We always call ahead and our order is ready when we get there. They cook everything fresh and it's worth the wait! Taco Stop has the BEST vegan birria in town! I am gluten free so I have ordered the birria burrito as a bowl instead and it is delicious. I've also had the vegan birria tacos, as well. I've tried the actual birria and almost love the vegan ones more! They are made from jackfruit and they use vegan cheese. Their agua frescas are to die for. The watermelon and lime are my favorite but they always have different flavors in the cooler. They cook everything for you fresh, so there is a bit more of a wait for your food than you expect, but it is well worth it! If you are in a hurry, order by phone and pick up. I have been literally stuck in this place dying to eat here. I have seen this taco truck here for years I have never realize it is actually True gem of a food truck. It started popping up in my Yelp and for the last couple months I've been really wanting to try it and I finally got it today. End it has five stars all around. I called my order and read another reviews of the week to be a while but she had my food ready when I got there about 10 minutes later. The ladies serving me could not have been any sweeter. I got a bean cheese and rice burrito and a jackfruit burrito and both were amazing!!!!! OK with some kind of chipotle salsa that was creamy and it was so good. They are at Houghton at Speedway Wednesday through Saturday and on Sunday they are at Pantano and 22nd. Their truck is purple now, it used to be white. read more

Found this place through my goto vegan source on IG @deathfreefoodie and @ tucson_vegan (ty both!). Tried the vegan quesa birria tacos, yummy stuff! Like, Mark Weins would be saying, "Oh, Wow!" Also tried a vegan Sonoran style hotdog, and washed everything down with some agua fresca honeydew melon. Just what the doctor ordered. This is the quintessential food truck experience if you're into food trucks! Might order ahead if don't want to wait or pick an off-time. A steady flow of customers there for sure. Amazing!!!! Located at a Circle K's parking lot on the far east side of Tucson, this little place always has a steady run of traffic. Why? Because it's good! Operating out of food truck that doesn't move a lot (they do special events and catering, though), this unassuming place throws out some great Mexican food. Don't let the name fool you. There are also burritos and quesadillas, as well as birria tacos. You want vegan? They've got that, too. There is a table available if you want to dine al fresco and watch the traffic go by (there are also the Rincons and Catalinas to look at). Now, let's talk the food - we had carne asada, as I arrived too late for shredded beef or birria. My husband had the taco plate - three tacos, picked onions mixed with white onion (the onion was a negative for him) beans, rice, hot salsa, and limes. I ordered the carne asada burrito and a bean and cheese burrito for us to split. Everything was delicious! The meat was in small, flavorful pieces. The tortillas were incredible, and the burritos were grilled on a flat top after being filled. And, they probably weighed over a pound each. Worth the wait? You bet it was! We will return, and we'll try to get there early to be able to try the shredded beef. read more

This truck has delicious quesabirria! I have a dairy allergy and celiac disease and they offered to put vegan cheese on the quesabirria tacos for me! I have never been able to eat birria with cheese so that was a real treat for me. The guy who was taking orders was so nice and looked up the ingredients in the vegan cheese they use to make sure it was gluten free. Wanted to know what the hype was all about and tried the jackfruit burro. Mind you I am not a vegan nor vegetarian, I just wanted to try it. I also actually HATE jackfruit, having an Asian family, you'd think I'd love it but no. I'm not a big fan of those kind of fruits (durian, jackfruit, lychee, etc.) BUT I think I'll be eating jackfruit burros from here for a long, long time because it was marinaded in something so good, I felt like I had the best burro so far in my life. It was soooo big (and I usually never finish one whole burro that size in one sitting), and I ate it ALL. It put me in a good mood and I texted my sister in Florida about it. It was that good. We've had vegetarian take-out from here several times. Their vegetarian filling is jackfruit, which we've had both as tacos or burritos--we liked them both. Tacos are street taco style. While these are fine, the jackfruit filling isn't great, so it's not as tasty as we wish. The ambiance would be something I would expect in a poor dusty town in Northern Mexico. The 3 super cheap metal folding tables and cheap metal (really cheap) folding chairs were set up by the rear and back of the taco truck where there was a really loud generator running. That was irritating. The carne asada in the tacos was very very dry. They must have cooked it many hours before and let it dry out. The flour tortillas were so thin (lone per taco) that they broke open when I picked them up. Usually, "street tacos" like these have 2 tortillas. These were so awful I threw them in the garbage where they belonged. And don't order the sides of rice and beans. Total wast of money. Now to the good part. I really did love the Jackfruit burrito. I would buy one again----but not eat it there. read more
