Food is as it always has been. No frills just good quickie Mexican tacos etc. Not gourmet but neither are the prices.

The food is lackluster, bland. The atmosphere is so dated that I felt like I was in the movie "Napoleon Dynamite." After the manager made his big post about asking the community to spot him for the down payment to buy the place, I lost all interest in ever going back. read more

Totally old school taco joint. As much as I'm in Claremore, I've never been. The drive thru is a bit convoluted but is still accessible. I can only speak to the drive thru service. It was fast and friendly. I ordered a burrito which was cheap but loaded with beans and cheese. I loved it. I do want to dine in and try some tacos soon. Don't be scared b/c it looks old. Every time we are in Claremore we try and go to taco tico! The place is clean and so much better than your average fast food taco shop! The prices are unbeatable and the staff is always friendly! The food is always good and I never have any complaints. Ok so I grew up eating at Taco Tico until they closed ours down. I was doing some yelping and found this Taco Tico about 1 hr away. I couldn't wait to get back to my childhood times. This place brought back some great memories from the menu board down to the food. The only thing different was the coke machine. It's fast food I understand but it's great fast food for great Mexican food. The Tacos are just greasy enough to make ya want more. Love having the beans n cheese dip it's better than what ya get from Fritos lay stuff. It was great eating here again. I will be back for more goodness. Okay - I grew up in Rogers, Arkansas where we had a Taco Tico - it was the place. Fond memories and nostalgia blend with really good fast service food. I don't get out here often, but this may have been my 3rd visit over several years. My go to are the beef enchiladas and cinnamon sugar crustos. In my youth, standard orders were usually a taco burger, sancho, and the beef enchiladas. Their menu looks the same as it did 30 years ago. Their classics have just enough unique taste and differences than your other fast service options. Cinnamon sugar crustos are always a nice finish - or even the elusive choco taco ice cream treat! The restaurant is clean, has some nostalgic Route 66 memorabilia and themed decor. They have one of those fancy movie theater beverage dispensers. A salsa bar rounds out the detail to service. If you're in Claremore or grew up with Taco Tico - give this one a try as there are not many around us anymore. It will take you back to your memories and not disappoint. read more

We drive a couple of hours from NW Arkansas a few times a year to satisfy our craving for the unique and nostalgic flavors from our childhood. We are never disappointed. Love the beef enchiladas and the green chili sauce. And of course the classic crunchy taco and taco burger are always favorites. Today's enchiladas could have used way more sauce but were still good. Service was excellent as always. Definitely worth the drive for one of the few remaining Taco Tico restaurants in the country. read more

Terrible food, if you eat here then you probably have horrible taste in food. I decided to give it a try and break my routine from my usual spots since I'm still trying to find some of the best food around. This place is a like a worse Taco Bell/ del taco. The food was bland, chicken taco was watery. The beef taco seemed liked it was a beef chili, which threw me off a lot. Couldn't finish the meal, don't recommend this place at all. It's so unfortunate that this is the last taco tico open in this area! Because this has got to be the absolutely worse location! And it's all management! They make up crazy hours! I just went through the drive thru at 5:00 pm and they are closed!!! They don't think to put the sign on the drive thru! No you have to sit there awhile, because you already know they are the slowest drive thru around! Pull up to the window finally and see that they are closing at 5 so they can train employees! These people just don't want to be there! If it wasn't the only taco tico left, I'd have said I'm never coming back a long long time ago! Bad service and wild hours are nothing new to this place! Was working in Claremore and wanted to try the taco burger. First of all, I sat in the drive-thru way longer than normal and I was the only car. Second, the prices definitely don't match the quality of the food. Third, the burger literally was the size of the palm of my hand (small!). I also order the tots. I asked for ketchup and sauce to go with it all. The lady handed me 1 small package of ketchup and a small side of sauce. I asked for more ketchup and the lady informed me that they went up in price therefore they usually only give one per customer. May seem petty but I would have paid for them if they offered. I remember these burgers being great as a kid...not so much anymore. Won't be going back. read more

Owner is EXTREMELY RUDE to not only his employees but customers as well which the mediocre food doesn't make up for. After waiting more than 40 minutes and watching 2 groups that came after get their food before us we asked for a refund and the owner went CRAZY yelling "do you want an application?" Ok, so I ordered the Double Enchilada Dinner, which comes with a taco. The taco was fine, though after consideration with my friends, we believe that the taco may have just been purchased from Taco Bell and resold, as it was literally identical. The hot sauce they offered is also identical to Taco Bell's mild sauce. On top of this, from the frequent microwave sounds coming from the kitchen, and the strangely familiar taste of the enchiladas, we believe that the enchiladas may have been lifted from a Lean Cuisine. The beef in the enchiladas was also completely different from the beef in the taco, so we know they definitely did not come from the same place. The beans were fine, cause you can't really mess that up. The rice was crusty, dry, and filled with unidentifiable vegetables, so I did not finish that. Overall, the worst Mexican food I have had the displeasure of putting in my body. Not to say it was terrible, as I haven't had much bad Mexican food, but definitely still the worst. Staff was nice, I don't blame them at all. The food was fairly cheap too, though it does not come with a drink. The atmosphere was fine too. Maybe the other food was better, but avoid the enchiladas. As a teenager, my friends and I lived on Taco Tico 5/$1 tacos. 20+ years later, I travel 30 miles at least once a month to get my Tico fix. Only reason I didn't give five stars is the change in sauce. I've always been a fan of the Green Chile Sauce and the "new" sauce is just not the same. As others have mentioned, going out of my way to eat here was a lot about the nostalgia. I was hoping for a good experience. When we arrived, I was happy to be greeted by a friendly cashier. I ordered the double enchilada dinner and my husband ordered tacos. I liked that the tacos were filled to the very top with meat, lettuce, and cheese. I also loved that the enchilada dinner was served piping hot. The taste was also delicious just how I remembered. Their taco meat reminds me of Taco Mayo's. My husband, who had never been to a Taco Tico, loved it and said he wanted to come again. When dining in, the soda and hot sauce bar is self serve. It is rare that I would think a fast food restaurant deserves five stars, but the money spent and the 45 minute drive was worth it for those enchiladas. read more

The appeal is vastly linked to nostalgia. If you were not raised on Taco Tico the odds that you will give this cheap taco hut a 5 star rating is slim to none. Basically it's not that good but it is fantastic if you're in the mood for cheap greasy tacos and burritos. I'm a fan but even in this brilliant review, that I'm sure will drive you to at least take a chance and try this brilliantly understated taco heaven, doesn't get 5 stars but that is because I'm a sob about my 5 star ratings.
