Looking for a good solid Taco or burrito and at a cost price! Check this place out in Bismarck! Tuesday they have a taco special and it's worth the price! I got the carne asada soft tacos with rice and it was very good! Lots of flavor, good size and plenty of food for lunch! Inside is bright and clean which is good and the owners are extremely friendly and work a lot there so the service is great! Ordered dinner through door dash and was hugely disappointed. First, my dinner looked nothing like the picture. They forgot the silverware and the sour cream. Taco Del Mar is a spin-off concept that mimics Qdoba. Made to order burritos and tacos with the typical toppings, meats, and cheeses. The owners are very nice, and it spears me to give this place two stars. But, my mondo burrito was lukewarm at best and the chicken lacked flavor. Just look at my picture. The owner threw it in the microwave to try and melt the cheese. Seriously? Big miss. Avoid the noon hour or you'll find a longer than normal wait. The place is clean which is a sign of how the kitchen stands. But, the food isn't that good and lacks spices and flavors of it's drive-thru competitors. Oh, and that's another thing. It doesn't have a drive-thru. Here's what you can expect... steam your tortilla, spread on some guac, select your meat that lacks flavor, and smother it with a sauce to make it up on the back end. And, the prices are above the typical price point in the market relative to others that offer better options. read more

This is the worst place I have EVER been to for Mexican food. The nachos I ordered are reminiscent of bland high school cafeteria food--lack flavor, barely edible and luke warm. The ground beef tasted as though it was boiled, the queso had the look of a metal can and tasted worse, the guacamole and pico was awful. And my wife's burrito was absolutely horrendous and unedible. Fresh tasty Baja tacos. Yes, it's different from other taco chain restaurants in Bismarck, but that's what makes it unique. Their dill sauce is awesome and it's chipotle version is wonderful. The fish tacos and Baja bowls are the best. Those complaining about spice just didn't try the available sauces. You can make your selection as spicy or as mild as you choose. The Diablo sauce is plenty spicy. The mango salsa is very tasty. Give it a try, you won't regret it. read more

Nowhere near the best Mexican I've ever eaten. My "Wet Burrito" was mediocre at best. Cold (even after nuking?), overpriced, and average. Staff was young but knowledgable and friendly enough. Background music was heavy, and I mean HEAD BANGING HEAVY metal; I swear I heard more than a handful of expletives while there (with my teen daughters). I see a lot of comments about the flavor being off, I have not experienced this. My favorite dish is the fish tacos. They let you substitute anything that you want so you can make it to your liking. They have sauces that you can add to your dish to spice things up. This place is definitely one of my cravings. They are a California based Mexican style of food. read more

You'll see the locals give this place 5 stars but keep in mind that most of them have never had real Mexican food and the majority of the locals consider Taco John's to be edible. The only thing about taco del mar that is better than taco bell is the whole beans. That's it. The food here is the same quality as taco John's and Taco Bell. The meat has that "sat in can" texture and it doesnt have any flavor at all...it is NOT carne asada. This is NOT mexican food. Staff is typical North Dakota people who wouldnt know a real burrito of they saw one but they try to pawn these abominations off as "authentic". One of the staff likes to give customers dirty looks and she rests the tortillas on her dirty forearms before making the burritos. Stay away if you want authentic mexicano...but eat up if you want over priced taco bell. read more

I have been a fan of taco del Mar for years. This establishment was much more generous at their previous location. Taco del Mar is famous for the MONDO burrito. Traditionally it is huge. There is nothing Mondo about the burrito at this location. Very disappointed. I have given theses owners my business for years, but no more. Overpriced, undersized. read more

I work near by so my fiance and I come here regularly for lunch. I love "mexican" food and my fiance never liked it until we started coming to Taco Del Mar. The owners are always super friendly and the food is always great. I think they have a hard time finding reliable staff as there is always new people working but the labor market in Bismarck is tough right now. We have also had them cater some of our business meetings. Always great. Try it out. And to the reviewer who is upset because a restaurant won't go out of their way to meet your vegan or gluten free demands, get a life. read more
