Their breakfast is at least a weekly visit for us! They have your typical American biscuits (which are huge) or they have Mexican options! I usually have breakfast tacos and fruit and my husband has one of their spicy Mexican options. Their breakfast staff is exceptional! So while their lunch/dinner can be hit or miss service, we almost always have excellent service at breakfast and leave full and happy! read more

Stopped here for lunch after finding it on Yelp.The service was quick and friendly. Crisp hot chips and a carafe of salsa with two bowls arrived at our table immediately. My companion raved about her tortilla soup. It was a large hearty bowl with a lot of vegetables and chicken. I had cheese enchiladas with red sauce and guacamole. The red sauce was complex, a little smoky, almost a mole. The guacamole had jalapenos and they added a good bit of salad which l always enjoy. Excellent lunch! I ordered the supreme nachos and after I ate a couple bites I vomited in the bathroom. Pretty sure I was given food poisoning. Boyfriend ordered street tacos and fries, got fries on his tacos when they came out like wtf. When he sent the order back you could hear the server audibly throw his plate hard. This is one of our favorite Mexican restaurants, the staff is so friendly and fun. Great chips and salsa's, cheese dip Is very tasty. We eat al fresco (outside) there it's so nice they have fans and big tables inside is small and a little claustrophobic. Food is very good they serve America and Mexican breakfast which is very popular. Lunch has great offering and drinks at a great price. Dinner early happy hour and Very good Mexican food. I like it all Been going here for years and never unhappy. Clean, great service and yummy food that is not expensive How can you lose. read more

BEWARE: MONSTER OMELETTE! Building resembles a Taco Bell type structure with eclectic decor and a few TVs. Nice shades patio. Came for breakfast. Went with the "whole" omelette for 7.99. Holy smokes, that is a large plate of food. Get the side of potatoes w peppers and Carmelized onions for $1.99. No frills but great basics at a great price. Very tasty. Very affordable. Taco Felix is a nice little restaurant that serves good, fairly priced breakfast food in the mornings, and good Mexican food by day/night. Staff is always super friendly to us, especially the ladies that work the morning breakfast shift. Mediocre on it's best day. Confusing menu when you walk in. Weird vibes with all the TVs displaying the menu so it's hard to order. Overpriced and oddly portioned meals. Food is okay. Doesn't offer coke products, only Pepsi. Nice patio, people seem good just not very impressed. read more

I decided to try out Taco Felix after my mom talked about how amazing the breakfast was. I was unsure how great a breakfast place with a lunch/dinner name would be. It was actually really good. I ordered the southern comfort platter and the best thing was the giant homemade biscuit! The gravy was a little bland bit other than that the food was really good. The service was also really good. Our server was constantly checking up on us and asking if we needed anything. This is definitely one of those places where you get that warm welcoming feeling and the people there make you want to come back. read more

I pass this location a couple times per week and finally decided to try it last week since there are always plenty of customers. We were immediately greeted and seated as we came in out of the rain. Drinks and apps were promptly served shortly thereafter. I had the grilled chicken tacos and my daughter ordered the cheesesteak (don't ask me why). Food was tender, juicy and flavorful. Unbelievably good food and portions along with great pricing. Everything tastes fresh and backed up by a super friendly staff. I travel to Memphis occasionally and stay at a VRBO in Hernando because it has everything to offer away from the city. I stumbled upon Taco Felix when I realized the Waffle House only took cash. What a gem! We were visiting from out of state and went for dinner. So tasty. I had the taco salad. It came in a flour tortilla made into a taco shape. Service was very good and it was a great deal at $30 for 2 adults and 2 kids. My only sort of complain't would be that salsa in this region seems to be more like tomato sauce. read more

Late night dinner run after a long day had me ending up here. I was greeted quickly and i asked about take out. I was given a menu and asked to seat myself. It took almost 10 minutes before i was visited again for my order. I ordered my to go dinner. I was given chips and salsa and my beverage while I waited. 12 minutes later a hot meal packaged and ready to go was delivered. I ordered a chicken tamale which was a little dry but full of flavor. The beef enchilada had a great tomato sauce and was well seasoned. The chili relleno is the best in Hernando. Fun environment and clean.Great food at a great price. read more

Very unexpected place for breakfast, but absolutely delicious. The service was great and the food came out pretty quick even though they were busy. Definitely my favorite Mexican place in desoto county so far. I live in Southaven but gladly drive to hernando to eat here. Great prices and great food!!! Best chips and salsa I've had so far. Great cheese dip. Today I had the burrito California, which was delicious, everything you'd expect. My husband gets the shredded chicken burritos which he loves. I tried a small 1800 margarita today which was also great! Service is fast and friendly, there isn't very many tables so I'd suggest trying to go before the typical rush. read more

Standard Mexican fare with limited indoor seating, we heard through the grapevine about the breakfast and cat-head biscuits. The breakfast was well prepared, biscuits were huge but a little cake-like and the service was not disappointing. All that aside, this restaurant should not disappoint for the price. Best breakfast in town. One thing Hernando has (oddly enough) is Mexican restaurants. Taco Felix separates its self by opening early and offering a blend of traditional southern and Mexican breakfast dishes. Fair warning, if you get the large omelet, it's MASSIVE. read more

I'm not one to leave a bad review because I work in a restaurant and understand the frustrations of working in one. But tonight, we stayed at this restaurant for 12 minutes passed close because we lost track of time. A kind and simple "we are closed" would have sufficed, and we would have left. But instead, we were approached by a woman who was apparently a friend of the manager and she told us that our good time was "ruining [her] good f*cking time." I have always enjoyed this restaurant and the service is always great. But tonight was completely disrespectful and unacceptable. Came here for breakfast and was so excited to see the Mexican breakfast dishes. I decided to go with the huevos rancheros. Do not- I repeat do not get the huevos rancheros if you've actually had a good one before. They slap rice and beans on a plate then they put two over easy (they weren't runny.. actually extremely overcooked) on the side of the rice and beans with red salsa over the eggs. Not just any red salsa.... the kind that comes in the clear jugs that you get when you sit down at a Mexican restaurant for lunch and then they put a side of flour tortillas on the side wrapped in foil.... like you would get when ordering fajitas at a Mexican restaurant. I only give it two stars because my dad ordered a traditional breakfast and it looked decent. read more

Not very authentic... I ordered a sopes and it was on a pita bread!! Also drinks are way overpriced ... $7 a mixed drink with cheap rail liquor in it. When I asked for salsa they brought me hot sauce - Louisiana and franks red hot . If you like Mexican food keep moving ... Mi Pueblo is at the next light .. also server was ditzy .. forgot her notebook and pen, came back and was out of Bloody Mary mix, then didn't know how to make another drink I ordered .. overall not a good experience and my bill was 47 dollars for a little pita bread taco and 3 drinks I will never be back here again read more

Food was tasty, chips were warm, and everything was obviously homemade--or they fooled me really well. They even gave me a choice of salsa with or without cilantro, which I've never had happen at a Mexican restaurant. Everyone was prepared to do what it took to make me happy, not just my waiter. The SO and I just got back from a meal at Taco Felix in Hernando, MS and all I can say is WOW! The SO ordered El Angel Polo ($9.95). She received a large flattened, grilled, Chicken breast. Covered with grilled onions, green peppers, red peppers, tomatoes, topped with queso cheese and shaved ham. I got the half chicken half beef fajitas ($9.80). My dish had the same grilled veggies. Both dishes had beans and rice. The portions were large enough that neither of us could finish our meal. Taste and quality was first rate as was the service Total bill including 2 bottled domestic beers and 1 iced tea $30.01. Rumor has it that they serve a mean breakfast too. Amazing, authentic, inexpensive Mexican food. You will not be disappointed. Yes, if you come before 5 the drinks are ridiculously cheap, but even after that the prices are right. The service was awesome--constant attentiveness and genuine friendliness from the servers. In addition to the wonderful food, I ordered a horchata and it was amazing. I couldn't eat or drink everything I was given, and my bill was less than $10. I did the ala cart so I could try a little bit of everything, and I was not disappointed. Came here while visiting a friend! I had high expectations based on reviews and word of mouth. The prices are great and proportions are large, but my food was ice cold. I had the Southern Stack. I can make better pancakes in my home. It could just be that the pancakes aren't up to par with everything else or maybe it was a fluke.
