The food was really tasty! I had a regular tamale, and my hubby ordered the Burrito Deluxe -- both were satisfying and full of flavor. The queso cheese was seasoned, which was a little unusual, but it added a nice flavorful twist that we actually enjoyed. We also tried the pineapple margarita served inside a real pineapple, such a fun presentation! It was refreshing and made for the perfect summer beverage. The waiter was nice and attentive, and we were seated immediately, which was a great start to the evening. Our first time here was Saturday night, and we came back for lunch on Sunday. So you can probably guess we liked it...we liked it a lot. The parking lot was packed but they were able to immediately seat us. That was great. They have plenty of seating. The staff was prompt and did a great job cooking and serving our meals. Awesome! Now the most important part is the quality and taste of the food. They knocked it out of the park. The tamales were excellent. I loved the house potatoes. It's a nice change up from rice, however, the rice is spot on too. My wife loved her chimichanga meal. Better yet, the prices are very fair. There is great value for your eating-out dollars. All I can say is the atmosphere looked pleasant I can't review anything r we law because as a handicapped person in a wheelchair we were turned away because wheelchairs are "taboo" according to the seater. This was very disheartening because we were hungry and my sugar was falling almost to the dangerous levels. Nope...nope...nope We have eaten here three times and each time it has steadily gotten worse. Fathers day was the last straw. Our waitress cut off a group leaving so we kindly waited for them to negotiate the small isle before we followed. Our trek down that isle should have come with water skis because the floor was soaked. She then walked us right behind a large table that we had to squeeze around and make our apologizes for disrupting their lunch. We sat for a few minutes before our waiter showed up and took our drink order. We ordered our drinks and a small cheese dip. Got a cheese dip that looked like it had been sitting on the counter long enough to have a nice cheesy skin on it. Still had not received any chips ot silverware. Waited patiently for 15 minutes without seeing anyone who worked there. We finally decided to leave. I walked up to pay for our drinks and told the lady we had been waiting forever. She really couldnt have cared any less. She told me not to worry about paing for the drinks because the ticket wasnt even in the system. We will be permanently passing on this restaurant in the future. I can understand if a place is busy but we were one of two tables. read more

The food and service were good. BUT the big turnoff is the smell of cigarette smoke coming in the doors. I would suggest sitting in the back. I thought there were rules about staying 25 feet or more from the doors when smoking. I am very offended by being forced to breathe somebody else's cancer-causing drug addiction. Non-smokers should be protected at all costs to the smokers, in my opinion. 11/6/17 - My family and I have been to Guadalajara in Hernando many times now and have found it to be the best there is. I don't think I have ever had a bad meal there and most of the time the service is great. If you ask for Miguel or Victor, the service will be top-notch. As for my previous comments about the cigarette smoke, this is not Guadalajara's fault. You'd think people would have enough common sense to respect other people, but smokers don't. The waitress never put our order in but walked by several times saying it would be right out. Several large parties arrived after us and had their food (different waiter). We walked out. The usual basket of chips was half full. We order cheese dip and guacamole and the cheese dip was very small and the guacamole was out of a jar. It was not freshly made. Salsa was bland. So right then we knew something was amiss. Plus each was $3.99. Overpriced. My wife got the crunchy tacos and I ordered cheese enchiladas and what was described as a fried potato side and rice. Her tacos were okay, lots of meat. My rice couldn't have been more dry and the potato side thing was a shaped pile of what looked like mashed potatoes and they were cold. Zero taste, not even potato. And to top it off! The cheese in my enchilada wasn't even melted! Blasphemy! Enchilada sauce? Just didn't taste it. I love authentic Mexican food so I know how it should taste. When the restaurant first opened, their food was wonderful, but now it's mediocre. First off, the restaurant is beautiful and has plenty of space. The lighting is also wonderful because it sets the tone for a more intimate dinner. When it comes down to customer service, they don't deserve one star. There's rarely someone at the front entrance to greet you. There are no smiles nor do they give vibes of a friendly atmosphere. My husband and I ordered a Taco Salad and drink. As I was sipping my drink, I noticed a bug in my drink. We had to flag down the waitress to let her know about my drink. Her dry response and a lack of sincere apology prompted us to cancel our order. Once she left to cancel it, She never came back to the table. We got up and left. They also dont waste any part of the tomato here.In our fajita for two I found at least three stem scars/cores , the tough brown part most restaurants discard.We also ordered a quesadilla. Who has ever heard of a quesadilla served without cheese? After all , queso is cheese. The service was just as awful .I had to ask for lemon for my ice tea 3 times before eventually receiving it. After finishing our meal ( we actually didn't eat it all of it ) I unsuccessfully attempted to flag down our waiter for the bill .He came in and out of the kitchen almost a dozen times to serve 3 other tables that were closer to the kitchen without looking our way. After 15 minutes of frustration I eventually got out of my seat and chased him down for the bill. Do yourself a favor and find another Mexican restaurant to patronize.
