We have eaten at taco dons for over 15 years. It seems like their quality and consistency has been lost. My wife's deep fried taco was terrible.there was a very little meat. I tried the Chili relleno and it was just ok. It's not like they are less expensive then any Other restaurants especially when you figure that you have to purchase chips and salsa. Very disappointing. I ve read other reviews and the complaints seem to follow a thread I'm not even sure they read the reviews. read more

Don't eat here. The girls who took our order and waited on us had an attitude. Mgmt needs to teach them customer service skills. Their burritos are very boring looking and you don't get that much food for how much they charge for each item. The only thing I liked was the fry bread. Don is ripping people off. This quick serve spot is very busy - a good sign. The street tacos were good, plenty of meat plus cilantro and onions and a side of salsa on double tortillas. I had the chicken which was shredded white meat, and the carnitas, both were very fresh. I also had a side of beans, these were fine but nothing special. They are topped with shredded cheese. Now whenever I visit my ole stomping grounds of lil Prescott, me and my family always gotta hit up this lol Mexican restaurant. As you walk in you may notice, the scenery is a bit dated. This is okay, this place hold a lot of nostalgia for many Prescott residents including my family. So as this place may be far behind in its decoration, it makes up for its homey and nostalgic vibes. The service here is good everyone is always very nice and friendly when we come. I love how this is a family business too, we've always felt welcomed. The food is always consistent when I've come and good especially for this small town. I always stick with a classic bean and cheese burrito with enchilada style. The shredded beef burritos are one of my favorites too! The staff always does their best to deliver the best quality to you and consistently each time. First time here, very disappointing. Dined inside, flies all over, and it was a battle to keep them off of my food (I lost a couple times). Tiny tostada salad on a large, worn-out plate, a few shreds of iceberg lettuce and a big helping of bland, overcooked refried beans. Chicken taco in a generic factory shell, looked like it was purchased in bulk at Walmart. Watery "guacamole." I will not return. Brought me out the incorrect order, asked for shredded beef crunchy taco and they gave me ground beef. When I asked if they could bring me correct taco they said they didnt charge me for it and I would have to buy another one. I was pretty clear I was fine with the up charge and I wanted shredded beef. I already gave them $36 dollars for two small lunch meals. I find this unacceptable and I will not be going back to this or any taco dons ever again, and I will advise all my family and friends to avoid the place unless they want to get ripped off. read more

Taco Don's is an unassuming restaurant on Miller Valley in Prescott. It has the typical menu for a Mexican restaurant. They have an excellent cheese crisp. Their tacos are also very good. The only downside is their pricing. It is very expensive. read more

Moving from Southern California it has been extremely difficult to find authentic Mexican cuisine as nothing compares to the Hispanic food culture in California. That being said Taco Dons is by far & above any other sort of Mexican food I've been able to locate here in the Prescott/Prescott Valley area. Nice easy to get in and out Mexican restaurant with either indoor or drive-through, fast food. Unfortunately, over the years they seem to be going downhill. This morning I got a nine dollar steak and egg burrito that had more potato and egg then steak. Lots of tortilla, not feeling I should've went back, but was in a crunch for time will not ever buy a breakfast burrito here again at least not the steak. It was worth about 250. I would've been better off going to Taco Bell believe it or not shame on taco John's for being so cheap. read more

This restaurant is just GROSS! I have lived here for 30 years, and hardly ever eat here because it's always been bland, greasy, flavorless garbage. I decided to try again because I just wanted a breakfast burrito with potatoes in it. I was going home where I have actual good hot sauce. Went to the drive through. I ordered bacon, egg , and potatoes burrito. Cheese costs extra... ok. Add cheese. Also, a cheese crisp with guacamole. The bacon in the burrito wasn't even par cooked. It was floppy, squishy and raw. I got so grossed out trying to pull out all the bacon, it just went in the trash. I discovered (when I got home) the cheese crisp was already coated in guacamole, not on the side for me to dip or whatever. Sorry guys to have to tell you this, but if you put COLD guac on a hot cheese crisp, IN THE DRIVE THROUGH, it STOPS the cheese crisp from being hot or crispy. They didn't cut it, so I was trying to rip off a piece, and the edges crumbled, leaving my bare hands IN the guac, trying to tare it. The guacamole made the cheese coagulated, and stiff. It was cold, nasty mess. Why would you not send it out with the guac on the side for a to go order? That was so gross, it also ended up in the trash. This place is the bland "mexican" food that white people from New York, or Massachusetts or Illinois would make if they only ever ate at Taco Bell for Mexican food. Taco Bell actually has more flavor. No flavor, no spicyness, no marinated yummy anything. The beans taste like plain beans in lard. The meat taste off, raw and weird. The eggs smell like burnt hair. The service was ok. Didn't deserve the tip I gave, but you tip at the window before they send you to the back to wait for the trash they think you deserve to eat. So, no taking the tip back then. This place is crap. It has become even worse since the original owner died. I do not recommend at all. read more

My husband and I like to be adventurous and try different mexican food all over the state. While driving thru Prescott, we decided to give this little hole in the wall a try. We had read some of the reviews and it seemed like a little place that locals liked. When we walked in, we were greeted right away and they were ready to take our order. We decided to order a few different items and then we sat down to wait. The food came out pretty quickly which was nice and the restaurant was pretty clean overall. However, to say the food quality was "subpar" would be an understatement. This place takes the cake for poor quality. The ground beef is almost tasteless and the texture makes you question if they boil it in water or take it out of a can. The refried beans are watered down and tasteless. The whole beans tasted overcooked and bitter. The fried bread, which was sopped in the bitter pinto beans and cold shredded cheese, also tasted "off". Both of us trudged through tasting each of the things we ordered hoping the next item would taste better. Unfortunately, we couldn't take it anymore and threw the rest of the food away. I saw a previous review of "covid precautions" they are taking. Our experience was watching 4 out of 6 employees only wear their mask over their mouth with their nose fully hanging out. Hopefully the management team can teach them the proper way to wear a mask. read more

Been twice and both times not good. Breakfast burrito had a raw taste, and more tortilla than filling. Mexican pizza was basically toppings on a flour tortilla and then baked. Chips/salsa extra and a side of salsa for the burrito, 75 cents extra. Employees weren't friendly. read more
