Nice atmosphere here. We were seated by the hostess in a booth with menus and our waiter was by shortly with a bowl of popcorn. Our waiter was excellent. The hostess mentioned it was taco tuesday. I didn't see anything on the menu about tacos so I looked up their website where it's listed. I ordered birria beef tacos and was surprised by what I received. Not sure if this is common to this area or a Lucky's interpretation: cheese is melted onto the outside of a flour shell, birria meat is placed mid-shell w/crema over top. It was tasty. Just very confusing because that isn't what I think of when I think Taco. Overtired and very confused and our waiter really handled it so well. Aside from my taco turmoil my Caeser salad was very tasty and fresh. My dining companion had a half Reuben and chili. The Reuben also was different from our accustomed 'build'. Shredded meat was mixed with dressing (vs thin sliced with saurkraut on top and thousand island dressing as a condiment). We are so far away from home we have no idea is this the ND way? Or the chef's interpretation? No worries. This is a knife and fork sandwich for sure. The chili is topped with Frito cornchips and cheese melted over all. A filling meal. This is a family friendly restaurant with a huge bar and a fun vibe. TV's all around and a few slot games in the bar. There is an actual changing table in the ladies room for diapering. We've been to this restaurant many times over the years and have always had a good experience but today's visit was very disappointing. We, along with two other parties, waited inside the door for over 5 min to even be acknowledged by a host/hostess. Once seated our server arrived promptly and we ordered soon after but then waited over 20 minutes for our food to arrive. My wife's food wasn't hot and mine was the wrong order. I waited another 10 minutes for my order to be prepared and then when it arrived, it seemed it had been hastily made and quite frankly just didn't taste good. We waited another long time for the waitress to come again so that we could just ask for our check to leave. No apology at the door for the poor host service. No apologies for the long wait for food or that they brought me the wrong order. Just really poor service today. It'll be a while before we'll consider coming back. read more

Brought some college kids here for dinner, and we had a great time. The atmosphere was lively and family-friendly--even though it's a pub. They weren't overly busy for a Friday night, and we only waited a few minutes for a table. Right after being seated, they brought out fresh-popped popcorn, which the kids immediately devoured. We also tried the giant pretzel and cheese curds. Both were tasty, though not particularly memorable. The pretzel cheese definitely seemed canned, while the curds appeared homemade--but both appetizers felt a bit overpriced for what you get ($14 for cheese curds seems steep, though maybe that's just the area). Burgers seem to be the star of the menu, with lots of options to choose from. Two of the kids ordered burgers and said they were cooked perfectly. Another ordered the Minnesota Bowl, which was unique but a little underwhelming. The menu describes walleye on wild rice, but it's actually served on white rice with just a sprinkling of wild rice--worth noting for anyone watching their glycemic index. I ordered the walleye tacos, which were quite good. The fresh slaw and special sauce balanced out the spice from the blackening seasoning nicely. Overall: Service was attentive and friendly--our server kept our waters and popcorn filled throughout the meal. The drink menu looked fun, and I'd definitely come back to try one of those and explore more of the menu next time. read more

Came here our 24 year anniversary. Mistakenly thought it was a steak house but it good. Husband had the buffalo burger on a fresh bun with kettle chips. I had the blackened walleye with the cucumber salad. The salad was mixed with an Asian sauce and looked like pecans. There was coleslaw and tartar sauce along with it. The walleye sat on a lettuce leaf which I think could have been left off the plate it made the walleye have strange taste. We were seated immediately. The service was great and staff friendly. This is a great spot to stop for appetizers and drinks, dinner, or breakfast! We were in Bismarck for a baseball tournament and decided to stop here for a cold drink and some appetizers. First of all, the atmosphere here is terrific with great seating, and our server was just great! We had Blackened Walleye Tacos and onion rings! The tacos were fresh and fabulous. The onion rings are HUGE and we ate every one of them! We enjoyed the service, atmosphere, and food so much we decided to stop the next morning for breakfast! I had the Avocado Eggs Benedict and it was so good! We have a Lucky's 13 in our home town, but sadly they don't serve this breakfast menu. We will definitely be stopping here on our next trip to Bismarck! read more

I was glad to see Lucky's 13 open again. I have always enjoyed this fine establishment. The atmosphere is casual and comfortable; the staff is friendly, efficient, and welcoming. They have awesome burgers and a full menu with something for everyone. On this visit, I enjoyed the Cobb Salad with thousand island dressing. It was wonderful and the dressing home made. Just ate at Lucky's 13. There's a sandwich called Lucky Mi. The description states "Char-siu " chicken. I asked the server what that meant. He said he didn't know; did I want his to ask? Sure. He leaves, comes back and said iOS a marinade. I asked what's in the marinade. He said he didn't know, that they don't tell him that. "It's Asian." So, either it's a big secret or the chef doesn't know the ingredients he/she is cooking with. My husband had a Rueben and actually spat out some because it was so gristly. My mom and I dined here on 8/27... so they've only been open for a few weeks, but honestly, it was awful. Like, everything was awful. Our server was very nice, and you could tell she felt badly because she knew we weren't happy, but she really wasn't around much and didn't really do much to resolve the situation. The floor was covered in trash. For a second, i thought maybe they have a Texas Roadhouse thing going on, but there was legitimately garbage everywhere. Maybe they had just gotten over a rush, but if I was serving here and my tips were at stake, I'd sweep the floor a little bit. My sandwich was burnt and my onion rings were undercooked and not properly breaded, and our dessert skillet was ice cold. The burger was okay, but not okay enough to make up for how bad everything else was. Not that I was expecting a free meal, but I feel like anywhere else, if everything that had come out to our table was improperly made, and we had to complain several times, the ticket is usually comped. We didn't even see a manager in the time we were there and it was not at all busy. Don't waste your money here :( read more

They took an egg white omelette and knocked the flavor out of the park! My husband ordered the breakfast burrito and enjoyed the meal. This is my new favorite breakfast spot in Bismarck. Ordered the sweet roll to go- couldn't pass it up after seeing them at other tables. We are in town visiting from NC! I really really really enjoyed the shrimp appetizer dish I ordered. It was so tasty and full of flavor, with just enough spicy goodness. The Mac N cheese was good too! Not too weird that my kid wouldn't eat it, but slightly better then the generic stuff I cook at home. Fries were good. I don't remember what my friends got, I know that my one friend came Twice that day just for the nachos! He loves them. I was impressed with the food, and the atmosphere. But the service was lacking. I didn't feel like it was a home town place, it was very chain link, impersonal feel. The waitresses did not try to connect with us at all, and just did her job and left. She brought us the check super quickly, and did not come back the table to check on us after that. Besides the service, I really enjoyed being here and would love to give it another try! A great spot in South Bismarck, close to the mall, the event center, and downtown! We have been to Lucky's 13 a few times now and really like it! It is a great cozy bar and restaurant with a great menu! In the summer time a love sitting outside on their patio! My favorite food items here have been anything with their walleye! I have had the walleye egg rolls, tacos, sandwich, and eggs benedict! I love that they offer this traditional North Dakota fish and I have always enjoyed their variety of unique offerings! Along with their walleye, their other selections of food are all really good and they have a great bar too! I highly recommend stopping into Lucky's 13 for yourself! read more

We all had Horseradish Bloody Mary's that were absolutely delicious. They had a gluten free menu for one of our members (rice and Chicken with amazing garlic sauce) Everything was so yummy and the atmosphere was clean and great. The service was exceptional. Thank you. Now some might think this is no big deal but I travel for business, DC, MSP, Chicago, etc. Hands down, Tyler was the best server I have had! He was attentive and made excellent recommendations. I had my two kids with me and he was amazing with them as well! Now the food: Also sooooooo good. I had the Lucky 13 burger. It was good but the walleye tacos my partner had, are the best fish tacos I have had! The steak fries were cooked perfectly. The kid's Mac and cheese was homemade and delicious. The portion sizes were large but to the point where you feel wasteful. The kids portion was large enough for "big" kids too! We will definitely be back! It was pretty good! The lettuce wraps were surprisingly yummy! they used romaine sort of more of a dipper than a wrap with Sriracha sauce and soy sauce. I didn't care at all for the signature tots. They were not tots at all. They were like stuffed potato cheese rolls. Cheese curds were good but not the best I have had . Service was super nice . Well what can I say about this 'Lucky' pub... Lets start off with the drinks, I ordered a strawberry mojito and my boyfriend got a Dr Pepper. The mojito was watered down but still had a nice strawberry flavor so I drank it anyway. The Dr Pepper however tasted like vanilla, and was flat. Our waiter took about 20-25 minutes to get our food orders. Not terrible, our food came out hot. But they forgot my boyfriends sweet potato fries, so we had to ask the runner who brought us our food to get them. My boyfriends burger was supposed to be well done, and it came out medium. I had the L13 Tots, the only good thing about our time there. Our service Travis was very polite, but extremely slow, we asked him for the check and he took about 30 minutes. Then came back to our table and asked us if we wanted the check, which we'd previously asked for. All in all I probably won't be going back read more

My husband & I received a gift card and we went there last night to try it out. Was very excited as there was a lot to choose from. I ordered fettuccine Alfredo with shrimp and I requested no parmesan cheese on it. I also ordered a grasshopper drink. Our meal came out and my pasta tasted awful. I asked if there was parmesan cheese in it and the waiter stated that he put on the ticket not to put any in. I told him that there was cheese in it. He said he would talk to the chef. Apparently there is cheese in their Alfredo sauce which is very odd. I told him I didn't care for it and he asked me if I wanted anything else instead. I ordered a hamburger and fries. He told me he would see if he could not charge me for the hamburger, but couldn't promise me. When we got the check, the Grasshopper drink was $6.50 and it was a very small drink (very overpriced) and I was charged for the Alfredo pasta with shrimp even though I didn't eat it. What the hell? ?? A manager never even came out to apologize. My husband ordered the steak and stroganoff and it was so spicy and salty he could barely eat it. It said nothing on the menu about it being spicy. My husband chose not to say anything and if I was there without him, I would have asked for the manager about being charged for the dinner I didn't even eat due to the taste. My husband just wanted to pay and go. We weren't charged the burger, (how nice of them). Got that to go amd left. Glad it was a gift card and not our money.
