My first time here, several years ago, was nothing like it is now. It used to be a proper restaurant with festive furnishings, plates, etc. It is now primarily a well-stocked grocery with incidental food service, mostly set up for drive-thru/takeout. Everything on the menu is $14.99 = entree, rice and beans. The food came in styrofoam with plastic utensils. The rice and beans were completely tasteless until I asked for and added copious amounts of salsa and chili sauce. The chili relleno was a large block of rubbery cheese encased in a tissue-paper-thin chili skin and battered. Plenty of kick but proportions are way off. My friend's carnitas had some mysterious, gelatinous squares that were eventually identified as pork skin! No thank you. read more

I expected more, maybe I shouldn't have. Not all the tortillas were fresh and a lot of items were higher in price.

Came here for the first time. We just moved here. They advertised themselves as "the Best Mexican Food in PV" so we had to check it out. The parking lot is tiny and shared by the market. The obligatory chips & salsa arrived. Honestly, I was, "Meh, salsa kind of weak." I was worried that it was an indicator of the food. I was wrong! I ordered the #4 Red Burro plate enchilada style. The enchilada sauce made up for the salsa. The red chile was so good it did not need the enchilada sauce to support it. It may also be that I was trapped in Texas for too long, but that Red Chile was fantastic. Just like Mom used to make. Wife got the #4 Green Chicken enchilada style too. She liked hers. She misses proper green Chileans finally got some. Beans and rice came with the meals. Both were tasty. I prefer my frijoles to be more creamy but these were still very good. I highly recommend Azteca Grill to anyone who likes real Mexican food. read more

Azteca Grill - A glimpse of my #4 red burro enchilada style. Very good! - Mexican Near Me - Prescott Valley, Arizona

This review is for the carne asada, salsa, and the tortilla chips only. My mouth is so happy! The chips were crispy with just the right flavor and salt. The salsa roja had a great kick without overloading in vinegar or that weird flavor some hot salsas get. The carne asada is what sold me though. It's a new addition to our weekly or biweekly menu because the flavor is amazing!!! In the top ten Mexican market carne asada I've eaten, ever. My boyfriend actually ate it cold as leftovers. He never eats leftovers. It was that good. I'm excited to explore the other options read more

I am so glad that I found this restaurant. They have all my favorites. The ones that bougie people don't know about. Is service with a smile. I've been there three times and always happy to go back. read more

The food was fresh made and plentiful. I had the beef fajitas which was really tasty. The service was excellent and the restaurant has a clean, decorative style. I highly recommend a visit. read more

We walk in party party of 3 we are the first customers. I walk in with my mavericks coffee and the person there tells me to leave my coffee on the counter and I can grab it on my way out really. They lost sales on 3 people over coffee idiots. So we went to El Gordos down the street I highly recommend el gordos over that cheesy restaurant. read more

I'm not sure where the other reviewers ate, and maybe I'm a Mexican food snob. But the food entirely lacked flavor. The chips were ok, but needed salt and maybe lime. The salsa tasted like boring marinara sauce, needed spice and salt. Husband ordered a bean and cheese burrito since it's usually a good bet, hard to mess it up, but it lacked flavor! Tasted like a can of beans that were opened a week ago and left to sit. Barely any cheese, the tortilla was good and toasted. I got a taco salad with chicken, the taco she'll was good and not greasy, but the beans, chicken, and guacamole were entirely flavorless! The chicken looked good and was really tender but had no flavor. I'm actually not even sure how that's possible. Service was good, lady was friendly enough. But frankly, I would not go back. Better making Mexican food at home. read more

Azteca Grill - Taco salad with chicken - Mexican Near Me - Prescott Valley, Arizona

Everyone loved the food. We tried Fish Tacos, Chimichanga, and Chile Relleno. All very tasty and well seasoned. Portions were quite large; even the fish tacos. The chips are fresh made, crispy and not greasy. Salsa was satisfactory although I like more of a chili flavor. The avocado dip was good as well. The thing that impressed me the most were the beans and rice. I usually skip beans as I'm not a big fan. I love good rice but find most places too bland. Both here were outstanding! everyone at our table agreed. The place is cute. Service was OK, no complaints. The prices are not cheap, but you definitely get your money's worth. We were stuffed and took food home, too. We drove out from Prescott because we were tired of the blah fare "in town." We wish there was an Azteca Grill closer to us. - I you feel this review is Useful, Funny, or Cool, please check the boxes below. Thanks. read more

My husband and I have been desperately looking for an amazing Mexican Restaurant since moving to AZ. And this place is definitely not it. I gave it 2 stars based on the fact that our server was so sweet. As far as the food goes it had absolutely no flavor. The salsa was like tomatoe soup and had zero flavor. I am very disappointed because I really wanted to like this place. However the food was disgusting! read more

It was ok. I didn't really connect with any of the food. That's important in a Mexican Food restaurant. Didn't even really like the salsa. Service was fair. Cleanliness left a little to be desired. Price was good. read more

Tasty Mexican food and wonderful service. Nice choice of food options. If you leave hungry it's your own fault. Check it out.

A colleague and I dined today at Azteca Grill for lunch. We were promptly seated and provided beverages, chips, and salsa. I had the enchiladas lunch special and he had the shrimp salad. Both were delicious. The customer service was fabulous. We leisurely had our meal and our meeting, and they were very hospitable in allowing us to stay there for over 3 hours. This is the second time I have dined there and the food and service are consistently excellent. read more

They make the BEST FISH TACOS!!! I love the fish tacos along with the salsa! Great customer service.

Genuine & authentic Mexican food & market. The burrito de tripas was awesome! A large hearty breakfast burrito well worth more than the money I paid for it. Friendly service, limited English speaking. The market was clean, tighty and well stocked. Reasonable to bargain pricing on everything. Competetive with similar businesses in the area. read more

One word. Yuck. Go to Olivas instead... or Taco Bell is better than this. While the servers are super nice the food is not up to par. Skip this place and try the next. read more

By far the worst Mexican place in town. They charge 1.25 extra if you want more salsa. They charge .75 to use your card. The chips were cold & stale and salsa was like tomato juice. Save yourself some disappointment and go somewhere else. read more

Was there for Lunch. The fish tacos were very good. The vegetables we're very fresh, fish was battered and fried crisp, not too thick of batter. The chips and salsa we're fresh and good tasting. Portions were very good and prices were reasonable. The staff was friendly and quick. The other patrons we're locals and had good looking food delivered to their tables. I'd go back. read more

The food we got tastes like canned food, service was horrible, waitress spilled the food all over one of us, and when asked for flour tortillas she touched the tortillas we already were eating with her dirty hands to makesure we did not have thw flour tortillas, forgot the wayer we ordered, asked for some pepper flakes and were spilled all over the table would not come back wver read more

Amazing food. I stumbled upon Azteca Grill living in Prescott Valley in 2015. I've been eating there ever since. It's the only place I'll stop in PV for Mexican food. The food is worth every penny paid and the service is "muy rapido" read more

Great service! I loved the fish tacos, which were grilled not fried. Ask for extra sauce! My hubby got the fish in garlic sauce, which he enjoyed but said was not super flavorful. Overall a very good experience and we will be back. read more

During our first visit we ordered the guacamole marinero which was loaded with seafood. Delicious and a huge portion. I think it could be split by four people easily. I had the carne asada which was tender but lacked in flavor. I ended up pouring salsa over it, and it was pretty good. My wife had the shrimp a la diabla which was quite good. Service was adequate and the place seemed clean. The prices were a little steep for my taste, but probably not out of line for the amount of seafood. Two entrees and an app (water to drink) = $42 read more

We love this place! We go every week. The owner Martine will customize the dish for you. Our favorites are fish tacos and the chili Relleno stuffed with pork and cheese with green sauce. Portions are big. Try the shrimp cocktail and seafood soups!! Laura is our Waitress and she is all about service. Place is clean. read more

We like the food here, and the prices are decent and the service is usually good. If you want good Mexican food in P.V., this is one of the few places that usually delivers. There's been a few dishes that were just sort of average, but their fajitas are really good and the menudo is pretty good, too. Overall we're glad this place is around, because most of the Mexican food around here is sub-average. read more

This restaurant is off the beaten path sort of in a residential area. It looked promising. The food looked good but lacked flavor. The salsas were watery. The shrimp cocktail was filled with shrimp but didn't have hardly any flavor. I don't know if they have Americanized the food and think that they shouldn't use any spice. We would not go back and we love Mexican food. If they would add flavor and spice this would be a great place. The service was good and I liked the decor. We took the leftovers with us and didn't eat them. read more

The service was great but the food was horrible. We ordered a shrimp cocktail which had no flavor to it at all a green chili burrito, that had no flavor to it either and the tortilla was not cooked. We also ordered a michilada that was horrible and oysters. The oysters were the only good part. read more
