The service here is outstanding! I was looking for a place to host a work dinner, and TacoTaco really came through me for me. They were super responsive over email, and so friendly and easy to connect with. The dinner was amazing too. Everyone in my group loved it and said we should keep this as our annual spot. The employees are super nice, the food is great, and there are options to accommodate every diet. They have a nice happy hour too! The space overall is really cool and surprisingly versatile. We ate in the front dining room, but I saw there was a private events space with dance lessons going on in the back! Taco spot located in Kensington Market. Came for a private event and the front of the restaurant was reserved for the party. They also had another larger space at the back of their restaurant that they were able to host regular walk in customers and another private party. The restaurant can be separated by 2 with a door so that was a nice touch that they're able to host two parties at the same time. The staff were nice and attentive and tacos were great! Here's what I'd rate each one: Beef Birria Taco 5/5 - Loved this, had pulled beef, mozz cheese, white onion, cilantro and served with consomme. Brisket 4/5 - Slow roasted brisket, with coleslaw and bbq sauce. Delicious! Cajun cod 3/5 - Thought this one was okay. It came with a fried piece of fish, pineapple salsa and tartar sauce. Grilled shrimp 4/5 - Delicious simple ingredients. Churros 5/5 - A must finish ending to your meal. Loaded nachos 4/5 - Great for sharing and comes with your protein of choice. I was surprised to see the place empty when we walked in today. Honestly, I was hungry and they did a good job with the tacos. I got the grilled jerk chicken and the Cajun fish. The grilled jerk chicken came with coleslaw. The chicken portion was generous and worked well with the coleslaw. The Cajun fish was crispy and very well seasoned. The pineapple on top was the right balance for the fish. I devoured both in 5 mins. My friend got three of the vegetarian options (cauliflower, mushroom and butternut squash). I am not a vegetarian myself but my friend is, so we were actually happy by the vegetarian options. The service was quick! No complains. You order, you get your food, you enjoy it, you leave. For this visit I tried their ground beef nachos, cauliflower wings and corn fritters. Everything tasted good. My favorite were the cauliflower wings. Batter was light and crunchy. The beef nachos had lots of toppings on it and lots of flavour. Corn fritters were alright but wasn't crispy enough for me. read more

We stopped into Taco Taco while shopping in Kensington Market. They were prepping for a private party later in the day and asked if we would like to sit outside. We were happy to as the weather was just about perfect. My son ordered the loaded fries - he thought they were delicious. My daughter ordered a jerk chicken taco, a pork pastor taco and a barria taco - all three were very tasty; our favorite was the jerk chicken taco. My husband ordered barria tacos, and a shrimp taco - fantastic. I didn't order anything but took a bite of several tacos. The staff are nice and friendly and the restaurant is group-friendly. They have live music on Thursday nights and I love the fact that they give the chance to younger musicians the chance to play here. They have good selection of cocktails and mocktails and beer. What we ordered: - street corn - cajun cod taco - jerk chicken taco - chipotle chicken taco Out of the 4 items that we got, I really enjoyed the street corn the most because I like elote. As for portion, I think they gave a good amount of protein and toppings for each taco. Taste wise, I found the tacos to be okay. Decent vibes on a lazy Saturday afternoon. I can imagine the ambiance on evenings would be very very interesting. As for the food, there are plenty of tacos fused with global cuisines. The Prickly Pear Margarita and Classic Margarita were highly recommended. We ordered the Grilled Jerk Chicken, Grilled Chipotle Chicken tacos, Grilled Shrimp tacos. There's nothing to complain about at Taco Taco. Basic spot and great for tourists as they jump all over you as you come in with lavish attention and service. It's actually pretty fun to watch, but would depend on your mood and disposition. I was literally starving and after seeing a horrible band at Poetry Bar, I needed something, anything to eat and try and relax. They have beer, they have tacos, all for a reasonable cost too, so a perfect late night spot to get some decent grub without attitude at any time day or night is my impression from going there once. The food is perfectly ok. It kinda reminds me going to mom's house hungry. You don't really know what you're getting, but you know it's going to be good and you won't leave unsatisfied. The kitchen is located at the back of the restaurant behind a counter that serves as a divider & a bar. The place has a good selection of dishes that can be served either as a taco, burrito, salad or rice bowl, along with a good selection of vegan dishes (their menu). I opted for one of their teriyaki mushrooms tacos & 1 squash taco, while my friend had 1 Texas brisket taco & 1 beef biria. The tacos were the perfect size, served on soft corn tortillas & were both messy & delicious. Excellent food and service! The corn fritters were by far my favourite thing on the menu, closely followed by the sweet potato tacos. Two tacos, plus a side, definitely filled me up for dinner! The hard iced teas were also excellent, would recommend the mango hard iced tea or the watermelon hard iced tea! read more

Had our reservations for our large group abruptly cancelled via text message TWO DAYS before the event. According to them, they had booked another private event on the same day and only realized it last minute, severely inconveniencing us in the process. Meanwhile, these reservations were made two weeks prior. There was no advanced notice and no apology from the restaurant. They claim their system is broken, but I call BS. Sounds to me like they got a better offer for a bigger event and booted us out. Now we are left to find a restaurant to accommodate our large group last minute. Incredibly cruel and unprofessional. I haven't even eaten at this restaurant before and they managed to leave a bad taste in my mouth. Think twice before making reservations here. read more

Found this little place just roaming Kensington Market looking for a place to watch Eurocup while having some beers. Its a small restaurant with a decent patio. They set up the TV face the patio so everyone could watch. The staff were friendly and the food was great. I had the corn fritters and a cheese burger burrito which were both very satisfying and paired well with the beers. They specialize in these ice teas that you could have with or without liquor; they were perfect for hot humid weather. Would definitely go back to try more of their food. read more

Absolutely horrible food, service and experience. Yes, the prices are cheap but you get what you pay for. The tacos can barely be considered tacos. You can make better ones at home. The cod fish is 90% batter. There was a hair cooked in the shrimp. Only one server. Horrible food. All ingredients for the tacos or sides are cooked from frozen, with almost nothing fresh on the plate. My chicken and pulled pork tacos were almost inedible. The service is friendly but their in-house system is a mess and led to more than one order mix ups, most of which were forgotten after the fact.
