This was my first time visiting the Taco Bros location on Woodward Avenue and my second time at Taco Bros overall, and I have to say--the food is very consistent. I ordered a burrito along with chips and salsa, rice, and beans, and everything was absolutely delicious. The rice and beans were especially good--I ended up eating them with my nacho chips and it was the perfect combo. The burrito was packed with flavor and made just right, which is exactly what you hope for when trying a different location. The only small difference I noticed compared to the West Bloomfield location is that there, they brought out the chicken and salsa right away with the drink cup and even provided a container to dump the chips into. That said, it's a very minor detail and definitely doesn't take away from how great the food was here. Overall, Taco Bros on Woodward delivers the same high‑quality, tasty experience I've come to expect. The original Tacos Bros was great, but like a lot of businesses that scale up and go the franchise route, they turn into a robotic operation where the food just tastes average. This is the Royal Oak spot. I ordered the burrito with al pastor, rice, beans, lettuce and tomatoes, ran about $13-14. The al pastor tasted like a marinated rip off, the kind that's cooked on the flat iron once a day and dropped into metal bins with pre-measured scoops, instead of shaved off a traditional trompo (the vertical rotisserie, the spinning top). Not the real thing. One thing I'll give them is the service was A+. The manager or owner was nice and very polite. The wait was fast too, ordered and out in under 6 minutes. Price was decent for what it is. If you're craving "authentic" Mexican it's worth a try, mostly because the quick service options in this area are pretty limited. read more

Ordered a super (normal sized) Chicken quesadilla, two side of pinto beans, chips and large salsa, chips and large guacamole, Esquite, vegan chorizo bowl. $65.53 Not cheap for a fast casual Mexican spot. The red salsa is mild. Chips after a couple of stale ones aren't bad. Crunchy. Chicken quesadilla was pretty good, the super is a good size. The vegan chorizo is so-so. The vegan cheese tastes rubbery and odd to me, then again so does vegan chorizo. Not for me. The side of beans is decent. Esquite is super creamy, more like a soup here. Not quite what I expected. It's subpar. The guacamole is bland, not a lot of flavor to it. The green salsa is spicier, it's pretty good. read more

We have ordered Taco Bros a couple of times through a service and again, we weren't disappointed. The food is consistently tasty, warm and fresh. We ordered the Chubby Tacos - basically two street tacos with a healthy portion of meat of your choice and Pico in both flour and corn tortillas, Quesidilla with chicken which is a small, tasty version of the typical,a side of rice (just OK) and an order of churros - REALLY good. Located off of busy Woodward with their own small parking lot. Inside is a new looking large space, bright and airy, with an arty epoxy floor. You order at an ordering station to the cashier, and get a drink cup and move down a large counter space there for no reason to the drink area, then get a seat and they bring you your food. The staff was polite and quick. Which makes it tough to give them two stars. The food was fairly tasteless and borderline poorly prepared, and very expensive even if it had been good street style food. read more

First timer to the Taco Bros on Woodward. I was greeted by a friendly attendant when I walked up to the counter and noticed that even though they seemed to have some great meat options, they gave seemingly equal share to vegetarian and even vegan options with several plant based meat substitutes. I got the loaded burrito and made it vegetarian (real cheese) with some chips and salsa. The salsa that came with the chips was great, mild but a good flavor. The salsa that came with the chips was okay. I had to try both the regular nacho salsa and the green "hot" salsa. The green salsa I was excited to try but it was bland and not very hot. I got some hot sauce to spice it up a bit. The burrito was mui perfecto and just what I wanted. They also served a variety of a possibly locale pop/soda that seemed to be on the natural side with cane sugar and such. It was amazing. Reminded me of Faygo, but not quite as sweet. A little odd location and dining area but the food and service more than made up for it. I will repeat and you should too. read more

Very rude and horrible customer service. I normally don't even leave reviews but I absolutely had to so that others can be cautioned about going to the one in Royal Oak. The burrito was wet, messy, sloppy, and cold. It wasn't even anywhere near warm from me walking from the building to my car it was literally cold. And if you want anything on the side and not on your burrito, it's an extra charge. If I'm paying for a burrito that comes with beans and I want my beans on the side and not on the burrito which I am already paying for there's no way that you should tell me you would have to charge me. While I understand that the prices and protocols at local businesses are going to be different than let's say a chipotle there is no reason for them to be that absolutely ridiculous. I also told the guy who took my order that I wanted the guac on the side along with the beans then that's when he went on to say he would have to charge me for the beans, but I absolutely told him that I wanted the guac on the side. When I called back to mention it he was very rude , hostile, and was basically wanting to argue with me saying no, you didn't say that. It's 2026 at the end of the day there's no reason for that type of customer service but I was busy and that's the only reason why I did not take the whole burrito back in there and get a refund which probably would've been another issue on top of everything else. I know this is a long review, but places like these seem not to care nowadays not recognizing that your business is not only just based off of the quality of your food but your customer service as well and when you get bad reviews, it is going to affect your business no matter what way you try to spit it or think of it. read more

Potentially the best casual Mexican spot in the Birmingham area. I ordered several items to try and everything was good; some even great. The tortilla chips were perfectly salted (good amount of salt on them) and the guac was great. The red mild salsa is the best salsa I've ever had. I could chug it by the gallon. I got the torta with steak and it was to die for. Perfectly seasoned steak. I would not put the steak up for being the best you'll have due to a few less than tender pieces, but still pretty pretty good. The California burrito was a bit lacking in meat quantity (torta had a good amount) and was also a bit soggy (takeout so understandable, but still). Pass on this. Finally, the steak quesadillas dipped into that salsa was my favorite bite. Get a torta. Get a quesadilla or two. Get chips and guac. Have yourself a great meal. read more
