Venue / Location This place was easy to find as its centrally located off the freeway, right by Solano Mall! There was plenty of parking, especially because it was a Sunday afternoon. I can't say I wasn't a little disappointed as they only offered the brunch menu for lunch after I had spent the better part of the morning drooling over the main seafood dishes served during dinner! But I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the brunch menu items...and that was my oversight. As a party of 10, I proactively made a reservation on open table as I didn't anyone getting hangry - including myself. Lol! When we arrived, it was super quiet and we were seated quickly! This place is SO IG friendly! Lots of lovely spaces in the restaurant for pics AND the food and drink presentation was ON POINT! Chicharrón and guacamole were delish. Everything was tasty! Only missed regular tortilla chips! lol! That's me! All dishes were beautifully plated and mouth watering. Run, don't walk! It's not cheap, but great quality!

Ok so this one hurts , had so much hope for this place ! So let's start with the positive, the ambiance was very nice and trendy , the restaurant was also very clean . Our waiter Luis was great , but other than that everything else was bad . Ordered 3 different style enchiladas, Mole , Verde , and some type of peanut cream sauce ,, the Verde was decent , the the rest was not so good chicken was full of water and tough . Also ordered the Filet Mignon , I ordered it Med Rare and it came out well done , it was tough and had little to no flavor , the potatoes that it came with were hard and seemed old , EVERYTHING needed salt . The beans , rice , Guac , all had little to no flavor . Unfortunately this was a let down , there was a couple more issues but I'll just leave this review as is , I would never even consider going back.

Our experience at Mama Por Dios was absolutely exceptional. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional--the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and most importantly, the service surpassed all expectations. Michael was outstanding. He went above and beyond to ensure every aspect of our dining experience was flawless. He took the time to expertly explain the menu, answered all our questions, and offered incredible recommendations for our dinner, sides, beverages, and desserts. Every suggestion was perfect, and we enjoyed every bite. What truly distinguishes Michael is his authentic passion for hospitality. He was attentive without being intrusive, personable, knowledgeable, and highly professional. He anticipated our needs, checked on us throughout the evening, and made us feel like valued guests from start to finish. The servers at Mama Por Dios exemplify unmatched professionalism, attentiveness, and dedication to creating an unforgettable dining experience. They set the highest standard for outstanding customer service. Our evening was flawless, largely thanks to Michael's exceptional service. If you dine at Mama Por Dios, insist on requesting Michael. He is an invaluable asset to the restaurant and consistently delivers a service level that deserves recognition. This was a 10 out of 10 experience, and we will definitely return!

Claudia was our waitress and she was very attentive and nice. The pictures of this place honestly do it no justice because the whole entire restaurant is a vibe and you just have to go to feel it! IYKYK! Food is really good and the dining is a real experience! You come in and immediately feel like you have been transported to some sort of high end travel destination. Caludia came over with water and a player that honestly looked like an assortment of sushi but nope it was perfectly thin sliced cuts of fruit to flavor your water! I mean come on that was chefs kiss! Fancy Fancy! Even 5 star restaurants we have visited didn't offer this type of service. We definitely want to come back the next time we are out this way!

I came in here for drinks and appetizers before I went to go see a play. I initially thought we would just sit at the bar and eat, but they do not have a seated bar area so you do have to sit at a table. But it was easy enough to get a table for two that day - there was maybe a 5 minute wait. Mama Por Dios was quite the experience! And in the best way possible. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into every single detail of the restaurant. In addition to the excellent service, this place was beyond beautiful. Even the bathroom area. There were so many spots to take cute pictures. This would be a great place for a girls night or date night. I ordered a lychee on the beach - which they made table side. And not pictured, but they set our drink on fires which was beyond cool. The chips and guacamole were good. And the cauliflower was amazing. It was lightly fried with a sauce that taste similar to firecracker shrimp. Our waitress was so sweet and attentive. I'll definitely be back for a real meal.

We went for my cousins birthday dinner and it was a really nice experience. We had a nice and attentive waiter. It was also my first time coming here and I can honestly say the food and drinks were delicious. As an appetizer, we ordered this cheese bread and it was so yummy. The bread in itself was super soft. For my main course, I ordered two cheese enchiladas and the order came with beans and green rice on the side. I have never had green rice until this dinner and I can say, it was so delicious! The green sauce on the enchiladas was also very delicious. Now, the drinks were very good and came in nice cups that seemed fitting. I ordered El Tama which is the drink in the longer cup. It had squirt, tamarind vodka, salt and lime juice. Everything that I love put together. They have signature cocktails that I also wanted to try but didn't get the chance to. I would love to come back to try some more. The ambiance was dim lit and had almost like a club feel to it. There was energetic and dance music playing at all times. I believe their signature is when people celebrate birthdays and the workers come out and sing happy birthday. They come out with bottles and flash some lights to give it a nightclub feeling. I will say, we did think that the singing happy birthday was complimentary like most places do but if you want that experience then you have to pay almost $40 for a 10 second moment so keep that in mind. In the end, I enjoyed the food and drinks a lot!

We saw the videos of influencers dining here (and we even saw some posing for their phones by the bathrooms) talking about this place. We also saw the reviews on yelp that were pointing to the contrary. We decided to give it an honest chance and a group of us went last night (Saturday night). This was our experience. One of the first things you notice outside is the sign saying there is a two hour sitting limit at your table. Then when you first walk in you're hit by a wall of music. It feels like you are entering a club rather than a restaurant. The staff at the front is very nice and professional. We were taken to our table and 25minutes later our waiter arrived. He took our drinks order and left. Other people showed up on occasion to refill water and bring water containers to the table. Some bread was dropped off which was nice. 42 minutes later our drinks arrived. While we were drinking water and eating bread our waiter participated in several birthday celebrations. This involved the music being pumped up to eleven. Bear in mind that the music was already at a solid nine with the base thumping on the regular. So when a birthday kicks off you get the full treatment. Also the waiters are all occupied with that so service stops. Since there were parties all night you can imagine what that was like. So yes, nearly an hour after we arrived our waiter finally decided to ask what we would like to eat. Since we were starving we ordered appetizers, our main courses and some more drinks so we'd have something to eat while waiting for our food to be prepared. We made it clear that the appetizers were to come first and he said he of course and that he understood. A few more birthday celebrations later about twenty minutes later the appetizers started arriving. It came in a couple of waves with only one of our party not getting theirs. Less than five minutes later our main courses arrived. There wasn't even enough space on the table for all the food especially since there were empty glasses and plates that nobody was coming around to clean off. So we started stacking things on the bench next to us doing our own table bussing. We asked the runner why the main courses were coming out now since the same runner that delivered the appetizers. She just shrugged and ran off. About ten minutes after our main dishes arrived our friend finally received his appetizer. No, I'm not joking. The food was "ok." The filet mignon was just a sliver of meat, not even an inch thick on a slice of onion. It looked like a slightly thick slice of sausage except the filet had no flavor. The mole was definitely not mole. The shrimp that was on top was over cooked and dried out. The lobster enchiladas were small and didn't have much lobster. The rice and beans were completely unappetizing looking. Other people had similar issues with their dishes unfortunately. Our party mentioned the octopus was great, the bread served in the beginning was good, the appetizer of cheese fondue was good. The chicken and shrimp on the fajitas was dry, and the lobster on the lobster spaghetti was dry. The mole was definitely an 'American' flare. Wrapping up our experience when we get our checks in our little pirate box even though we were six people table that paid in 3 different checks, they still tacked on a mandatory 18% tip plus an extra 3% for using a credit card to pay. In summary this was a disappointing experience from the protray on social media and the restaurants website. For a place advertising themselves as a high end modern Mexican restaurant it was anything but except for the prices. Also, at $16 a shot for Jameson that's just crazy. If this was truly a high end restaurant where the service is impeccable than I would have no issue with that. But at a place that is pretending to be such it's just insulting. We've ate at plenty of those and it's worth it. I would not expect modern Mexican to include hamburgers, spaghetti, or traditional ribeye steaks as restaurant fare. It felt like a confusion or at least lack of commitment to the theme. Sadly, this was a prime example of instagram influencers not reflecting reality. The service was extremely poor. The food was mediocre at best. Honestly we would have had a better experience with far better service at the Chevy's next door where the service is better and the food matches expectations. After dinner we all talked and agreed that this would be the first and last time we come to this restaurant.

I've been to MPD a few times. I held off on reviewing because my experiences were uneven. I'm glad I gave it a few tries. Here are my ratings based on basic criteria: Food: **** Service: *** Ambiance: **** The food is fantastic here. I will preface my experience has been brunch only. I've never had dinner. I will say that their verde sauce here is one of the best I've had. I love me some verde sauce and these guys bring the noise. I especially enjoy the verde crema sauce. OMG. Their Chile Quillas Shrimp with Crema Verde is super good. Also this Tres Leche French toast was addicting. MPD has good to great food. I rated service a 3. We came right before 2 and advised us that they were in a changeover from brunch to dinner. We were fine with that. We ordered dinner type food. What we didn't expect was to wait 1 hour for our food. Most fine dining places shut down for the turnover, but MPD stayed open. Better to close and reopen for dinner. The saving grace is that we've been back for brunch a few times without an issue. The service was very good since. The ambiance in MPD is a visual feast for your eyes. Upbeat music is playing in the background and lots of giant projector screens playing various scenes of Mexico and aquarium life. I can tell this place gets down at night. The furnishing and decorations were all of high quality. No expense was spared. Great place, great food! Just don't go during the turnover.

Steak Alfredo. Steak 10/10. The Alfredo sauce was too milky and buttery, would not order again.

The only con was food so let me get into the pros... Plenty of parking! Had a reservation for 7 on a saturday and was seated right on time. Server was great! Attentive, funny, and very helpful with the menu. There's 2 large spaces people are sat, one is more lively and loud the other more private. Lots of people dressed up for celebrations. For birthdays they bring out a sign, sparkles, turn up the music and CELEBRATE. Depending on what you order you might get a margarita cart pulling up to your table making your drink in front of you. Speaking of drinks- YES. ORDER THE ALCOHOL. Not only are the bartenders good, each specialty cocktail has a cute little theme to go with it - perfect for PICS. Now food, I suggest getting a cut of steak and some sides. Everything else is just okay and not worth the price AT ALL. Check out my pics for reference. All in all. If youre looking for somewhere to celebrate, take a bunch of pictures, and just a fun time all around, make a reservation. Not pictured was the ceviche appetizer - which was delicious!

Let's get right to it... Atmosphere nice, loved the live motion ceiling art decor, cabana styled booths, 4 top tables in center, layout could be revamped, a bit cramped for my style. Service, hit it out of the park, for all the hussle and bussle that was flowing through (peak dinner time) Roberto, handles guests with care and paid just enough attention, while also accommodating any missteps along the way. Hats off to tailored service with a smile and excellent professionalism . Now the food, I'll say this, don't sleep on chefs skillz, complimentary bread, alone is perfection, drinks , main course, ribeye steak, lobster pasta, shrimp with rice and green sauce, can't get enough. Don't let price point deter you $$$, it's well worth it, when you work hard it's perfectly fine to treat yourself. 4.5

The ambiance was beautiful, loved the place. As we got our table, we waited about 25 minutes for our server to finally come, I guess she was on break. Javier made up for it though, he took our order and everything came out fairly quick after that, and the food was delicious and the drinks. He gave us complimentary house flan for dessert to make up for the inconvenience. We will be back!

This restaurant is the perfect combination of a visual experience and an unforgettable dining experience. From the moment you walk in, every detail of the décor is designed to impress, creating an elegant, vibrant atmosphere that's perfect for any occasion. The food was absolutely delicious, and the drinks left me speechless. You can tell they put a lot of care into both the presentation and the flavors. Our server was also outstanding--10/10. Friendly, attentive, and always checking in without being intrusive. Service like that turns a great meal into a memorable experience. If you're planning to visit on a weekend or with a large group, I'd definitely recommend making a reservation. We went on a weekday, and it wasn't too busy, so we were able to enjoy everything at a relaxed pace. One last thing I have to mention: the restrooms are absolutely beautiful. You'll probably end up having your own little photoshoot before you leave. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion, planning a date night, or simply looking for an amazing restaurant, Mamá Por Dios is definitely worth the visit.

I think this is an interesting culinary addition to the options in Fairfield/the surrounding area. I've been 3 times for dinner, and I'll say that it is a very specific experience, and whether it's "worth" it depends entirely on what you're looking for. DO come if you want: ambience, a drink, a small bite. Don't come if you're starving. The prices are on the high side and the portions are not large. The service is good, however, be aware that they will try to upsell you. RECS: the Camarones Costa Azul are delicious, as well as the Grilled Cauliflower. The grilled octopus is tender and yummy. The Enchiladas Verdes and both shrimp ceviche options are very doable. PROCEED WITH CAUTION: the Esquite is a decent app as well, though I feel this one could use more flavor, which I could say for many things I tried - although it's worth mentioning that I am picky and prefer my food highly seasoned; I requested and wore out a bottle of Cholula... The Lobster Mac & Cheese is 97% mac & cheese. The tacos don't have much filling for what they cost. The fajitas are bland and they charge for extra tortillas. One of the servers outright told me on one visit that the food is for a "certain palate." I knew exactly what he meant. It feels like touristy places I've been to in Tulum. The flavors here are a bit muted, but it is still a nice spot to go for a date or a drink with friends, or if you want to treat yourself to an elevated experience. **It can be noisy if you're trying to have a yap.**

My chimi wasn't very well cooked, kinda doughy in the middle. We didn't get a receipt so we couldn't reference the amount we were charged for each thing, but by menu prices it should have come out to about $55. It was about $60 for a to go order of 6 tacos and a quesadilla and a drink. While the food was good, not sure if the price was worth it considering all of the other Mexican food options nearby. Also, the tacos didn't come with any sides (rice, beans, etc.) which was unfortunate for the price. The In-Between: We found this place on Instagram based on a video review someone did. I also noticed Yelp lists the super burrito at $10.99, so maybe the prices have changed, but that's still a pretty big jump from the regular burrito. The burrito itself was huge, but after the first few bites, I was honestly disappointed. The carne asada was unusually stringy and fatty, which isn't something I've ever experienced with carne asada burritos before. I kept eating, expecting to get to the guacamole, sour cream, and salsa, but by the halfway point I decided to cut the burrito open. It turned out almost all of those ingredients were packed into the very bottom instead of being distributed throughout. The guacamole also had a sour taste that didn't seem right. I also noticed the burrito I received looked nothing like the photos posted here on Yelp, so I'm not sure if the recipe has changed since those pictures were taken. As someone who loves burritos and rarely passes one up, this was, unfortunately, one to forget. The free fountain drink and chips were a nice bonus, but they couldn't make up for the burrito itself. I genuinely wish this restaurant the best because the staff were excellent, but the food just didn't live up to my expectations.

We've seen this place every time we come to visit the city and it always looked busy so this time…read morewe had to try it out. It was a Saturday early evening and it was already busy. We were able to sit down right away in the bar area so that was nice. Our waiter came over pretty quick to see if we wanted anything to drink. We ordered some waters, a Paloma, and a beer. He came back shortly with chips and salsa and waters. We took a few minutes before we ordered and for our order we ordered the Birria tacos that came with beans and rice and the enchilada and Tamale with beans and rice. The chips were fresh and the salsa was really delicious. It was just enough spice in it and the flavor was great. Our entrees came out shortly which was pretty fast. The Birria tacos were fresh and hot, the flavor was great, and the dipping sauce completed the tacos. The Tamale and Enchilada was also delicious. The Chicken inside the enchilada was tender and tasty, the tamale was also fresh, tender, and cooked perfect. The highlight of the meal even with everything tasting great already were the beans. The beans had so much flavor to them, and cooked perfect. I don't know what they put in the beans or how they make them but, they are the best refried beans I've ever had. Our waiter was really good, I didn't get his name but kudos to him as well. The place is really big inside and has outside seating, with a bar area as well. I will definitely be back when I'm in town. I took pics of the food from the people next to us a burrito and a burger of some kind.

Certainly not NOT impressed with the service. I asked for a burrito to go. They said no problem. So…read moreI ordered a carne asada burrito. I asked to add jalapeños- they said that would cost an extra $2. That is crazy. I know food prices are rising but jalapeños are still inexpensive - I've eaten at hundreds of Mexican places - not one ( except Taco Hell - Bell- ) has charged me for jalapeños. So after taking my order he told me to come back in 15 minutes - like standing there and waiting was going to cost them money - how rude. Another bad 1st - being told I can't stay and wait for my order at a place I ordered from - WTF? Also the prices are too high - I can get burritos in San Francisco for $12 and they're great - as I did yesterday at a street fare - I thought $7.95 was too cheep for a burrito - but $18 in a small town? The burrito better be best tasting ever - writing this while I sit in my car. When I walked in the restaurant it was quiet - Saturday at 8:20 pm in the summer - was dead and it still takes them 15 to twenty minutes to make a burrito? That is crazy. So the ambience did not impress me that's for sure. What could improve? How about treating your customers who come into a place for the first time nice and not ask them to come back? How about not charging for jalapeños when every. other Real ( Taco Bell in NOT Mexican food) Mexican restaurant does not charge for them??? Update - the young man who took my order seemed like he did NOT want to be there - and was not attentive. When I picked up my order there were two women who were friendly and nice to me - so I added a star. The burrito itself - the beef had a excellent taste and the refried beans were good ( yes - I have had bad refried beans before ) so the burrito tasted good but on the bland side as no salsa was inside the burrito. Etc when the first guy took my order and told me jalapeños were an extra $2 I said no to the extra but did request extra salsa - all I got was a small - very small container - I like my Mexican food spicy - and this was not - tho had the potential to be great with some heat - spice - the salsa/ more of a sauce than salsa - had an excellent flavor but no the mild side for me but if had a lot of it - it would have worked as it did have a good to excellent flavor - so it gets only two stars - had excellent potential to be great - but initial bad service from the male staff and charging for jalapeños and very little salsa killed it - can not recommend

Their tacos, quesa tacos, and quesadillas are SO good! My friend hired them for her birthday party in Fairfield for 2 hours and we could not get enough. I was so full after my first plate but wanted more! They have a whole chips and salsa and condiments cart along with their order up for fresh tacos, quesadillas and other options! You can also get rice and beans too. It was definitely a hit. The two staff working were so nice, friendly, and patient with us! At the end they also give you all of the leftover meats and food and pack it up for you too. What a way to make an event enjoyable and all in one! I got multiple carne asada, el pastor tacos, quesa tacos, and quesadillas! Added all of the onions and sauces, yum!

WOWWWW.. Just book them!!…read more Initial contact was easy, I chose to correspond by email. Their response time was good, typically pretty fast (within a couple hours) but no more than 24 hours. Pricing is really good and we had quite a bit of food left over still. I loved that it wasn't just tacos, there's plenty of other options like quesadillas, mulitas, etc. I did paye xtra to have grilled jalapeno and onions, and they're soo yummy! They're super friendly and professional, not to mention the food was really good. I attached a photo of them and their setup (with their approval, of course). I hired them for my small engagement party about 30 adults and everyone raved about how good their food was. I still have guests talking about their food. Their salsas are also so flavorful and it goes from mild, medium and hot. Thank you ChaposTacos for making my special day even better! You're the best!
