I was tempted to order more than I visited for, but ended up sticking to my plan of ordering one taco. Although it was nearly midnight, the restaurant was crowded and there was barely any tables open. Everything on the menu looked delicious, but I ordered the $2.75 carne asada (steak) taco. It came with 2 nicely grilled flour tortillas, nicely cooked carne asada, lettuce, tomatoes, and a side of red salsa sauce. Only critique is I wish it came with some onions, cilantro, limon, and more meat. The restaurant walls were colorfully decorated and had the feel of a little hole in the wall Mexican village. The al pastor meat on the rotating spit looked very delicious, I will have to spend the extra money next time to try the $3.30 al pastor taco. It hit the spot. Perfect midnight snack.
