Came here for the first time. We just moved here. They advertised themselves as "the Best Mexican Food in PV" so we had to check it out. The parking lot is tiny and shared by the market. The obligatory chips & salsa arrived. Honestly, I was, "Meh, salsa kind of weak." I was worried that it was an indicator of the food. I was wrong! I ordered the #4 Red Burro plate enchilada style. The enchilada sauce made up for the salsa. The red chile was so good it did not need the enchilada sauce to support it. It may also be that I was trapped in Texas for too long, but that Red Chile was fantastic. Just like Mom used to make. Wife got the #4 Green Chicken enchilada style too. She liked hers. She misses proper green Chileans finally got some. Beans and rice came with the meals. Both were tasty. I prefer my frijoles to be more creamy but these were still very good. I highly recommend Azteca Grill to anyone who likes real Mexican food. read more

This review is for the carne asada, salsa, and the tortilla chips only. My mouth is so happy! The chips were crispy with just the right flavor and salt. The salsa roja had a great kick without overloading in vinegar or that weird flavor some hot salsas get. The carne asada is what sold me though. It's a new addition to our weekly or biweekly menu because the flavor is amazing!!! In the top ten Mexican market carne asada I've eaten, ever. My boyfriend actually ate it cold as leftovers. We walk in party party of 3 we are the first customers. I walk in with my mavericks coffee and the person there tells me to leave my coffee on the counter and I can grab it on my way out really. They lost sales on 3 people over coffee idiots. So we went to El Gordos down the street I highly recommend el gordos over that cheesy restaurant. read more

I'm not sure where the other reviewers ate, and maybe I'm a Mexican food snob. But the food entirely lacked flavor. The chips were ok, but needed salt and maybe lime. The salsa tasted like boring marinara sauce, needed spice and salt. Husband ordered a bean and cheese burrito since it's usually a good bet, hard to mess it up, but it lacked flavor! Tasted like a can of beans that were opened a week ago and left to sit. Barely any cheese, the tortilla was good and toasted. I got a taco salad with chicken, the taco she'll was good and not greasy, but the beans, chicken, and guacamole were entirely flavorless! The chicken looked good and was really tender but had no flavor. I'm actually not even sure how that's possible. Service was good, lady was friendly enough. But frankly, I would not go back. Everyone loved the food. We tried Fish Tacos, Chimichanga, and Chile Relleno. All very tasty and well seasoned. Portions were quite large; even the fish tacos. The chips are fresh made, crispy and not greasy. Salsa was satisfactory although I like more of a chili flavor. The avocado dip was good as well. The thing that impressed me the most were the beans and rice. I usually skip beans as I'm not a big fan. I love good rice but find most places too bland. Both here were outstanding! everyone at our table agreed. The place is cute. Service was OK, no complaints. The prices are not cheap, but you definitely get your money's worth. We were stuffed and took food home, too. We drove out from Prescott because we were tired of the blah fare "in town." My husband and I have been desperately looking for an amazing Mexican Restaurant since moving to AZ. And this place is definitely not it. I gave it 2 stars based on the fact that our server was so sweet. As far as the food goes it had absolutely no flavor. The salsa was like tomatoe soup and had zero flavor. A colleague and I dined today at Azteca Grill for lunch. We were promptly seated and provided beverages, chips, and salsa. I had the enchiladas lunch special and he had the shrimp salad. Both were delicious. The customer service was fabulous. We leisurely had our meal and our meeting, and they were very hospitable in allowing us to stay there for over 3 hours. By far the worst Mexican place in town. They charge 1.25 extra if you want more salsa. They charge .75 to use your card. The chips were cold & stale and salsa was like tomato juice. Save yourself some disappointment and go somewhere else. read more

During our first visit we ordered the guacamole marinero which was loaded with seafood. Delicious and a huge portion. I think it could be split by four people easily. I had the carne asada which was tender but lacked in flavor. I ended up pouring salsa over it, and it was pretty good. My wife had the shrimp a la diabla which was quite good. Service was adequate and the place seemed clean. The prices were a little steep for my taste, but probably not out of line for the amount of seafood. We like the food here, and the prices are decent and the service is usually good. If you want good Mexican food in P.V., this is one of the few places that usually delivers. There's been a few dishes that were just sort of average, but their fajitas are really good and the menudo is pretty good, too. This restaurant is off the beaten path sort of in a residential area. It looked promising. The food looked good but lacked flavor. The salsas were watery. The shrimp cocktail was filled with shrimp but didn't have hardly any flavor. I don't know if they have Americanized the food and think that they shouldn't use any spice. We would not go back and we love Mexican food. If they would add flavor and spice this would be a great place. The service was good and I liked the decor.
