I've been to this taco bueno countless times and have always had the best experience! Today that absolutely did not happen. The girl working the window was very annoyed with me when I was trying to explain to her that I wanted the jalapeno ranch and when I accidentally said "jalapeno ranch salsa" she snapped at me and extremely rudely goes "yeah that's ranch not salsa" she then proceeded to give me my food and aggressively handed it to me and slammed the window door shut, also without giving me my drink..she stormed off and I waited for about a minute to remind her about the drink but then just accepted that she wasn't going to come back so I left without it! While the food is fine, the service is incredibly hit or miss. Ordered a burrito and a chicken quesadilla - pretty standard items. I sat in the drive thru with a line of cars behind me for 15 minutes. I literally heard someone in a car behind me say, "Come on!" No one came to the window to explain any issues during that entire time. Add on the price of menu items, and it's not worth it. Then they left something out of my order. The guy shut the window and turned his back to me so he didn't have to answer. Another worker looked at me three times but never came to the window. This is literally the slowest "fast food" place I've ever been. It took them 15 minutes to take my order (I was trapped between a car behind me and in front of me so I couldn't just leave). It took another 30 to 35 to actually get through the line far enough to pay for it and then another 10 minutes waiting for the food. After all that waiting, my large queso was half for the burritos I had were not good. The next time I went there, the line took 20 minutes and there were only 3 people in front of me. If I could do this without giving them a star, I would. My husband has gone through the drive through twice this month. Both times have been a horrible experience. Tonight was the worst. He asked the guy at the window if he could have some salsa. Notice he wasn't offered salsa. He had to ask for it. The guy didn't acknowledge that he asked. Then he reaches out to hand my hubs the drinks. My hubs says, "oh, these aren't marked, do you know which is which?" The guy says, "no." Then slides the door closed. Finally hands him a bag of salsa and never says anything to him. My hubs says thanks as he is slamming the door shut. Also, while the hubs is waiting for the food, the guy has his back to my husband and is holding his phone down low doing something on the phone. Very slow. The drive thru line was backed up by 5 people when I got there. Which was fine. Ordered two Combo burritos, soft taco, queso, two bean burritos, two dr peppers, and a muchaco. Had to repeat my Order twice. Pulled out of the drive through and was charged and given two party burritos instead of combo. I pulled around and went inside. And waited 15 minutes for two burritos. Finally left and found our both of my dr peppers were actually coke. When I left there were 15 people in line. Went in today and ordered. Restaurant was fairly empty. Sat for about 20 minutes without getting my food. Went to see what was up and the three employees working just decided to not make my food. Ugh... An untimely loss. The food is still the same, but the staff have decided to just stop caring. The gentleman beging the counter was sweet and friendly, but very slow to enter the orders. What he did enter turned out to be wrong as well. My mother wanted soft tacos for her meal, they were all crunchy. My fiance wanted one soft one crunchy, they were both soft. I had ordered a mexidip and chip, minus the guac with another bean, and it came with the guac and a scoop of bean on the side. The middle of the kitchen had a standing pool, about 6ft wide, of dirty grey water. The staff just walked through it, dragging it around through the the kitchen and into the dining area. The salsa bar was filthy, salsa everywhere. The jaleoeno were nasty little wrinkled blob floating in a yellowish water. The onions had began to dry and shrivel. TL;DR:. Drive-thru! I can handle bad "mexican" food like Taco Bell or Del Taco, but Taco Bueno brings it to a whole 'nother level. Even my mom who has the most whitewashed taste buds you can imagine asked me, "how can they call this mexican food?" About as bland as it gets. I had a black bean burrito add potatoes. Never really tasted many black beans nor potatoes, it was mostly rice, which was far and away the worst rice I've ever had. No idea how they can mess rice up this bad. My mom and I both agreed it had to have been jasmine rice they've had boiling for days. Super gummy and asian/floral tasting white rice. I absolutely LOVE bueno. The food is consistently good and close to my work. However, the service here is TERRIBLE. So slow during lunch; even when it's not very busy. I come for dinner occasionally and the workers are great. I understand they may be understaffed, but when you're waiting for 10/15 mins at the drive thru waiting to get your order taken, it's a bit annoying, especially on a 30 min lunch break. Also, there is one worker in particular that gives me the CREEPS. He only works during the day, from what I can tell, and his name is Shaun. He is just extremely weird. I am a young 20 y/o female and the way he stares/looks at me and the way he talks to me is very concerning. Very awkward and uncomfortable and I don't trust him one bit. I will no longer be returning for lunch because the last 6/7 times I have gone, he has been working the drive thru and gets weirder everytime. Bueno.... I came here about a year ago and I've never been back. When I got to the drive through with a friend of mine we were told (1 and 1/2 hours) before close that they had turned off the grill so they could not make half the items on the menu. My friend looked at me, shouted "TAACCOO BBBEELLL!" Into the microphone, and reversed all the way out of the drive through to go across the street to Taco Bell. OMG!!!! THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!! I went through the drive through during the lunch hour and the order kiosk was broken so we had to order at the window, I understand that. What I do NOT understand is the service. Not only did the lady at the window act like she was trying to get rid of everyone as fast as possible, she was rude. She didnt wait for me to complete my order before cutting me off, she threw my food at me instead of handing it to me. I even had to remind her that i ordered a drink, which was not easy since she slammed the window in my face after she threw my order at me. As a native of Okla and longtime Stillwater resident I would visit Taco Bueno several times a year. The quality of the food has gone straight downhill consistently over time. Today it's even worse than that. Barely edible ! And as a lifelong chunky girl, believe me, I am not hard to please. Taco shells were stale, barely any cheese on burritos and tacos. And every item so bland the cardboard container of our Wholelatta box would have been just as edible. Even after pouring in salsa I barely got ny burrito down and stopped after two bites of a taco. The chips were stale as well, beans and all no salt or seasoning WHAT SO EVER....and I do not use salt in my cooking and rarely add any salt to my food. 8/17/17 Ordered a Beef Taco Salad (asked them not to skimp me as they like to skimp badly) and it costs over $5.00. I also ordered the Mexi Cali Dips, 2 soft tacos without lettuce or tomato and add sour cream, and a re fried beans with extra chili sauce. My order came to over $16.00!!!!!! Of course, after receiving my order, I pulled around to check it.... and to no surprise the Taco Salad was badly skimped! I was furious! I asked, yet again not to be skimped! I get fed up seeing this big tortilla bowl, a toss of lettuce, looks like maybe a table spoon of ground beef, and a sprinkle of shredded cheese and a scoop of sour cream and guacamole on the side. What the hell is this? I paid over $5.00 for that? Compare it to the photo and it is what we call, getting skimped and ripped off! So, I again, have to get out of my car, take it inside, and I am waiting at the counter. I was totally ignored by all staff for nearly 2 minutes. Finally this tall lanky skinny younger guy in all black, no name tag and very greasy looking came to the counter. I ask to speak to the manager. He said he was the GM. I said I order this and specifically asked not to be skimped. He replied with, "I know. I heard you order it and I'm the one who made it. It's correct and those are the proportions." I told him, the proportions are incorrect and please add more food. He said he could not because it is correct proportions. I explained, getting very frustrated, I have lived in this town all my life and eaten this Taco Salad at Taco Bueno for years and this is NOT correct proportions! There is hardly anything even in this bowl! I also said that you are going to deny me proportions based on your concept of correct proportions and make me leave an unhappy customer... in which you are very aware of social media... correct? He said, "Yes, he's aware and the proportions are correct." I again told him, I'm not leaving until you give me more food for this Salad! He gave me a bean bowl size of lettuce and a cheese sauce bowl of meat. I explained that other managers happily fix the issue. I asked for his name since he was not wearing a name tag. He said, "My name is CASEY and that's why I'm now the GM because the previous GM's ran this place into the ground!" Not only was I offended, outraged, and appalled.... I sincerely hope CASEY is terminated immediately because that is % horrible customer service! And to to say that about other GM's which I found to be excellent, is not a very good business mentality. Let alone if you think skimping people is going to get you far, because us customers are not fools...... you are in for a rude awakening and do not even need to be a GM ever!!!!! That is % bad business! And upon checking my other food... thanks a lot - NOT - as you skimped me on those as well! Dear Stillwater community, I highly recommend Taco Bell! The beans. SO SALTY. I was not impressed and will not return. I don't expect authentic Mexican food when I go to fast food chain restaurants, but I do expect the food to be good.
