Worst experience of customer service I've ever had! Especially to the host and manager . Reserved an open table for a party of 7. The table was not ready and told us to wait 20 minutes. This is in spite of being charged $ 25 per person for a guaranteed seat to be available upon arrival. 30 minutes have passed and no table still. But we noticed people going in and out. And people whose reservation at 9:30 got in before us. So we asked the host again for an estimate time and she said 2 minutes. Another 20 minutes have passed and we questioned the host one more time and this time with the supervisor and gave us another 2 minutes, and he stated "when I say 2 minutes it will be 2 mins" and he left. After waiting for almost an hour we asked the host again and told us if we can't wait we are free to go. With shock of what she just said all of us burst out and expressed our disappointment . And she cried out for help from the manager whom she should've called from the beginning if she can't figure out how to accommodate a big party. And what's shocking is the manager showed up not to solve the problem but to kick us out. It's obvious that the place is packed or overbooked. That's why I think they decided to kick us out . Luckily open table refunded my deposit for this booking. What they could have done is offer 2 separate small tables to accommodate a big party. Instead of apologizing for the delay the host just kept saying that the table for a bigger party is not ready. (What's the purpose of reservations then???) We were a party of five dining on a Thursday evening, and unfortunately, the experience was a huge disappointment from both a service and food quality standpoint. The restaurant was not particularly busy, which made the lack of service even more frustrating. Our food arrived cold, and it wasn't very good flavor wise to begin with, so having it served cold made the experience even worse. One person in our party ordered the surf and turf, which came out significantly later than everyone else's food. It was delivered on a push cart and assembled tableside, which could have been a nice experience, but the server handling it seemed completely uninterested. She didn't smile, say anything to us, or provide any sort of customer service. She essentially assembled the dish and tossed the plate in front of him before walking away. We also hardly saw our actual server throughout the evening. I ultimately had to flag him down toward the end of the meal just to ask for water refills and to cancel appetizers that had never even come out. What made it even worse is he was not apologetic at all. A lady will come around a take photos of your group and bring them back out printed and framed for $25 per picture. That's nice if you're celebrating something but still pricey. For how expensive this restaurant is, we expected a much higher level of service and food quality. The ambiance definitely gives off a high-end, upscale feel, but unfortunately, the food and service did not match what the restaurant is trying to portray. Overall, we left feeling very disappointed and would not consider the experience worth the price. Do better. I use to live in the area and this location opened right after I moved. I have been wanting to come by. When I finally made plans to visit, I love the decor and atmosphere of the place but the welcoming wasn't really welcoming. Was asked if we had a reservation, which we didn't. I asked if walk ins are available or if we could sit at the bar. They don't have a bar seating area so no. We were sat in the middle area. The tables by the walls were mainly booths for larger groups while the middle tables would have guest of 2, 3 or 4 Our server first greeted us in Spanish and began speaking more in Spanish even though we replied in English after not understanding what he said we just ordered our drinks speaking in English. He continued to speak Spanish to us every time he came by. He knows English though and we kinda wondered why he kept speaking in Spanish to us. Me and my cousin have mixed ethnicity so we kinda look Spanish but based on our tone in speaking you could tell we only know English. Later I noticed that the booth tables were all Spanish speaking and the middle tables had every other ethnicity but I could be jumping ahead thinking wrong and the guest in booths made reservations Besides all that mentioning the star off issue, the food and drinks were great. Seriously on the high side, lunch or dinner here is definitely a celebration anniversary date night place I wanted the Tomahawk steak but after seeing that they cut it for you in front of your group I didn't think it was worth it. We went to Mama Por Dios in Fairfield on a Sunday to celebrate a birthday and made a reservation for a party of 6. Unfortunately, we were not seated right away despite having a reservation. The restaurant didn't seem very busy at the time, with only about four other parties, so we were a little confused about the delay. Once we were seated, it took quite a while for our server to come over and take our order. Since we had just come from a winery and it was sunny outside, it would have been nice if we had been offered water or drinks while waiting. Once our server, Roberto, started taking care of us, the service was great. He was attentive and did a great job throughout the rest of our meal. The food was okay. The Camarones Por Dios was good, and we also tried the Entraña Prime steak. After waiting so long to order, we were hoping the food would stand out more. The drinks were also okay but didn't really stand out. The tres leches cake, however, was good! The manager came by to check on us, and we gave her our honest feedback. Hopefully, our comments were taken into consideration. The restaurant itself is very cute, with beautiful décor and nice furniture. There is also plenty of parking. So we drove an hour and 15 minutes to try this spot out for my sisters birthday. In total 14 of us went, which of course we reserved our spot ahead of time so they knew. We saw the videos on TikTok and other social media platforms and were looking forward to eating here. We were sat down fairly quickly, they took our drink orders and we were ready to order so we skipped the appetizers. Food came out quick, however, disappointing. I had the cheese green enchilada, the enchiladas were good but the rice and beans had no flavor. My son had the filet with truffle fries, he liked the fries and the steak was "ok." It was cooked correctly just didn't wow us. My wife had the chicken fajitas, we had to ask for the condiments like cheese, sour cream, pico de gallo, I would assume it would come with the meal, which she needed because the chicken lacked some flavor. Overall no one was impressed with the food. Aside from the food, which was just ok, our server never came back to ask for refills. My son and nephew had to just drink water since they were thirsty. My sister ordered a drink from the bar, the kind with the fire and flashy stuff, took over half an hour and when she did receive it there was a bug in it (can't make this up). In the end it felt like they were ready for us to go, maybe because they wanted to turn the table, either way, our bill was just shy of $1000.00 for our party, we expected better for what we paid. We would have spent more had they came back and took our drink orders a second time, overall wouldn't recommend unless you live in the area, wasn't worth it for our drive or the price. Venue / Location This place was easy to find as its centrally located off the freeway, right by Solano Mall! There was plenty of parking, especially because it was a Sunday afternoon. The overhead large screen was at first distracting but mesmerizing altogether. I kept thinking this would be a great place for a nightclub. Bar was impressively huge with what appeared to be many top shelf liquors. The food was very good and nicely presented. The guacamole appetizer was HUGE. I initially thought we would just sit at the bar and eat, but they do not have a seated bar area so you do have to sit at a table. But it was easy enough to get a table for two that day - there was maybe a 5 minute wait. Mama Por Dios was quite the experience! And in the best way possible. You can tell the owners put a lot of thought into every single detail of the restaurant. In addition to the excellent service, this place was beyond beautiful. Even the bathroom area. There were so many spots to take cute pictures. This would be a great place for a girls night or date night. I ordered a lychee on the beach - which they made table side. Walking in the establishment is beautiful, We were seated promptly as it was only 30 minutes after they opened for dinner service. We were given water and some sort of garlic bread which was delicious. I then ordered a cocktail which was also very delicious. When it came to ordering, We started with the ceviche appetizer, for entree I originally requested the picanha but was told it was out. That's fine, I then switched to the ribeye with mashed potatoes which was about $10 more. We were expecting to get our appetizer before our entree but unfortunately it came minutes after we were already eating our entree. My entree the Ribeye looked like a flank steak not at all worth that price if it was a ribeye. The side of mashed potatoes were ice cold, had my friend try and she agreed ice cold. When I told one of the servers they were able to get me a replacement. Sadly, the replacement was overall way worse than the original side just actually hot. But it looked like straight mush just plopped into a bowl without a care. On top of all of that we honestly hardly got service from the wait staff took minutes to even complain about the mashed potatoes. We saw the videos of influencers dining here (and we even saw some posing for their phones by the bathrooms) talking about this place. We also saw the reviews on yelp that were pointing to the contrary. We decided to give it an honest chance and a group of us went last night (Saturday night). This was our experience. One of the first things you notice outside is the sign saying there is a two hour sitting limit at your table. Then when you first walk in you're hit by a wall of music. It feels like you are entering a club rather than a restaurant. The staff at the front is very nice and professional. We were taken to our table and 25minutes later our waiter arrived. He took our drinks order and left. Other people showed up on occasion to refill water and bring water containers to the table. Some bread was dropped off which was nice. 42 minutes later our drinks arrived. While we were drinking water and eating bread our waiter participated in several birthday celebrations. This involved the music being pumped up to eleven. Bear in mind that the music was already at a solid nine with the base thumping on the regular. So when a birthday kicks off you get the full treatment. Also the waiters are all occupied with that so service stops. Since there were parties all night you can imagine what that was like. So yes, nearly an hour after we arrived our waiter finally decided to ask what we would like to eat. Since we were starving we ordered appetizers, our main courses and some more drinks so we'd have something to eat while waiting for our food to be prepared. We made it clear that the appetizers were to come first and he said he of course and that he understood. A few more birthday celebrations later about twenty minutes later the appetizers started arriving. It came in a couple of waves with only one of our party not getting theirs. Less than five minutes later our main courses arrived. There wasn't even enough space on the table for all the food especially since there were empty glasses and plates that nobody was coming around to clean off. So we started stacking things on the bench next to us doing our own table bussing. We asked the runner why the main courses were coming out now since the same runner that delivered the appetizers.She just shrugged and ran off. About ten minutes after our main dishes arrived our friend finally received his appetizer. No, I'm not joking. The food was "ok." The filet mignon was just a sliver of meat, not even an inch thick on a slice of onion. It looked like a slightly thick slice of sausage except the filet had no flavor. The mole was definitely not mole. The shrimp that was on top was over cooked and dried out. The lobster enchiladas were small and didn't have much lobster. The rice and beans were completely unappetizing looking. Other people had similar issues with their dishes unfortunately. Our party mentioned the octopus was great, the bread served in the beginning was good, the appetizer of cheese fondue was good. The chicken and shrimp on the fajitas was dry, and the lobster on the lobster spaghetti was dry. The mole was definitely an 'American' flare. Wrapping up our experience when we get our checks in our little pirate box even though we were six people table that paid in 3 different checks, they still tacked on a mandatory 18% tip plus an extra 3% for using a credit card to pay. In summary this was a disappointing experience from the protray on social media and the restaurants website. For a place advertising themselves as a high end modern Mexican restaurant it was anything but except for the prices. Also, at $16 a shot for Jameson that's just crazy. If this was truly a high end restaurant where the service is impeccable than I would have no issue with that. But at a place that is pretending to be such it's just insulting. We've ate at plenty of those and it's worth it. I would not expect modern Mexican to include hamburgers, spaghetti, or traditional ribeye steaks as restaurant fare. It felt like a confusion or at least lack of commitment to the theme. Sadly, this was a prime example of instagram influencers not reflecting reality. The service was extremely poor. The food was mediocre at best. Honestly we would have had a better experience with far better service at the Chevy's next door where the service is better and the food matches expectations. I've been to MPD a few times. I held off on reviewing because my experiences were uneven. I'm glad I gave it a few tries. I will say that their verde sauce here is one of the best I've had. I love me some verde sauce and these guys bring the noise. I especially enjoy the verde crema sauce. OMG. Their Chile Quillas Shrimp with Crema Verde is super good. Also this Tres Leche French toast was addicting. MPD has good to great food. I rated service a 3. We came right before 2 and advised us that they were in a changeover from brunch to dinner. We were fine with that. We ordered dinner type food. What we didn't expect was to wait 1 hour for our food. Most fine dining places shut down for the turnover, but MPD stayed open. Better to close and reopen for dinner. The saving grace is that we've been back for brunch a few times without an issue. The service was very good since. The ambiance in MPD is a visual feast for your eyes. Upbeat music is playing in the background and lots of giant projector screens playing various scenes of Mexico and aquarium life. I can tell this place gets down at night. The only con was food so let me get into the pros... Plenty of parking! Had a reservation for 7 on a saturday and was seated right on time. Server was great! Attentive, funny, and very helpful with the menu. There's 2 large spaces people are sat, one is more lively and loud the other more private. Lots of people dressed up for celebrations. For birthdays they bring out a sign, sparkles, turn up the music and CELEBRATE. Depending on what you order you might get a margarita cart pulling up to your table making your drink in front of you. Speaking of drinks- YES. ORDER THE ALCOHOL. Not only are the bartenders good, each specialty cocktail has a cute little theme to go with it - perfect for PICS. We went for my cousins birthday dinner and it was a really nice experience. We had a nice and attentive waiter. It was also my first time coming here and I can honestly say the food and drinks were delicious. As an appetizer, we ordered this cheese bread and it was so yummy. The bread in itself was super soft. For my main course, I ordered two cheese enchiladas and the order came with beans and green rice on the side. I have never had green rice until this dinner and I can say, it was so delicious! The green sauce on the enchiladas was also very delicious. Now, the drinks were very good and came in nice cups that seemed fitting. I ordered El Tama which is the drink in the longer cup. It had squirt, tamarind vodka, salt and lime juice. Everything that I love put together. They have signature cocktails that I also wanted to try but didn't get the chance to. I would love to come back to try some more. The ambiance was dim lit and had almost like a club feel to it. There was energetic and dance music playing at all times. I believe their signature is when people celebrate birthdays and the workers come out and sing happy birthday. They come out with bottles and flash some lights to give it a nightclub feeling. I will say, we did think that the singing happy birthday was complimentary like most places do but if you want that experience then you have to pay almost $40 for a 10 second moment so keep that in mind. I think this is an interesting culinary addition to the options in Fairfield/the surrounding area. I've been 3 times for dinner, and I'll say that it is a very specific experience, and whether it's "worth" it depends entirely on what you're looking for. DO come if you want: ambience, a drink, a small bite. Don't come if you're starving. The prices are on the high side and the portions are not large. The service is good, however, be aware that they will try to upsell you. RECS: the Camarones Costa Azul are delicious, as well as the Grilled Cauliflower. The grilled octopus is tender and yummy. The Enchiladas Verdes and both shrimp ceviche options are very doable. PROCEED WITH CAUTION: the Esquite is a decent app as well, though I feel this one could use more flavor, which I could say for many things I tried - although it's worth mentioning that I am picky and prefer my food highly seasoned; I requested and wore out a bottle of Cholula... The Lobster Mac & Cheese is 97% mac & cheese. The tacos don't have much filling for what they cost. The fajitas are bland and they charge for extra tortillas. One of the servers outright told me on one visit that the food is for a "certain palate." I knew exactly what he meant. It feels like touristy places I've been to in Tulum. I've been to this location twice now. It's definitely an experience going here. First let me start off by saying if you're sensitive to flashing lights and loud noises this place is not for you. We ordered the Guacamole with Chicharrón de Ribeye ($28), Queso Fundido ($13), Aguachile de Ribeye ($38), and attempted to order the Tuétanos ($18), although that dish never arrived. The only issue with the queso fundido was that it came with just two tortillas for a table of four, but we asked for more and they were happy to bring them. We each had a couple of margaritas and cocktails, which ranged from $14-$18, with other premium options available at higher prices. There is also a photographer who walks around taking photos, which are later printed and offered for purchase. The restaurant has a two-hour dining limit. Because the servers are also involved with the shows, service can be a bit slow at times. Overall, our experience was good, though there were delays with drinks, table service, and one forgotten food item. Javier made up for it though, he took our order and everything came out fairly quick after that, and the food was delicious and the drinks. A bigger-than-life restaurant filled with glitz and nonstop showmanship. There's a lot happening at once, big signs waved around like it's fight night, a roaming cart with a tableside cocktail mixologist, drink flights paraded past you, and even a ceiling playing a video loop of turtles swimming overhead. It's definitely not the spot for an intimate, quiet meal. The menu offers a wide selection, but the food (and service) itself fell short for me in more ways than I expected. Really fun drinks! Food had good flavor. The service is a little over the top- trying to be something it's not. First off- no salsa is available to go with the chips. The waiter told us the owner doesn't like "messy items". There is NO salsa and no ice water.....in a Mexican food restaurant in a parking lot in Fairfield. Next you get chilled water (no ice) and they bring a giant platter of sliced fruit to go in the water. Kinda of weird for but ok. Give the people what they want- ICE. SALSA. Next we were brought out house bread....to go with our Mexican food?? (Would love chips and SALSA!). The bread was literally like a Hawaiian sweet roll with what I joked tasted like lays potato chips on top..... it was VERY LITERALLY lays potato chips crushed on top like a gourmet item LOL. JUST WHY?! They also didn't want any bags on the tables. They have a coat rack next to every table they want you to put things on- including my friend's birthday gift that was in a bag. The food and drinks are really good! Walk-in's are not likely unless you're willing to wait awhile and reservations are hard for Friday-Sunday. I've been here twice with both good service. I like that they come to your table often. They're quick to fill your water and grab empty plates. The music and vibe is nice. The bathroom area is nice and picture worthy. Worth the drive to "Far-field"! The food was great. Everything we ordered was fresh and delicious. Octopus, tacos, enchiladas, fajitas, chicharrones guacamole, cauliflower & ceviche were amazing! Our server Javier recommended all the best dishes and speciality drinks. Flights of margaritas is a must try. The atmosphere and ambiance was like a Vegas restaurant. Alive and thumping music. Mama X Dios is an experience for those that want to feel like they are eating in the middle of the club. Very nicely decorated, however, it feels like a lot of conflicting ideas are happening at once. From what seemed like a nice restaurant when you walk in, turns into flashing lights and loud music when drinks are ordered and delivered. Having been with a party of 9, celebrating my partner's dad, it was not the experience that was needed. Ordering was a hassle since the waiter didn't seem to know the menu well. Apparently, the menu was new with added items, however, the items were not available. None of the new items were ready for sale. Myself and another person in the group had to order new items after 10-15 minutes had passed since we ordered originally. Additionally, some of our utensils and cups were dirty. We ordered some more bread because it was one of the best things they gave us. However, it never came out but was on the bill, so we needed that fixed. All the food came, except for the 2 dishes that were ordered after the main order. The food was definitely sitting for a moment and you could tell from the sauce and lukewarm temperature. My dish finally came out and the last dish we were waiting for was a chicken cesar salad. Other tables seemed to be having a great time. We will not be making the trip out to Fairfield to give this place another try. read more

Came here to celebrate a friend's birthday on a Friday night. Was able to make a reservation online the night before. Parking lot was pretty busy for a Friday night since it shares the same lot with chick fil a and chevy's. We were sat pretty soon after checking in. The food & drink menu is pretty extensive so you're bound to find something you like. I tried out a mocktail which I really liked and would recommend. For food, I got the steak and would say it was okay, nothing extraordinary. Overall, I'd rate the food 3/5. Staff and service was great! It was fun to see all the birthday celebrations and it felt like a party the entire time. It's an experience to at least try out once if you're local to the area. read more

Service, hit it out of the park, for all the hussle and bussle that was flowing through (peak dinner time) Roberto, handles guests with care and paid just enough attention, while also accommodating any missteps along the way. Hats off to tailored service with a smile and excellent professionalism . Now the food, I'll say this, don't sleep on chefs skillz, complimentary bread, alone is perfection, drinks , main course, ribeye steak, lobster pasta, shrimp with rice and green sauce, can't get enough.
