Well c'mon people with the 2 stars the place says Gringo on the sign. Expecting anything else is simply asinine. The service was quick, they're killing it with the concept and has been around for 10 yrs. Their sauce is everywhere, at Lund's, Kowalski's, Cub, and even Walmart! That is a serious success story by any standards. The food was great for what it is: Americanized Mexican food. They are proud of it, and they should be. If you like Taco Bell, Chipotle, and liked places like Chi Chi's, La Casita, El Loro, and Acapulco, then this is like the best of all of that. Their Southwest sauce is truly awesome. It is very heavy on mayo, so take it easy! It is very heavy and sits there like a lump if you're not careful. All-in-all we will definitely be back while we're on this stretch of 94. Of course having been recommended by my brother who is a retired executive chef says something.

Food was ready in literally 3 mins. Dont even sit down . I was the only one there tho. The taco gringo southwestern sauce has msg butter egg sugar etc. Tacos r huge full of hella meat. Meat quality is great. All ingredients were quality. Black beans tasted fresh. The beef taste better than the chicken. The burrito bowl fried tortilla was actually good. Prices are fair. Fries were good. If you love fries get an extra order, the portion is small.

We have wanted to try this place for a long time. We have purchased their signature sauce and use it regularly. We ordered the cabin crunch. Great flavor, good amount of filling. We also got the chicken queso supremes burrito. This was a large burrito stuff with fresh ingredients. This was large enough that we could split it between two people. Now the show stopper was the chorizo queso fries. The fries were extra crispy with lots of flavorful chorizo, lots of queso and their signature sauce (which comes with every item). I have read several reviews complaining that this is not authentic Mexican. The name says that it is not authentic. The staff Ian and Connor made the experience even better. Fun and knowledgeable. We also received a 10% off for being in EMS. Clean establishment.

Gringo is basically roughly translated to mean non-Mexican person. And their food tastes like it was made by a non-Mexican person. This has got to be some of the most bland Mexican food I have had for awhile. The steak burrito I got was big. I will give it that. But when I took a bite I saw why it was so big, full of rice and about nothing else. And we are talking basically white rice, the flecks of spice can't justify this rice to be Mexican rice. I got fajita veggies in my burrito, which amounted to two pieces of onion and pepper. And don't give me that crap that this food is Minn-Mex, there is no such thing. Mexican food without any kind of seasoning or spice is not Mexican food just like seafood without the sea isn't seafood. If I wanted tasteless hamburger and rice I would buy hamburger helper for a buck and cook it at home. And tasteless is not an excuse for food ever so don't call it Minn-Mex... The chips that came with it were deep fried to a dark brown crisp and tasted like deep fried junk. YUCK. Ate one and threw the rest, luckily you don't get many to start off with. Their secret sauce is not really secret, ranch dressing with taco seasoning mixed in. Yipee. I can't believe they got Lunds and Byerly's to sell it for $4.99, what a joke. The decor was tacky and a hodgepodge of random things. And would you stop printing out sheets of paper and using them as signs? Who is going crazy in the back with the printer?? Chipotle is the same price. Check please.

    Rice still raw

Parked my truck at TA and went to grab a dinner the foods is good but the rice was really raw not even cooked good than I went again asked them for salsa sauce and they charged me again for it, I know every Mexican restaurant will bring you salsa sauce free.

Poor service and very bland flavorless food. The floors were sticky and the restroom was filthy. Very disappointing.

Very often we have taco night at Taco Gringo. We have never been disappointed. Large portions and typically very little wait.

The service was friendly but the food is just very bland. Not a fan of the meals we had there and won't probably return.

And these are not wimpy tacos. These are generous sized tacos, generous sides and a generous salsa bar. There is minor confusion when you walk in because the restaurant and grocery store occupy the same space. You order at the food counter but you don't pay until AFTER you finish the meal. Seating is around the corner, tucked away. Also note these tacos take time. It's not the order and you get your meal right away. Expect to sit around 10 minutes or so before your food arrives but it's worth it because it's so good and filling. The ambiance is no frills and sparse but if you can overlook that and just enjoy the tacos, this place is worth a visit.

There wasn't anyone working in the kitchen so I used my Spanish and asked if I could order. The gentleman seemed bothered but made my two tacos. I'm not sure if there's certain lunch times but I went around 2pm. He then had the female worker ring me up. Pleas note they take cards for a minimum of $8. Plan ahead everyone. She was very nice. I got a carnitas and a barbacoa taco. Both were pretty good. No complaints. Each came with onion and cilantro on top. It also came with garnishes of radish lime and salsas. Great prices. Great meats.
