One of the best evenings I have had in a while was here at Fogao Gaucho in Bismarck!! This was the first time I went and I will definitely go back again. The service was top notch and the food was awesome!! I can't believe how good the pineapple was. Wowza!! What topped it off was the manager himself came and served us a flaming Carajillo drink. Had dinner here with my son and daughter for Father's Day. The overall experience was great!! Their salad bar was fantastic. Everything was fresh. I particularly liked the variety of cheeses however do t go crazy on the salad bar because the food you will be getting will satisfy your appetite. There are 19 different meats that get carved at your table. Some of the servings, like the Fillet or the Pacania, you have to ask for. We asked several times before we got any. Our waitress was amazing. It was fairly busy but she was very attentive. The restaurant appears clean and welcoming. For my wife and I our bill was $180. We both had one drink and the meal. Be aware that they add an 18% gratuity and charge 4% to run your card. Overall it was a great experience you should try to satisfy your carnivorous appetite. read more

What comes to mind is WOW! This was our 1st time dining at Fogao Gaucho. I was impressed with the decor inside, the cloth tablecloth's and napkins. The attention to serving the customer was was well noticed. We had the whole dining experience. The salad bar had so many varieties to choose from as well as hot items, all incredibly tasty. The warm popovers that were served at the table, and all the wonderful selections of meat were delishious. The grilled pineapple ended up being dessert for us as our tummys were happy and full. Talk about a great experience! This is exactly what I'm looking for when I go out to eat. My buddy and I were greeted immediately with a warm smile and shown straight to our table. At first, the A/C was blasting on my friend (I didn't mind it), but when we asked to switch tables, the staff couldn't have been more accommodating. No irritation, no hesitation--just genuine care that we were comfortable. That set the tone for the entire evening. The service was phenomenal. From start to finish, the staff truly made us feel like they cared about our experience--and we absolutely had a great one. The food was outstanding: endless fresh cuts of meat, hot off the fire, brought around by gauchos who even asked our preferences for doneness. They brought filet mignon, lamb steaks, and lamb chops cooked exactly the way we wanted them, and every bite was fantastic. The grilled pineapple was also fantastic. The salad bar was also impressive, packed with enough options to be a meal on its own, but honestly, I couldn't pull myself away from the parade of meats. Drinks were equally on point. My buddy enjoyed the Life Changer cocktail (even if it wasn't exactly life-changing), and I went with a few old-fashioneds, all excellently made. We capped off the night with the flaming cheesecake, which was as beautifully presented as it was delicious. Yes, this was a pricier evening out, but it felt absolutely worth it--the cost matched the value. Every detail, from food to drinks to service, was tight and professional. Andrea and Samaya in particular went above and beyond to make our night perfect. I wish I'd taken more photos of the incredible meats, but I was too busy enjoying them as fast as they came out. We made reservations for lunch and it wasn't too busy on a Saturday at 1:30pm. Brunch $45pp You start off with grabbing some food at the salad bar. Then you can flip your card over for meats and pineapple that are served at the table, carved off the spit skewer. They're hot off the grill, so don't burn your tongue! The meal also came with pao de queijo (Brazilian cheese bread - gluten free), fried plantains, fried polenta, and mashed potatoes. Some of our top favorites were the grilled pineapple, spicy beef, lambchops, filet mignon, bacon wrapped chicken/beef, Parmesan pork, and pork ribs. You can try a bite of everything and you can also make special requests if what you want hasn't come around. Definitely come hungry because you will leave very full. The key is to not fill up on carbs so you can enjoy more meats. Every table had a bottle of sparkling water set in the middle (not complimentary) so be aware. We just asked for tap water. read more

Made a reservation for Saturday night but probably didn't need to because it wasn't overly full. We both ordered the specialty dinner that comes with the salad bar. Prices are a bit steep but it is all you can eat at $55 per person. And dont forget the fee for using a credit card. The meats were all fantastic and some were well seasoned and others leveraged the natural flavors of the meat. Everything was very good. My guest especially liked the pineapple stating it tasted like apple pie. The salad bar on the other hand falls a little short compared to other restaurants with a similar concept. There's a couple of rice options and a salad bar of stuff but I couldn't find the actual salad aside from premixed Caesar salad. Service was attentive with the gauchos circulating regularly ready to add meat to your plate. Ambiance is pleasant, slightly upscale however you see patrons dressed across the board. Tables are very close together making the floor plan a little crowded with all the servers and gauchos. I would likely come back next time I'm in Bismarck. read more

Thank goodness for this option we get to have coming from Minot. So it was well worth the drive. The salad bar was amazing and lots of options, potato salad, kale salad and fresh mozzarella, to charcuterie style meats and cheese, plus some smoked salmon and some shrimp ceviche just to name a few. It's not your Ruby Tuesday salad Bar it's catered to this type of restaurant . The endless servings of meat - 13 different types and we didn't even get to try it all ! Just means we will be back!! We went during dinner time and opted for the full experience $55 per person for all you can eat meat not including the mash potato, fried plantain and bread / plus garlic cheese bread that they bring and access to the salad bar. It's A LOT of food for $55 per person and smack in the middle of North Dakota. The ambience and the servers were top notch!! The ambiance is very welcoming and calm. You can feel relaxed in a casual but fancy dining room. The service is outstanding! Everyone knows how to do their job well! Service with a smile and a personality which is so nice to have while dining. The owner was so inviting and kept telling us we can stay as long as we want and relax and just enjoy. He was super personal and conversationalist. Professional but leaves you like you are family. The food it amazing! You get what you pay for for sure! Five Stars for Fagao Gaucho Brazilian Grill in Bismarck! I've enjoyed Fagao Gaucho in the Twin Cities before, so when I saw one had opened in Bismarck, I was curious--but kept my expectations low. After all, could a smaller city match the quality I'd experienced in a major metro? To my surprise, the Bismarck location exceeded expectations. The food was just as flavorful and satisfying as I remembered, and the service? Even better. The staff were incredibly attentive--almost too attentive! I'd barely finished my plate before someone was handing me a fresh one. It may sound like an exaggeration, but it really was that seamless. If I had to find a "complaint," it's that the service was too good--which, let's be honest, is hardly a problem. Highly recommend checking out Fagao Gaucho in Bismarck. I've went to a similar restaurant in Atlanta GA so I thought I would give this one a try way up here in Bismarck ND. It was mediocre in comparison to Atlanta in meat being served and service by our server. The servers who served the meats table side service were all men and wore gauchos which appeared authentic and brought the Brazilian feel to the restaurant. Wow! Amazingly sophisticated gem of a restaurant in Bismarck, ND! A delightful surprise. Authentic variety. Well mixed cocktails that take the edge off of a long day of driving. The salad bar is phenomenal--so much variety--a meal in itself. The meat is prepared authentically Brazilian style. The ambiance is conducive to conversation and savoring the melt in your mouth cuisine--so rare in restaurants lately. The staff is professional, super attentive, cheerful and not intrusive--absolutely delightful. Bring a good appetite and just sit back and enjoy! We have traveled the world and pass through Bismarck a couple times a year going to and from our camp. A stop in Bismarck has become de rigeur just to dine at this restaurant. read more

We had a great day date with our friends! So many options at the salad bar and meat. Round after round of delicious meats were brought out by the Gauchos. Our favorites Lamb, Garlic Beef, & Spicy Beef. I fell in love with the grilled pineapple. The Brazilian soda was so good I got one to go. Beautiful, spacious atmosphere. Excellent service from the Gauchos. When I asked for the lamb & pineapple they brought it right out.
