    Oh yes !!! Tacos
    Franklin M.

I stopped by to grab a bite to eat. I really wanted to order Huevos a La Mexicana for breakfast but they didn't have it on their menu. I ordered a Carne Asada burrito with everything and it was pretty good. At first bite it reminded me of what King Taco burritos tasted like many years ago. The burrito was good but not the best I've had, this restaurant was busy.

Great tacos, burritos, beans and rice. Fresh avocado, peppers and cilantro. Everything from this place was tasty and flavorful. I like Tex-Mex, so I asked for flour tortilla and the guy thought I was an idiot asking for such thing.

Today was an unctuous lunch for my pre-health, college buddies & me at this Taco Boy =P. Before I'll let my feelings out for the food, I'll sorta quickly mention that it's in a small plaza w/ tacky blue benched seating, housing a few arcade games--including one where one of the prizes is a mini toy laser gun (Hey, it's based on observation!), an HDTV, free wifi, & the required salsa bar. Service, however, can be slow according to my friends' previous visits. At least the counter guy was cool b/c no language barrier was involved, & so it was very comfortable for me to speak English ^_^. And in terms of quality, you better not expect more than top-notch; simply put, it's a get-what-you-paid-for, cheap deal! Now on w/ the food...I got a regular Diet Coke & 3 street-sized tacos worth $5: one Carne Asada, one Carnitas, & one Lengua. 1st off, all were dreadfully greasy, but the 1st two were 2.5 star material =/: tender but not so flavorful, even w/ the pretty hot chili & the diced onions & cilantro on top. However, let me also mention that I was very reluctant in trying out the Lengua (Tongue) Taco for the 1st time ^_^. But b/c I trust my Hispanic friends who have eaten this even during childhood & b/c I heart Yelp, I went for it. And believe me, it's NOT game-y nor odd as I thought. This Lengua Taco was surprisingly super succulent: this meat was buttery-like & not at all rubbery nor chewy as opposed to other lengua tacos my friends have tried at other taco restaurants/stands. And finally I'll note about some of my friends' meals & the extras. The Carne Asada Torta, according to 1 friend, was delicious especially due to the toasty bun & mayo-seeped beef; the Al Pastor taco was incredibly spicy--by default; the Hashbrown was wonderfully crispy yet simultaneously so greasy; & the red salsa (not the one w/ seeds) from the salsa bar left my mouth quite singed for good several minutes. So I'd say head onto Taco Boy & munch on the delicious Lengua Taco--if you dare. Oh, I almost forgot the bonus: this taqueria does $1 Taco Tuesdays!!!

GREAT FOOD! Authentic Mexican food, great atmosphere, nice selection, humble workers, and great prices - tacos at this price are a must try! This will probably be your next taco Tuesday go to spot and the tacos are NOT small . Family owned business that has been around for 33 years. The owner is often in and a great guy who cares about his workers. This is a hidden gem that has 2 locations nearby each other to satisfy the amount of people enjoying their great food.

Omg I could not even finish my torta

Thank you Ashley for such great service, attentiveness professionalism. The owners were very sweet, polite and attentive. Great and humbled owners. For us, that's El Ranchito in Huntington Park. It's a family-owned, authentic Mexican restaurant that has had the community on its back for the last 6 decades. They hand-make the tortillas right in front of you, serve up fresh chunky guac, and make their iconic Mama Avila's soup fresh daily. It's rare that a soup has me hitting a stank face, but here we are. The Camarones al mojo de ajo is a can't miss appetizer. It's succulent shrimp sauteed in butter and fresh garlic, made to be eaten with the piping hot homemade tortillas. They have all the traditional Mexican dishes, my brothers go to is the chile relleno, but I always just run the fajitas. I'm sure I'll get clowned for this, but nothing heals my trauma and existential dread like a plate of sizzling fajitas. My pops has worked in the area for longer than I've been alive, so El Ranchito has seen every iteration of me, and of my family. For that, I am grateful. My favorite appetizer are the Molletes which are toasted bolillos with chorizo and bean spread topped with cheese and pico de gallo. My favorite plates are the Carne en su Jugo, which is pork in green chilli sauce, and the Albondigas beef meatball soup. The soup is plentiful and doesn't disappoint in flavor. The meatballs are tender and have a perfect flavor profile of herbs and spice. Honestly, nothing disappoints here. The Pollo in Mole is also delicious. The tortillas are fresh and hand made. The Pollo con Rajas is creamy, cheesy, flavorful and the chicken has always been juicy underneath all that sauce, cooked perfectly. I've also had the teak tacos and they're filling, tasty, and a perfectly compliment to anything you will order. The sides are usually rice and beans and they've always been perfect. Service is attentive, the food has its charm with in-house made tortillas. It really was a hard review to write because all the elements of a great restaurant is embodied in this hidden gem. I chalk it up to ordering the wrong items. The flavors did not pop for me. Hubby opted for the chorizo and he said it was decent and he described it as "diet chorizo"--that he'd probably needed to go back to Sinaloa to capture the true essence of "real" chorizo, the way it's meant to be. The star of his meal was the in-house made flour tortillas-now that's authentic! This is/was the reason that it leaned towards a 4 star. These looked and tasted phenomenal. The aroma took me back to the times when we visited Rosarito's Puerto Nuevo, as the lady made the tortillas by hand & pressed them in the comal, ahh, good times. I ordered the vegetarian omelette with beans & potatoes. The omelette was decent with fresh bell peppers & onions but the seasoning was so mild that I requested for salt & pepper. The potatoes appeared well seasoned in color but lacked that oomph that salt & pepper couldn't fix. My apple pancakes were average. While I appreciated the strawberry compote, there was no apple or apple taste in them. To wash everything down, I had cafe de olla, that was good. The aroma of the brown sugar & cinnamon was ever present. Estrella, our server was very welcoming, attentive and friendly, she gets 5 stars for her service with a smile & hospitality. Their lunch & dinner menu looked very appealing but we wanted breakfast items. We wish we were both molé enthusiasts then perhaps we would've better appreciated & enjoyed those offerings. Both indoor & outdoor seating (front & rear), parking is free & shared with their liquor store at this corner small plaza. Beware, no restrooms available. I'm glad we gave this little shop a try.
