Service was friendly both times we visited. It's decorated like any Mexican restaurant, bold colors, adobe look walls, etc. it looks the part. Their margaritas are big. They messed up and didn't put salt on mine as I asked , but not a killer deal. Portions are typical of Mexican restaurants. Huge. Bigger than I should eat. Well, I really DO HATE to write bad reviews. If you see my postings, I AM GENERALLY VERY GENEROUS! Mexican food is MY FAVORITE FOOD...hands down, it is MY VERY MOST FAVORITE FOOD. I have eaten at Casa Sanchez 4 times now. On 11/17/2024 (I am local), I ate there and had delicious vegetarian enchiladas, but there was a hair in my food. I WAS A hospice nurse for 30 years, and...that HAIR...looked like a nose or mustache hair. I ate around it because HUMANS WITH HAIR "NATURALLY' SHED. The food was good. I didn't say a word because they were decent to me. And three of the 4 times I ate there, they were DECENT to me; not great, but average...and acceptable to me. I just want good service and GREAT FOOD. I AM VEGETARIAN. TODAY, I went there because I like the Prescott forest to walk in, and they are just down the road. I LOVE MEXICAN BREAKFASTS. I GREW UP WITH THAT. It took A moment to seat me. There were two groups ahead of me, but there was like...only 6 people in the place. It was 8:30 a.m. It's a CHURCH DAY. the crowd probably comes later after church. I was seated, finally...there was no hurry to seat me. It took about 1 to 2 minute to seat me.. The waitress "APPEARED" {to me} rather lack-luster in her service; smiles that don't reach the eyes (I'm human...I can read body language - which is 90% of how humans "speak" without words. I would know. I AM human. The food was brought the same way. NO SMILE REACHES HER EYES. I ORDER Corn tortillas with my meal, and they brought me flour, and they looked exactly like the corn tortillass. Same size, same color, same look. I am DIABETIC, and corn tortillas have more fiber - and that's healthier. The flour tortillas looked homemade (a plus) but they were dry and STALE. I asked for corn, and 5 minutes later they came out to me: DRY...FLAVORLESS (literally...no flavor except sorta SOUR ...which means...NOT FRESH...BEEN IN THE BAG FOR A WHILE...AS I understand THE FOOD I EAT FOR 60 YEARS. In Mexican food industry, my rule is "IF THE BEANS ARE GOOD, THE PLACE IS GOOD." My beans looked GREAT, but they also had A SOUR TASTE. And that might be OLD BEANS THEY SAVE...intentionally or just to save money...HOW WOULD I KNOW THE DIFFERENCE? The service reveals THE INTENTION...and that's easy. I ate everything except the omelet (Sonoran Omelet with cheese, avocado and enchilada sauce. THE SAUCE WAS BLAND...and that's ok...I HAVE HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, so...bland is ok if there is a flavor...and the sauce also lacked FLAVOR. but the salsa for the chips was average...GOOD...good enough. I won't complain about the chips and salsa. I ate 1/4 of that...ENTREE. I got up, and went to pay my bill. I AM ALWAYS NICE AND KIND IN PERSON, but...THAT LAST PART TRULY DEVASTATED ME. I notice the person taking my payment had long finger nails. The beans were sour...the food was BLAND...and the waitress was lack-luster ("care-less...but I gotta smile.") I give 5 or 10 dollars as tip...UNLESS IT IS REALLY BAD. I gave $5. That means 5/10 - needs improvement. As I was signing and tipping, I noticed a couple come in...and as soon as they came in...THAT PERSON LEFT ME, GOT A MENU AND LEFT ME ALONE...LIKE...I was hardly worth anything. and I'd already left the tip. I left OUTRAGED. That couple DIDN'T LOOK LIKE ME. And I don't look like them or the staff. I'M "MIXED." And I look like a NATIONAL ENEMEY by looks alone. And that's HOW I SAW IT because I KNOW HUMAN NATURE, AND LAWS...DON'T SEEM TO MATTER IN SOME PLACES I'VE LIVED AND WORKED AS A HOSPICE NURSE...and I GREW UP AS WAS BORN JUST 200 MILES FROM HERE. MY DAD IS FROM BLYTH. Did I mention I was a HOSPICE NURSE FOR 30 YEARS...AND WORKED IN A PRISON HOSPICE, TOO? Well...I did, and I know human nature pretty well. I WILL NEVER EAT AT CASA SANCHEZ AGAIN. MY STOMACH WAS SOUR AFTER WARDS...and still is... LONG FINGERNAILS IN A FOOD SERVICE is BAD PRACTICE because when people with long nails go to the bathroom...and don't SCRUP UNDER THEIR NAILS...and then they TOUCH FOOD, PEOPLE CAN GET ECOLI... that's why in NURSING SCHOOL we were told we can't have long nails because we do dressing changes and that can KILL a patient by infections after not washing your hands and nails, too. just saying...I'M REALLY ANGRY AT CASA SANCHEZ. I reported to the owner because I called them after...and was outraged. and all they said was "We don't understand you." I texted the owner when he called from OUT OF TOWN, and so I TEXTED HIM my COMPLAINT and the actions I would take for VIOLATIONS, and he blocked me. read more

We grabbed a quick dinner here when we first arrived in Prescott as it was close to our Airbnb. We didn't look at the reviews until after we had eaten. I don't understand the bad reviews. We both ordered the chili verde - my husband got the entree and I got the burrito. I did not think I would be able to finish the burrito it was so large! But I was hungry and certainly did! They were both delicious! Our waitress was exceptional - constantly checking in, refilling salsa and chips before we even needed to ask, waters, etc. it was great. Ambiance was good too - comfortable booths; sounds like they recently remodeled. Their menu is huge! Parking was easy - lots of spaces. Wait took around 20 minutes and they had a line out the door when we arrived and after we were seated as well. Seems to be a popular local restaurant. I'll take supporting a locally owned and operated restaurant over a chain restaurant, any day! Hands down, great experience and would return. read more

Did an order for pickup and 2x they got the order wrong. Charged us 6.50 for medium salsa but no chips and after they told us chips and salsa comes for free and what size of salsa we wanted. Honestly a complete rip off. And we ended up with one carne asada burrito and a medium salsa after the 2nd time returning. I want to make this review as honest from my perspective as I possibly can. First of all we have been going to Casa Sanchez for several years as we personally like their food and the Margaritas. We have consistently had good service and found the waitresses to always be polite, accommodating and attentive. They have done a nice job updating the interior and it is always clean and inviting. I have recommended Casa Sanchez to many of my friends. My only complaint has been that the food is definitely not hot enough. This has been consistent but I have never said anything or complained about it. My personal preference is Mexican food should be real hot when it is delivered to the table. Today, Dec. 31, 2025 our son in law and my husband and I went for an early dinner. We got there about 4:00 and were the first customers seated in the second dining room. We ordered drinks from our server and a very pleasant young man delivered them. Shortly thereafter the waitress came back to get our order. I ordered a Green Chili Burro and asked her to request the cook to make sure our food was good and hot. She said ok. Then when she took my husbands order, things got uncomfortable. My husband who is 92 years old, has a bit of a problem ordering and it can be a bit confusing for the waitress. He wanted a Tostado with a side of beans and enchilada sauce on the Tostado. This is when the waitress became condescending. She was in a hurry to get his order and she half way turned her back to him, took his order with a very rude condescending smile, then proceeded to our son in law. He placed his order and said he did not want any sour cream. When we got our food, the Enchilada Sauce was on the side (which was not a big deal) and our food was just a little more than warm. My son in law had sour cream which again was not a deal breaker but the temperature of my food was annoying. After a few bites I asked that she nuke my plate as it was not enjoyable, not being hot. She picked up my plate, proceeded to clear a table of dirty dishes with my plate in her hands and it looked like my food had dirty dishes set on top of it. When she returned with my plate I asked about it and she said that did not happen. Ok, so I gave her the benefit of the doubt. Nevertheless she should have taken my food to the kitchen and then come back to clear dirty tables, not do both at the same time. Not one time, while we were there did she come back to check with us to see if we might want another drink or anything else. She came back, cleared what dirty dishes were on our table and brought the 2 bills. We put money on the table with the bills and were told to pay at the cash register. Every other time we have been to Casa Sanchez the waitress took our money and paid the bill. She did this for one of her other customers but not us. We have always left a decent tip. My son in law is a notoriously big tipper. We paid our bill at the register and left NO tip, which is a first for both of us. This waitress was so rude and acted as if she was wasting her time having to deal with the likes of us old folks. She made it very clear by her demeanor that we were a real pain having asked for the extra services. Then on top of that treating my food as if it belonged to the pigs. I do not post restaurant reviews even if they were not to my liking but this one was over the top. I do not know her name but she knows who she is. Here is the ironic part of this review: I have a friend who does Blogs on Restaurants. She lives in Phoenix and is coming to Prescott on Jan. 23rd and asked me if I would join her for lunch somewhere that she had not already been as she wanted to do another review for her blog. Being that Casa Sanchez WAS one of my favorite places to eat I suggested we go there. As of this writing I will have to let her decide if she wants to give it a try given our experience this afternoon. This place got a total remodel and looks great. Chairs and seats are super comfy and no longer cracking like the old ones! The service was great and super friendly. Their street tacos are bomb, although I felt like the tortillas were kinda soggy, but that's my only complaint during the whole experience. Will totally return! read more

Excellent Happy Hour Margarita! Do not trust the Vegetarian menu! The beans are cooked in lard and the rice is cooked in chicken broth. Not vegetarian. When we sat down, the waitress said the 4 vegetarian dishes could be made vegan. We were happy and stayed to eat. However, when we ordered, she told me about the beans and rice. If you have yet to dine at casa Sanchez since the remodel, you must! We don't live local and only get a chance to visit a few times a year and last time we came (November) we learned it was closed temporarily for a remodel and wow was it worth the wait! The inside is beautiful and really bright. They did a great job and it really opened the place up. Our server this evening was Ricardo and he was fantastic! The food was all very fresh. My wife had the grilled fish tacos and I'd have to say, for less than $6 they were some of the best tacos I've had in a long time. Highly recommend! I would like to suggest to the cooks that they eat one of their Chimichangas, prepared just as they would for a customer. I've run into this problem before. You can not put wet filling in a deep fried burrito. The tortilla will become a soggy inedible mess. What were you thinking? Please take heed and try to find a solution. We love your place! Also why would anyone put enchilada sauce on top of a deep fried Chimichanga? The whole idea of Chimichanga is the crispy, crunchy wonderful taste and texture of a deep fried tortilla. Absolutely horrible. They cooked in oil that is stale, made everything taste awful. Told the waitress and the owner about it, as did several other customers. They did not seem to care. I asked three times for a la carte, they brought it with the rice and beans which added $7 to the bill . When I told the waitress she just shrugged and walked away.
