We wanted to try three different taco combos so we had the tacos de trompo with pina and they were good. The frijoles charros and frijoles preparados were both good as well. I came with two friends, one ordered the quesadilla+chicken and rice The other the 5 taco combo with beans. I ordered a Gringa à la carte as well as a "pirata" taco à la carte. Overall everyone agreed the food was great in taste and came out hot which is good. Everyone also loved the variety of salsa provided and had fun trying it with the chips The lemonade tasted fresh and delicious as well!

It did not disappoint. Beware the tacos are on the smaller size but I was good with two. Service was fast and polite. They do have a lot of traffic in their walk up window. The entrance has two steps so I wouldn't call it handicap accessible. Sorry for the bad menu picture, the menu would not lay flat

Two foodies from Houston,…read more We were in Laredo on a road trip and exploring foods. We decided on La Carreta based on some reviews. I should have listened to one in particular. However, I like to explore and encourage others to do so. Waitstaff was extremely professional. I enjoy Mexico's style of waitstaff customer service. The interior was dark wood and old school. They provided crispy and strong tortillas chips ( I am not a fan of the thin chips.) and some refried beans and lime. We ordered Ceviche and Ribeye with shrimp. Food was okay. However, the steak was not Ribeye. While it was sliced thin (I know what thinly sliced Ribeye looks like since we use it in our HotPot), it was some other cut of meat. I would preferred the cut be called whatever it was. As always, try it out of yourself and let us know. Happy eating!

Waiter was very monotone. We were a party of 3 and all tried to interact but he really showed no emotion and was very soft spoken. 1 small complimentary dish was served for the table but it was beans with saucy piece of meat plopped on top. Not pleasing to the eye. Chips were definitely stale. Food was terrible - ribeye steak was over cooked. We ordered medium and we fought to cut with a knife. Meat was so dry. Both my father and I left the mean. Sides were all lacking flavor. My mom had the fried shrimp and it was basically batter, hardly any shrimp. One star for the rice. It was okay. I brought up the meat and no body addressed it. We simply paid and left. I did not skimp on the tip because even though the waiter wasn't welcoming , he did his job as vanilla as it was. As we were leaving a couple walked in and asked to order the special that was advertised on every single table. Their waiter reached over them grabbed the sign and said oh no we don't have anymore of that. LOL I should have told them to run!

If not, I never would've found this place…read more I've been here a couple times for my taco fix the last time I was in Laredo and always meant to put the word out about this spot. Each time I put in my order online through the Clover app and picked up the eats from the place. You'll be greeted by some mexican fiesta music playing with a clean interior and the sounds of meats sautéing on the flattop in the back. These were my surroundings as I received my orders from the nice lady at the counter and dashed back to grub. Every taco I've ordered comes with sauteed onions and radishs with the cilantro/onion garnish and all have been delicious. The bistec, alambre, pastor, brisket w/ sausage, and suadero meats are packed with flavor/seasoning and have perfect texture with the corn tortillas they are stuffed in. The small quesadillas are also a treat with the cheese melted to perfection on the meats. Tacos look small but they pack it with a good amount of protein and are piping hot, even after bringing them back to my domicile. Glad this is in Laredo!
