Enter Fiesta Cancun where the vibes are fun, the staff is awesome (shoutout to my server Alex ), and the portions? HUGE. My meal rolled out looking like a foil-wrapped Italian beef , but surprise -- it was packed with tender meat + soft bread, and once I added my Mexican magic (jalapeños , lime , sour cream), it was fiesta-level flavor. This was our first time to stop...the outdoor seating caught our eye. We checked the menu and were looking fir a hood margarita...they had a 60oz. pitcher for $16.99 so thought we would give it a try. Chips and salsa delivered immediately to our table. The salsa was to mild for me...not a lot of taste and the margarita was mostly mix...did not taste any tequila...classic case of you get what you pay for! The interior of the restaurant was not very clean...napkins on the floor and just didn't feel clean. There is an extensive menu but did not try any of the food so not able to comment on food. read more

I've been here a few times and every time was good! They have a lunch menu and the portions are smaller - but you WILL get full. The lunch fajitas are around $10 and you get plenty of food with rice and beans and they are quick and efficient! The burritos are good! The veggie fajita wasn't my favorite (has carrots and cauliflower, I didn't love that! The guacamole is great! The queso is great! Tacos are good! We have been going here every Friday for years. Went tonight and had drinks with absolutely no alcohol. I mentioned this and was brought even worse drinks. Horrible service and mediocre food. When we tried to address our concerns they laughed. Was very disturbed that they would treat regular customers this way, or any customer for that matter. Will not be going back. read more

Overall this was a good restaurant and the food was good. We were seated immediately and since we already knew what we wanted to order, that went quickly also. We received a huge basket of chips with salsa. Our food arrived within 10 minutes, nice and hot. Unfortunately that was the last time we saw our server until he brought us our check. We were not asked how our food was or if we needed more water, which we did! Then after we received our check, we sat there not realizing that we needed to take it up to the register in the front. If the server mentioned that, he didn't say it loud and clear. We sat waiting for 10 minutes before we decided to go up front. First time and last time here. Ordered steak fajitas-- the poor steak was like quadruple cooked. Rubbery and terrible. Went to check out - was charged full price. Asked my server if he was going to discount my meal and he shrugged. Asked if I wanted to talk to the manager. I said no - I would have thought he would have told him. I was delighted to see the open sign and the door propped open at 10:55 a.m. Monday morning as I frequented this place on occasion. Got seated promptly behind a pair of women who came in just ahead of me. Got the chips and delicious salsa and a menu. Also received a nice glass of water. Watched the women get their order taken As I sat and waited. Watch the women get their delicious looking food 15 minutes later still waiting for my order be taken. Finally at 11:19 a.m. I rose from my chair walked to the front found no one there. Heard voices in the kitchen but saw no 1 so I left. I won't be back again. Ever. Nor will my family read more

I know better than to have high expectations for Mexican food in the Midwest, and wanted some variety in our dining out experiences. To my husband's surprise, i did not want to go to Carlos O'Kelley (i.e. gringo mexican food). So, i checked out yelp and found this restaurant. We were warmly greeted en espanol by my people and unconsciously my child like Spanish kicked in. As soon as we were seated, a huge basket of chips arrived along with a small caraf of salsa. I'm already swooning! My husband excuses himself to the men 's room and on the way back noted how sticky/greasy the table/booth areas felt and considered leaving. No! I exclaim! That's a sure sign they are frying/preparing everything from scratch! I swoon again! We place our orders and feast on the chips and salsa -- both fresh and delicious! Then i go and ruin it all by ordering a "lime" margarita. Judging from the drink menu, the only alcohol they sell are beer and wine based products. My guess is that the margarita is wine based because what arrives at the table is a weird looking green concotion in a glass crusted with some dark green powder on the rim and some kind of lime kool-aid or limeade drink with a strange taste to it. Initially, I don't like it. But by the time the food arrives, I have gotten over the disappointment thanks to the chips and salsa and we are old friends. I had a combo plate with an enchillada, taco, beans and rice. My husband has a beef quesadilla. We both enjoyed our food, although I was taken aback when I realized my dishes were made with ground beef, but we were in the mid west so . . . and everything was seasoned just right. And then adding that delicious salsa made everything right again. The enchilada sauce was very good and the beans and rice definitely tasted homemade. Overall, I would definitely seek this place out again, but skip the icky reunion with that margarita. read more

My hubby and I stopped here for a quick lunch in between appointments. Fast, friendly service, good food, tasty margaritas....reasonably priced. Their lunch specials run Monday-Saturday so that was a nice perk! We were pleasantly surprised. Pretty good food, but very poor service. Our group came when it was not busy. Got our drinks and they were wrong (which is no problem, that happens) so we kindly asked to have them fixed. We were served by 2 people (?), we asked the younger guy if could have them fixed and his response was "if they have time." Right before that, that server came over and just put up three fingers and stared at us. After asking what was up, he went "you need three straws?" And proceeded to throw them on our table. While the server was taking my order, he visibly got distracted while I was ordering. Food came, the cook served us, food was good. We had to wait a long time for our check, and when we asked the younger server he said "ask him." People who came after us, got their checks and left before we got our checks. Traveling Texan looking at reviews and responding to my hotel's recommendation. Picked this joint over Los Aztecas but their parking lot was full and Fiesta Cancun's was empty. Ordered enchiladas suizas with guacamole appetizer and a side of refried beans. They never brought the guacamole. The enchiladas were barely warm. The shredded chicken was tough and bland. I tasted oregano in the salsa, so it was pushed away. My empty iced tea glass was never refilled. Waited forever for my check and finally walked up to the cashier who was busy adding up receipts. So I had to wait even longer. They could not have cared less about me as a customer. Bad food and bad service. read more

Slow to take our order and slow to bring the food. Seems like there's two waiters for the entire place. When the quesadilla's came, they were ice cold, Ordered guac and didn't bring any additional chips, and never offered to refill our soda's/waters. Underwhelming to say the least. Great place! Food is delicious and so reasonably priced and the portions are very generous. Last time I had the House Fajitas and they were amazing. Usually with fajitas I expect 70% veggies but these were chalk full of delicious pork, beef, chicken and shrimp. So good! I am also surprised to see such outstanding reviews for this place. My companion and I agreed this restaurant will someday soon be on an episode of Restaurant Impossible. So, Robert Irvine, I am going to help you with your case. We arrived after 8pm on a Friday. The place was busy but not packed, and we were seated right away. The chips and salsa were very good, I'll give them that. The decor was very kitschy. This place is not a good date locale, more of a family cheap eats atmosphere. The menu had about 100 options. (Restaurant Impossible case prosecutor's Exhibit A). They did have a small vegetarian section which was greatly appreciated. I asked our server what he thought of the pomegranate margarita. He said he didn't know, he has never tried it. (Restaurant Impossible Exhibit B). I asked about the strawberry and he said it was good. I ordered it, and my companion ordered the pina colada margarita. The margaritas arrived about 5 minutes later (along with chips and salsa). The strawberry margarita was very red, Red 40 to be exact, and tasted exactly like a red slushy from the gas station. This was an F grade margarita. The pina colada margarita tasted EXACTLY like an old woman's perfumed handbag. (Restaurant Impossible Exhibit C and D). We were seated at a booth by the windows, and noticed cleaning products sitting on top of the near by room divider (Restaurant Impossible Exhibit E). Our food came very quickly, only minutes after the chips and salsa. I had ordered a vegetarian combo (similar prices to the meat dishes but significantly smaller portions) with one tostata and one cheese enchilada, which came with beans. My companion ordered chicken enchiladas (3), which came with beans and rice. My tostada was okay, but mostly beans and skimpy on the veggies and cheese. The beans were fine, not the best and not the worst I've ever had. BUT... The sauce on the enchiladas tasted EXACTLY (I mean, seriously, exactly) like the red sauce on Spaghettios.(Restaurant Impossible Exhibit F). We both agreed this was the flavor, and it was disgusting. When our server returned I asked him if the sauce was homemade or canned. He said it was homemade, everything is homemade. I said okay, it tastes like Spaghettio sauce. He then talked about the peppers not being hot during winter, etc. Then he walked away. As he was walking away, I definitely heard him say something to the air in front of him. I couldn't hear what it was, but I believe it was directed toward me. (Restaurant Impossible Exhibit G). A few minutes later he returned and asked if I would like something spicier. I declined. I scraped the sauce off the remainder of my tiny one enchilada. I would not return to this establishment nor would I recommend it. If that sauce is homemade, the chef should taste it and realize it should not be served to guests. read more

Food was ok , but don't come hungry. You will have to wait. This place was not busy. And they had to have a staff of at least 10 people working. There was no reason other then they where too busy cleaning . I had to go get my own straw for my drink and then I had to get waiter to order my food after waiting almost 20 minutes. Then when the meals came out it was only a partial order and we had to get our waiter to find out where the rest was. His reply was it was coming. My husband replied it would have been nice to let us know instead of dropping off the plates and leaving. We decided to try this place for dinner because my girlfriend had never been to this one (I had a long, long time ago). The interior is clean and oh so touristy. We were seated promptly and our drinks were brought out quickly with the chips and salsa. The chips are nothing special, but they aren't bad either. The salsa is average, nothing to brag about, but not bad either. She wanted something chicken and the waiter recommended the grilled chicken with onions. I ordered the crab chimichanga. It didn't take too long for our plates to come out. The grilled chicken and onions was wonderful according to my girlfriend (and it was when I took a bite out of it). The crab chimichanga was good, but sadly lacking on crab...it could have used a lot more. The spanish rice and such were also good. Fiesta Cancun is by far my favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. I constantly crave the chiles rellenos, they are absolutely divine. I usually go for lunch and order the speedy gonzales (taco, enchilada, burrito, rice, and beans) and a chile relleno. So good, so filling, and the service is fast. In high school I often used this place to "estudio mi hablar de espanol" (practice speaking spanish), since the wait staff always humored me and my broken, proper (aka irrelevant and ancient) spanish. long story short: This place will always hold a special place in my heart. read more

We drive from Galena to eat in this restaurant, that is how much we love it. Mejor! My husband and I love the fajitas, having eaten at many many Mexican restaurants I have NEVER seen the different varieties of fajitas, at least 8 styles, DELICIOUS! The salsa is so fresh, we always take some home. The last time we ate there about 2 weeks ago we had the parillas, which is a small grill with a variety of meats piled on top of peppers, nopales, onions...WOW! This place it's my favorite Mexican restaurant around East Iowa. The food is always delicious. Lots of flavors. The drinks are also very tasty and the service has always always been top notch!
