I just went in for an early Cinco De Mayo lunch and it was delicious! This is my first visit and I ordered the Chilaquiles w/Chicken, whole beans (I don't eat pork) and red sauce and it was so good! All my life I have avoided a runny egg (I didn't even think about it while I was ordering) and instead of sending it back, I tried it and enjoyed it! The dish was seasoned perfectly! I've never eaten at or ordered from Casa Agave before; however, after consulting Yelp and seeing that it had good reviews, I decided to give them a try. I ordered a carne asada wet burrito, which was absolutely delicious! It was well seasoned and full of flavor. It definitely satisfied my craving. Came out to Casa Agave for dinner on a Friday night with my husband and two kids. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired. Upon entering, several employees looked at us but didn't greet or acknowledge us. I had to initiate and ask if we could seat ourselves, at which point someone from the bar finally told us we could choose a table. After being seated, our waitress brought menus but was unresponsive after that, we had to flag her down after 20 minutes just to place our order. While we were given complimentary chips, salsa, and a small bowl of refried beans, it didn't make up for what followed. We waited 45 minutes for our food, only to find out that the waitress had only placed part of our order. This meant my kids didn't receive their meals until nearly an hour after we arrived, which was incredibly frustrating. I understand restaurants can get busy, especially on weekends, but the lack of communication, slow service, and mistake with our order made this a disappointing visit. I have to say, I have had many versions of Chile Verde, but this one was one of my favs. Large chunks of lean pork, atop stewed chile verde with shredded pork. I have never seen that presentation before. Delicious! Def top 5 for me. Hubby ordered Steak Ranchero and was very happy with his choice. I also ordered the guacamole. The salsas they gave were flavorful and not very spicy, just a little kick. I got the fajitas mixtecas, which came with shrimp, beef, and chicken. This place is a cozy, vibrant spot to grab dinner and a few drinks. I loved their bar area and the servers are pleasant. I have a few notes though. When they brought us over our napkins, utensils, chips and salsa, first I noticed two of our napkins were dirty? It had dried food on them and that was kind of gross. Chips were ok and salsa tasted like bland tomatoes. No flavor to it. Next, we ordered drinks. I had seen some Yelp reviews on here of people trying some jarritos cocktails, and I asked the server if that was something they did since I did not see it listed on the menu. He said it was something they could do. I asked for the guava flavored Jarrito and when he brought it over it looked good... but when I tried it I was so disappointed that it tasted like carbonated water. I couldn't taste the guava flavor and I didn't taste the alcohol in it, not even a little bit. For food, I ordered the chicken fajitas. It came with sides of refried beans, red rice, guacamole and pico de gallo. The sides were great and fajita sauce was tasty. Personally this dish was good and I would order it again. One thing I did notice is that since we got carried away talking the server was trying to pick up dishes to clear the table, when we weren't quite finished eating... I didn't really like that because they wouldn't really ask beforehand and when they did it was evident we still had our plates half full and were not done. Price wise it's reasonable, I went with 3 other people and our total bill was $148 split evenly it was about $37 per person. Overall the place is clean with a few crumbs and spills on their floors below the tables, they definitely should wash their napkins more thoroughly and maybe next time I will stick to a drink off their menu. read more

What an absolute hidden gem. I might have just found my new favorite authentic Mexican restaurant. They serve you chips and salsa to start and the salsa was extremely well done. I wasn't planning to gorge on chips, but I couldn't help myself due to the salsa being so delicious. I ordered the chicken tacos and they were also fantastic, but I had to steal some beans and rice from my wife's plate because I'm a sucker for authentic Mexican refried beans. Our family was returning from Dillon Beach & heading home to Citrus Heights tonight so we searched Mexican Restaurants in Fairfield, a half way destination, and Casa Agave near the Solano County Courthouse populated, so we stopped there to eat. The food was absolutely delicious, everything we ordered, from the Verde Enchiladas, Molcajete, Steak Fajitas, Cheesy Bean & Chorizo Dip, and Michelada's, was a 10+! The service was also exceptional. I've been to my share of Mexican restaurants, and this one exceeded all of our expectations, the best tasting Mexican food we've eaten, hands down!
