We really like chick-Fil-a's food, but every time we go we are disappointed. First, our order was wrong. Second, can an employee please just mention the sauces when ordering?! We don't go very often and always forget that you have to ask, then we get home with no sauce. This is super inconvenient for people who are not "regulars" and don't know the ins and outs of chick-Fil-a. It's just annoying that every time we go something is wrong with our order. For the price, it would be nice to get what we paid for... and maybe even a couple sauces. The milkshakes are on point though! read more

I'm a loyal customer with them and we went to this location at 10:30 am to get their breakfast sandwiches which are delicious. We get up to the register after waiting in line. I order and It's 10:31 and a heavy set lady tells us "no more breakfast" I said we were in line and it's 1 minute later. You don't have any left out? The food here is awesome, as one would expect from CFA. But beyond that the people who work here are amazing and they have great franchise ownership. Despite what you might think about CFA as a brand I can say that this location is a welcoming and inclusive place. If you're ever in Dubuque you should stop in and get a frosted lemonade. read more

Have tried this place twice now, probably will never be a third. Our first visit was for dinner and we each ordered the 8 piece nuggets. Can't understand how they can call them nuggets when each one is barely a bite. The waffle fries were good though, but not for the cost. Second time was for breakfast, just a couple chicken biscuits to go. Had to stand there and watch the employee pick up her phone every few seconds then when our food was put up from the kitchen she decided to text for about 3 minutes before putting our food in a bag and give it to us. I'm on a cross-country road trip and heard about Chick-Fil-A giving out free sandwiches. I pulled into the drive-through and asked if the Chick-fil-A was giving free sandwiches and they told me yes, if I was dressed like a cow. I am not dress like a cow. It was too late to turn around. I had to sit in the drive-through and wait for 10 minutes to get out of there. Not even a glass of water. I've never received bad service at a Chick-fil-A. I suppose they were just doing their job, but this is what you get when you have 15-year-olds running your business. Went her Friday night April 13th. When I went in it was fairly slow, ordered a couple chicken sandwiches to go. One for my drive home, one for the next day since I don't get Chick fil a too often. I asked for extra pickles on the the spicy chicken sandwich and there were none, I was like whatever still worth it since I usually love Chick fil a. Well the sandwich must have been sitting a while because the bun was hard and crumbly/stale. Wasn't worth driving back since I was already on my way home. Easily the best Chick-fil-A I've ever been to! And I've been to dozens. Heck, I even have two friends who own their own franchises and theirs don't come close. I should've known when walked in and the line was 10 deep that this place was in demand. Despite the crowd, I got my order taken fast and my food even faster. What I witnessed the next 30 minutes was the best restaurant teamwork ever. It's almost like everyone knew they were being graded. The tables were cleaned quickly, every order came out fast, those behind the counter had each other's backs, and all floor employees asked all customers if they'd like refills or wanted their trash disposed. The service was fair. The young lady who took our order was polite though hard to understand, and though there was too much commotion at the window, they figured it out and got us our food. The wait was 15 minutes, which is too long for fast food in my opinion, especially with tandem order placing. That is all I can say good about the place. The food was terrible. The chicken was rubbery and the sandwiches were soggy. The waffle fries were not good at all and all of the food was either overly seasoned or not seasoned at all. The tomatoes and lettuce on the sandwich were fresh but I will not frequent a fast food restaurant for produce. I would have been willing to try again because the service was nice enough, though hectic, but we couldn't even finish our food and went somewhere else for dinner. 5 stars is not enough to describe this place!! Probably the best place to eat in Dubuque they have amazing chicken and ice cream and the service is exceptional, they are always so polite and brighten my whole day. They always go the extra mile by giving extra dipping sauces and putting cherries on their milkshakes.The drive through is extremely efficient even during a rush and somehow they still manage to make you feel like a valued customer. The food is always good, very annoying to have to sit in a small section, because they were cleaning up for the night. Also kids could not play in their indoor playground, also because they were cleaning. My feeling is, businesses should allow customers to have the best experience during hours of operation. When the business closes, it is at that time that is most appropriate to shut things down and clean. Also had to here employees moving furniture around. read more

Chic-Fil-A is a favorite restaurant of my wife and I, so when we've travelled through Dubuque, we were excited to see that a Chic-Fil-A was built there, that is, until we ate there. The first time eating there, we waited 15-20 minutes for food that was clearly not fresh with fairly poor service compared to the high standards one almost always finds at this chain. I gave them the benefit of the doubt on that one, thinking maybe they just had a bad day. A few months later coming through, we tried them again. Same story, but even worse. The person taking my order was extremely confused, seemingly distracted. After correctly reading back my order though, we waited for another 15 minutes or so and ended up not even receiving an item I ordered and the drink was messed up. Being that we went drive-thru and were on a trip and considering the snails pace they operated, we didn't bother going in to correct the order. Sadly, we won't be back. The one bright spot was that the manager at the window was cheerful, friendly, and helpful, so he bumped them up to 2 stars. read more

The Dubuque restaurant is scheduled to be open until 10pm. There were several patrons questioning why the restaurant is in "closing mode" 90 minutes before closing time. Myself and my two children arrived at 8:25pm. I did a double take at the door as half of the restaurant was already closed off, chairs on tables. There was a woman in the area that was being cleaned and looked disturbed about the staff moving all the chairs around her. She also questioned why this is occurring as the restaurant doesn't close until 10pm. The staff indicated that "its policy" that they are out by exactly 10pm. She then asked for manager and a young man in a blue shirt also indicated "its policy" and that there is nothing that can be done about it. My reason for going to Chick Fil A was for the excellent food and the normally good customer service experience. I also inquired about the play area as that was something my children were looking forward to. I asked staff if my children could enter that area as the tables with the high stools and the female staff hesitantly suggested that my 6 year old daughter could walk across the mopped floor to enter the area. I said that I am not at all comfortable with that and that she should not be comfortable with that either. Not to mention a huge safety issue for both Chick Fil A and my daughter. This was at 8:50pm... one hour and ten minutes before closing. We did not feel welcome at all at Chick Fil A tonight. The other groups in the restaurant also looked very annoyed as its very uncomfortable having tables moved and mop buckets being slushed around while trying to enjoy a meal. Staff did not give names of any managers upon me asking. I do not plan on returning. I have never had an experience in feeling so unwelcomed in a restaurant. I also left at the same time as two other parties and they also indicated that they will also not be returning. read more
