The flavors were so fresh and full of umami, it was a burst of goodness that you must try! I asked someone about this - turns out he was the chef! I forget his name but he was so gracious in explaining the salsas he creates and adds to the juice for that delicious burst of flavors! I had never seen this before. It elevated that dish so much. He spoke about how this is actually traditional in his hometown in MX. He then surprised us when he came out with 2 small bowls of the salsas, one brown and one deeper red. So delicious and fun to taste on their own and with chips too! I had a combo plate with the chili verde enchilada and chili relleno. My husband had asked for his chimi to have red sauce and I had asked for mine with green, they both came mixed with both sauces on them. The red sauce wasn't very good and it was weird being mixed. My chimi wasn't very well cooked, kinda doughy in the middle. Grabbed 2 super burritos with everything and some chips. The burrito itself was pretty good, it needed more sour cream and guacamole as it was a little drier than I liked. The ample cheese did help out though. I also really liked the tortilla. Not sure if it was housemade but it had a bit of a chew to it which I liked. Pricing was also fair, $15 each. Now, why did I reduce stars? A few different factors: 1. First off the address takes you to a back empty lot which is fine if you know the area. But I didnt know the area and had a hard time finding the entrance. 2. Their menu is not very clear. They dont list the type of meats they have and on the section where the super burrito is, it has on the top "served with fresh handmade torillas, rice and beans" While I think for this item, the rice and beans were inside it seems confusing since I now expected rice and beans on the side. 3. Walking it, it seems empty and odd. Such as a restuarant that doesnt quite fit? 4. Bathrooms were smelly and dirty.. With no guests there you would think they would take the time to clean it and sanitize.... Overall, the food saved their stars. I would give it a 3.5 and hope they can improve the other factors.

I explained to my wife that I was in the mood for some good Mexican food and since we saw this place driving past our Hotel I had mentioned that maybe this would be a great place to eat at. Being that this was our first time being here the minute we walked into the Restaurant, I immediately knew that the food was going to be good. First off the restaurant had beautiful decor and it was very well lit. We than got seated and while looking over the menu, during our time figuring out what we wanted to eat, all of a sudden the lights went off and then other lights started flashing as if I was at a disco. Then right afterwards I heard people started singing Happy Birthday but in a way that I have never heard before. It was very original and I enjoyed it very much. It went something like "Happy Birthday (Pause), Happy Birthday, (Pause), Thank you for celebrating (Pause), with us at La Cabana. So you should eat some cake" Our waitress came by and had asked if we knew what we wanted to drink, my wife said Dr Pepper and I said Horchata. Whenever I go to an authentic Mexican Restaurant I always try and drink some authentic Horchata. Afterwards my wife ordered some Queso and then the waitress told us that it was spicy but it was only Jalapeno spiciness. So we said yes we would take it but to leave those off of the top of the Queso. She finally brought that over with the chips and let me tell you, the Queso was spicy but not to bad to the point where it wasnt enjoyable. We then ordered our Entrees and so my wife ordered the Tequila Lime Pechuga Asada and I got the Pescado Burrito. After a couple of minutes our food came out, our eyes got really big because we didnt expect our food to be so big. Let me tell you the price of the food is certainly well deserved with the portion of the food. After taking a couple of bites of my Burrito, drinking my Horchata and eating some Chips & Queso, my wife and I both agreed that we will be back to La Cabana to eat this place again. However. I think the next time we wont order 2 plates but maybe we will just share one. The plate of food my wife got was, so much food that 2 people could share generous portions. The chips were fresh, I did taste the guacamole and the sour cream and everything was delicious. We will be back and this will be favorited as a place we will return to every time we visit Suisun City.

He came back shortly with chips and salsa and waters. We took a few minutes before we ordered and for our order we ordered the Birria tacos that came with beans and rice and the enchilada and Tamale with beans and rice. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really delicious. It was just enough spice in it and the flavor was great. Our entrees came out shortly which was pretty fast. The Birria tacos were fresh and hot, the flavor was great, and the dipping sauce completed the tacos. The Tamale and Enchilada was also delicious. The Chicken inside the enchilada was tender and tasty, the tamale was also fresh, tender, and cooked perfect. The highlight of the meal even with everything tasting great already were the beans. The beans had so much flavor to them, and cooked perfect. I don't know what they put in the beans or how they make them but, they are the best refried beans I've ever had. Our waiter was really good, I didn't get his name but kudos to him as well. The place is really big inside and has outside seating, with a bar area as well. I recently had the pleasure of taking food to go at Taco Exxpress. It was a delicious experience from start to finish. The pozole stood out right away -- rich, hearty, and bursting with authentic flavor. Each spoonful was warm and satisfying, making it a must-try for anyone who enjoys traditional Mexican soups. The quesabirria was another highlight. It was generously filled with tender, flavorful beef, and the crispy shell added the perfect texture. Dipping it in the accompanying consommé took it to the next level. I'm giving it a 4 star because I did not enjoy the steak tacos as much as the pazole and quesabirria. It was a little dry and bland. Also, the pazole didn't have that much garbanzos. But overall, Taco Exxpress is definitely worth a visit especially if you're craving bold flavors and comforting Mexican food. read more

The tacos were okay, but unfortunately the customer service left a bad impression…read more I ordered a fairly large amount of tacos and didn't realize that such a generous amount of salsa would already be poured directly onto them. Most taco trucks I've been to either provide salsa on the side so you can add it yourself or only add a small amount. When I ordered "everything," I assumed that meant onions and cilantro. Once I saw how much hot sauce was being added, I simply asked if they could leave it off three of the asada tacos because my mom can't handle spicy food. Instead of just making the small adjustment, the person preparing the tacos--who I'm assuming was the business owner--went and got the person handling payments and orders. She then came over and told me that I should have said something ahead of time and that I was confusing them. I apologized and explained that I had misunderstood what "everything" included and genuinely didn't realize the tacos would come with that much hot sauce already on them. The ordering process itself was also confusing. There weren't clear directions explaining that you had to purchase the tacos in a separate line first and then bring a ticket over to the taco truck. I stood in line outside for about ten minutes in extremely hot weather before realizing I needed to order and pay somewhere else first. It was an honest misunderstanding and a very small request. I wasn't asking them to remake my entire order; I was simply asking them to leave the salsa off three tacos once I realized how they were being prepared. Being spoken to that way in front of a line of people felt unnecessary and embarrassing, especially after I had already apologized and explained the misunderstanding. As a business owner myself, this is what bothered me the most. Misunderstandings happen, especially when the ordering process isn't completely clear. I would never make a paying customer feel uncomfortable over such a minor request when it could have been resolved so easily with a little patience and understanding. What made the interaction even more disappointing was the reason we were there in the first place. This was a special event raising money for a family after my friend's uncle was tragically killed in a hit-and-run. I brought my family specifically to support the fundraiser and contribute to a good cause. Given the circumstances, I would have expected a little more patience and respect toward the people who came out to support the family. The food itself was fine, and I was happy to support the fundraiser, but the way such a simple misunderstanding was handled made the experience unnecessarily uncomfortable. A little kindness and better communication would have gone a long way.
