Best nachos. The chips here are different from your usual Mexican taco place. These are not from a bag that you can buy anywhere. These look like the chips are fried in house. You can also get these nachos with your choice of meat. I strongly recommend the asada. They will give you salsa and pickled jalapeños with giant carrots and onions on the side. The pickled carrots and onions look like they are also pickled in-house. It's just perfect. Today I tried the flauta plate. The flautas were okay. The plate comes with rice and beans. The flautas come on a bed of lettuce and topped with guacamole. I like my flautas with lettuce, sour cream and salsa, so I purchased some sour cream for $.75. I shared the plate with my daughter. I'm not sure that I'll order again. The tacos are always good and I think it's their most popular item on the menu. read more

My go to is the wet burrito with green salsa that packs HEAT carne asada inside with rice and pinto beans is the perfect trifecta. As mentioned the salsa verde has flavor and heat is not for those who don't do well with spicy. The burrito is definitely in my top 5. Always add the guac and lettuce for a nice touch. There's a reason this place is still up and running throughout all of these years. I've always came here since I was a kid and the food still tastes amazing till this day and the customer service is great. The food may be a little pricey but the food is definitely worth it once you try it. The tacos & burritos (regular and wet) are definitely my top pics but nothing beats the carne asada nachos. The only thing that does seem upsetting about this place is that they only accept cash. But other than that, this place is definitely a place to try out if you haven't given it a chance. read more

Sometimes the best food comes from these kinda rundown looking places. In this AZ case,even the chicken was great and it was white meat, which was very unusual. The cashier (,mom,) spoke no spanish, but the cook said the chicken is cooked in a sauce with onions and peppers. That chicken, plus rice and whole pinto beans and cilantro etc made for a memorable burrito. I added a 75 cents side of guacamole which was a perfect compliment to the chicken. Still the best place for nachos! Simple and straight to the point with crispy freshly made tortilla chips, finely cooked and chopped meat, and plenty of nacho cheese. This is my childhood place growing up in Maywood it was one of my go to spots it never disappoints. The food is just like I remembered so good! My favorite thing to eat at el Indio is the Gordita de pastor so delicious!! My husband had the Carne asad nachos another great hit! Don't for the carne asada burrito so yummy! Service is great! I've been coming to this spot since 2004 when I was still a student at St. Rose of Lima. Even when my family ended up moving an hour away from the area in 2009 we always made the effort to stop by every once in a while because we've never had tacos/burritos as good as this place. Now, as an adult who happened to move back to LA I find myself coming here from time to time when I feel like breaking my diet. ;) My go to has always been the Al Pastor burrito. This review is based off of dozens of visits in the past three years. Let's give the first award, of many, for CONSISTENCY. Rarely is there an off-night for the burrito-man-or-lady workin' the meat-zone (that's what I'm going to call the kitchen). Out of probably 50 burritos, I've encountered perhaps 2 that were disappointing (floppy, lacking in stabilizing rice). The rest have been THE BEST OF LOS ANGELES. Our second award will be for AFFORDABILITY. I get the veggie burrito (no lechuga) for 3 DOLLARS. 3 DOLLARS FOR A HUGE MEAL. It's beans, rice, pico de gallo, a bit of avocado, and cheese, all wrapped up in a perfect-textured tortilla, lightly grilled. Tortillas are one of the most important ingredients to a good burrito, often overlooked. El Indio NAILS IT, MAN. And them beans. They make me want to write letters to my family, telling them they've been replaced by hot, delicious beans. Our third award is for AVAILABILITY. 24 hours a day, every day. Right on the corner. There's always parking. The line is short and the cook is quick-as-F. Our fourth and final award (I'm running out of awards) is for THE SAUCE. Red. The red sauce is KING OF L.A. There is none better. I pride myself on having tried (and continuing to try) a wide swath of taquerias in my never-ending quest for perfection, and I can safely say that El Indio Azteca has hit upon perfection with their red sauce. Their green one is pretty great too, but it's a bit salty sometimes. I like spice, so know that before you go chuggin' these down, like a fool. I want to wrap this up (as tight and perfect as they wrap their burritos), so I'll just tell you it straight. This is the best burrito I've found in LA. I take all my friends here to test if they're really my friends or not. If they like it, I love them. If they don't, well, no one will find their body. read more

I've been here twice now, and I can't get over how good the food is. Even though all of the seating is outdoors, there is a sense of warmth to the atmosphere, strangely enough. When you walk up to the window to order, you're always greeted with a warm smile and a genuine appreciation for your business. As you order, no matter how bad your pronunciation is of the food, they don't seem to judge you (like some places do). I've had their Al Pastor and Carnitas Burritos, both were stellar. They include a chili sauce inside the burrito that separates their recipe from the rest out there. If you're not that much into spice and want to try it out without the risk of burning up too much, have them give you the sauce on the side so you can eat at your own pace. For the sauce lovers, order the sauce on the side and dip the burrito in it for extra saucy goodness. Their Nachos Especial is to die for. The cheese they use is, again, saucy, very flavorful, and has a very good texture to hit every last chip in the tray. The carnitas are plentifully scattered atop the chips to add an even more pleasurable crunching experience. Even though Maywood is considerably out of my way, this seems to be the one and only spot for good, honest Mexican food. I have been coming here for over a decade! I absolutely love this place! It is open 24 hours so it is perfect for those crazy weekends after the club. I have had their asada, cabeza, & lengua tacos and burritos. They have wet burritos in very spicy green sauce, they are good but too spicy for my liking. The asada nachos are ok. The nacho cheese is really watered down, but at 3am they may be perfect! Lol . . . My only complaint is that I do not like their cups anymore!!
