Love this spot. If you're looking for some good Mexican food looking further this is the spot. I stumbled across this restaurant while I'm looking for some Menudo. And Boy they did not disappoint. It's a mom and Pop shop and they definitely deliver with authentic taste. The Menudo is rich and full of flavor, and the chili sauce that they provide are awesome. I have also tried their Carne Asada burritos, I will say that my personal favorite is Menudo from them, but that's not taken away from the carne asada burrito, It was solid. It's a little restaurant, it does tend to get a little warm during the summer, but during the winter, it's not a problem at all, and if you are cold, the Menudo warm you right up. I've been coming to this place for about a year and it's always very tasty. I usually get the surf & turf burrito it's my favorite. It's a good size burrito to finish it on your own or share. It comes with fries, meat, shrimp, and salsa. I've loved it every time but the last time, I got just a few shrimp in there like 3 to 4 so I would love a couple extra to make it more to the burritos name. The people that work here are great people and always very friendly. It seems empty on the inside but if you come during breakfast / lunch time it's busy. There is lots of tables inside if you want to have it there and they also offer to give you salsa on the side. We stopped here for breakfast and got breakfast burritos. My husband also got two chicken tacos with his carne asada burrito. I got the American burrito with bacon (pictured). Taco Pronto is located in a plaza with ample parking. They have a sign on the wall that says the food is made to order. Note that they have a 3% convenience fee for using cards so bring cash if you want to avoid that. CALIFORNIA BURRITO ($12.50) - this had lots of meat but it didn't have guacamole which was extra. It needed some fresh ingredients and was just okay. They put the salsa on the side but I felt like it wasn't enough for the burritos so I had to be pretty conservative with it. 3/5 SURF & TURF BURRITO ($13.50) - I liked this one more than the California burrito mostly because of the shrimp. Other than that, they tasted very similar to each other. 3.5/5 CARNE ASADA FRIES ($12.50) - I liked the thin fries and they gave good portions of meat. I ordered this without beans and I'm glad I did. The portions could've been bigger but it wasn't bad for the price. 4/5 The service was good and they apologized for the food taking long even though I only waited 12 minutes. Always a good go to spot. You should make it a regular on your list of places to visit as well. Food is always good, hot and freshly made. Service is on point. Ambiance is typical of what it should be. Down side is this place does need some deep cleaning on the lobby. I've been here countless times and I'm finally taking the time to leave a good review because they deserve it! EVERY single time I've ordered from this place, they've exceeded my expectations. Quality food with generous portions, there isn't anything that I've had here that I didn't like. I also love how spicy their hot sauce is, it's housemade and they even have bottles of it for sale (the fiesta one is my favorite). What also makes this place stand out to me is the service on top of everything else. Everyone is honestly SO nice, the way they pick up the phone and the way they greet you when you enter, it's just all good vibes. For someone who gets a little anxious ordering especially knowing I'm pronouncing Spanish words terribly awful when ordering.....it just means a lot to not be made to feel bad about it. Huge shout out to Taco Pronto. We needed breakfast burritos early in the morning to feed 30 church group members and they came through!! We pre-ordered 16 burritos, for pick up at 7:30 am. I showed up on time and they were ready to go as ordered. They included a variety of their home made salsas and helped load them into the car (because the try was hot) Burritos were a hit. I would have taken a picture, but people dived in before I had a chance. People enjoyed the various salsas and we would totally use them again. Totally recommend Taco Pronto if you're looking for a delicious Mexican restaurant for yourself or looking to provide food to a large group or family gathering. We also had the crispy shredded beef tacos and the surf and turf burrito that she said was the specialty. They were all pretty good. The only one I would pass on in the future was the fish taco. The surf and turf burrito had shrimp and carne asada and the salsa they had was really good. Probably my favorites were the crispy tacos and the burrito but I enjoyed the rest of the tacos too. This is one of my go to places for Mexican food whenever I am in the area. I recommend getting their surf and turf burrito which is one of their well known items. There is a good amount of meat, shrimp, and fries. One thing that would really improve this dish is having crispy fries for that textural contrast because the fries are usually soggy. The carne asada quesadilla is also pretty good, but I wish they would put more cheese in it. There's a good amount of meat, but there definitely needs to be more cheese because it was basically like eating meat and tortilla. It would be nice if they gave some guac or sour cream to add some moisture to the dish since it tends to be dry. The nachos were pretty good. I still think I prefer the ones from Sabrosada just because their chips are crispier and more flavorful. Chips tend to be a bit soggy at times as well. Overall this is a good place to try if you are in the area and are craving for some Mexican food. It is located in a small strip mall plaza so parking is not really an issue. Get the surf and turf burrito! Whilst continuing the hunt for the best breakfast burrito to bring to the beach, I found Taco Pronto. It was perfect for us since it was on our way down to Laguna Beach. The Surf & Turf burrito comes with asada/beef, shrimp, french fries, avocado, cheese, and a "special sauce." It was only $13 which felt reasonably priced. I was actually surprised by how many pieces of shrimp there were! The fries inside of the burrito are such a classic Californian staple, although it was delicious it was a soggy by the time we got to enjoy it unfortunately. The shrimp and beef were cooked perfectly! Service was good, we ordered 10 burritos over the phone and our order was ready around the time we asked to pick it up (40 minutes after our call). Tried the American burrito with chorizo. Paid $12 for the burrito is a very nice decent size. The ingredients tasted really good, the egg was fluffy and the chorizo was good, hash browns were prolly my favorite part. They taste so good! This place has a variety of things to order. We ordered to-go on a weekday morning and sat in the dining room as we heard them drying the hashbrowns in the kitchen. The burrito was filled with all the things that make breakfast burritos great, eggs, cheese, sausage, but what really took it home was the fresh, crispy hash browns that were still crunchy as you bit into it. For some reason, the asada burrito had beans and no rice, and the pastor had rice and no beans. I was sad there wasn't beans in the pastor burrito because it would have made it so much better, but the rice was good, and the meat was so fresh and seasoned! This morning I walked in and was greeted by a family owned establishment with the best welcome I have by far ever received. Customer service here I by far the best. Came here bc of Yelp. The cashier could not be kinder. Awesome customer service. I have a really tough time that they charge 3% to use your credit card. These small businesses need to learn that there is a cost associated with doing business and you can just build it into the price of the food. The food itself was extremely bland.
