Ordered delivery from this location on September 21, 2025 through the Taco John's app. My order included a six pack and a pound with three sides of cheese sauce. Upon receiving my order, it did not include any of the six soft shell tacos with added tomatoes, only one of the two servings of potato oles, and one cheese sauce, along with the delivery being late and food cold. I promptly called the restaurant and was advised by the lady I spoke with that she had "bagged the food" herself and it was there. I stated the food was missing and I had not received it. She then offered to remake the order but I would have to come pick it up or she could give me a refund. I advised that picking the order up defeated the purpose of ordering delivery and would like a refund. She advised she would process a refund. It's nearly two weeks later and my refund has not yet been received. I will never do business with Taco John's again after not only being lied to about a refund, but also for spending nearly $60 altogether on food, delivery fees, and tip and not receiving the bulk of my order. read more

Just did drive-thru. TJ has gotten WAY too expensive for it's own worth. Never going again. Just paid $17 for a 2 softshell combo (medium) plus added an extra softshell - $17!! It was not a steak dinner!! Enough is enough - it's fast food!! DONE! read more

We come to this location primarily. This was a horrible visit. The service was extremely slow, the food wasn't hot. My tacos were given to a drive through customer and they brought them back in and were put on a tray with my wife's super potato oles which had been waiting for like 5minutes. And being charged $3.29 for a drink that is listed on the menu board for $2.99 I believe is against the law. Not at all happy with this visit. read more

We frequent Taco John's alot. The food is good and reliable. I like the Taco John's app. Free food after a number of visits. Today is apparently the first time we used the restrooms. The seat that actually fits must have cost an extra dollar or two! And in the other bathroom they really used some ingenuity the attach the toilet seat! My go to fast food place. Sometimes I hit them 5 of 7 days for lunch. Friendly staff and a lot of variety in the menu. Special items rotate in and out of the menu every couple of months so you can always find something new to try. Breakfast items are good and inexpensive also. read more

Last time I went in there. I stood at the register for 10 minutes. They glanced over then just continued working the drive-thru. The lady working the drive thru obviously hated her job. I could hear her trash talking the customers. "These people don't understand how blankety blank busy I am.... trying to get my blank done.." And so on. One guy clocked into the register as i was waiting for someone to acknowledge my presence then walked over towards the kitchen and just stood there. I could hear someone say to the drive-thru lady, "hey he needs training on the register". She ignored it and just kept grumbling stuff I couldn't quite hear. Again, no one said anything to me, like "be with shortly" or even a hello. I kinda shrugged, said "ok then" and walked out. I've been in this town my whole life and to Taco John's dozens of times. It has been a long time since I've been here, 35 years to be exact. When I knew I was coming to Dubuque, I timed it so we could stop here for lunch. I am glad I did. This is not where you go for gourmet food, this is where you go for comfort food. All those years ago, we are here all the time. Now I remember why. The food is delicious. The other surprise was the friendliness of the staff. I have eaten at a lot of establishments and the first thing I notice is how I am treated. I am ok with indifference. I get it. Take my order, serve me my food and send me on my way. It doesn't take much to make me feel like you're glad I'm here so when it happens I appreciate the effort. If you want good food with a friendly staff, come here. You won't be disappointed. read more

It's awesome. Simply delish. Taco Tuesdays is where it's at. Wednesdays has the taco burgers, too, which is a nice surprise for a taco joint. Hey Taco John's Where's The Beef???? I wished this allowed pictures to show Taco John's Corporate just how bad our local store is here in Dubuque. Their Central St. Store is a nightmare! I'm thinking they really don't care anyway with all the complaints, and nothing changes! Nobody wants free food thrown at them to try to Appease them at least I don't! I asked to please make sure there is meat in my taco salad to be told "Oh sure I'll make sure they do that" I got home had 2 salads, and only maybe 1 tablespoon of beef really? The same with the tacos no beef!!! Take down your bogus pictures of what the food is supposed to look like & maybe the disappointment would be a little bit less? I'm done as a customer! read more

Taco Johns has always been one of my favorite franchises for a long time ...but this time I must admit it has seriously slipped! Stale taco shells funny tasting ole's and the service was bad. I do not like to give them a bad review but this was not good. read more

Absolutely love the food. But they put WAY too much lettuce on our tacos. We could have made a salad with the it. Also, I have been to this location a couple of times and every time the employees are rude. They never said thank you or have a nice day. I asked one employee how late the other Taco John's opened till and she rolled her eyes and said she didn't know and went back to work. I will not be returning. read more

Love the food and the service is always great. I usually come at night and love the staff. Very polite and food is done right and very fast!
