Dining with kids can be challenging, so it's always nice when restaurants and staff are accommodating. The staff at Sabor Mixteca went above and beyond that. They were super fast with their service, but also showed warmth and kindness the entire time that made the meal delightful. The decor in the restaurant is vibrant and fun. They also had a clean, well-kept bathroom. The food was great. Everything came out in a timely manner and was excellently flavored and balanced. You could tell that this wasn't just like your run-of-the-mill taco joint. The flavors had a depth (especially the guisado) that brought things up a notch. But, like I was saying - although the food was great and memorable, I was really appreciative of how awesome the staff was and would love visiting again if we're in the area. Would definitely recommend.

They were all sweet, kind, and happy to help. The kids got cute kids cups with silly straws. Chips and salsa were not included. The chips and salsa were the only things we weren't impressed with. Everything else was delicious. My shrimp tacos were full and had great flavor. They fell apart while eating them, maybe if they had less sauce or the tortilla was grilled a little more it would have held up but they were so good I didn't even mind it. Our kids and my partner loved all of their food as well.

I was introduced to Trippy Taco via a Yelp experience. Since I was happy with what I saw (or…read morerather, with what I ate), I've dropped by Trippy Tacos on a few occasions to satisfy taco cravings. Overall, I cannot complain about the food, quality, service and price. Tacos will typically run $3-$4, which is a bit standard for the area, and they are loaded with plenty of fixings. Also, Trippy has daily specials for certain items on the menu. For small place, the restaurant has a pretty extensive Tex-Mex menu, so I think everyone should find something that they'll like. Although the restaurant has some seating, this place is more of a take-out spot. One tip: I highly recommend ordering before arriving to Trippy Taco, so you can simply grab and go. Unfortunately, parking is a bit limited and tight (like most places in this area). While the food, service and prices are pretty good, I'll admit that I would not go too far out of my way to visit since there are no shortage of Tex-Mex spots in the area. But, it's a great spot to check out on your way from Point A to Point B. Usually, I visit on my way home from the gym (to undo the benefits of my workout).

They were better than I expected. All looks very appetizing and smell so good. It seems really homemade style, fresh ingredients and aromatic. The chicken empanadas are surprisingly huge and you got 2 pieces for $11, that is reasonable, for me. As well as Tacos cost just about $3-4 each, it is a soft Taco with corn tortilla and flavorful seasoned filling, plus green salsa - that's perfect combination. I have not much to say about service, as it was a take out by online order but it was smoothly pick-up, everything was ready and packed nicely when I was arrived. The restaurant is quite tiny and old building at the back, but there are plenty free parking available around. Mainly for take out order but I think you can dine-in too - there are some seating table inside and outside. The Trippy Taco menu seem variety and interesting. They have not only Taco, but also a lot selection of Burrito, Soup, Quesadillas, Sandwich. Nacho and Fries. Yes, don't judge a book by its cover before you explore it.

My husband ordered the pupusas and I ordered huevos rancheros. We also shared a corn tamale. Everything was delicious! The huevos rancheros came with fresh plátanos fritos and casamiento, which I enjoyed. The pupusas were cheesy and delicious. The tortillas that came with the huevos rancheros were freshly made--Salvadoran style in thickness! The corn tamale also tasted homemade, not frozen like Rio Grande brand (which is still great but this is 100% better). Thoroughly enjoyed my visit here, I will be back.

I added the empanada made from plantains. The order came with pickled peppers and onions, a spicy green sauce, and the birria dipping sauce. I enjoyed everything. The Birria tacos were huge! Some places I've been the 3 tacos are small and you feel like you could've eaten one more. I was full off the 1st one and saved the other 2 for later. The beef was tender and came in a fried double tortilla; not the best I've had but good. The beans and rice with the pico de gallo were good, although I prefer my beans whole. Now here's where things got freaky, the plantain was the size of a medium fist sprinkled with sugar, inside of it was this thick sweet white cream, wasn't expecting this. It was good, but weird because I couldn't figure out what I was eating exactly. It's not just plantain, it's a Salvadoran empanada, where the vanilla milk custard is placed in the center of the plantain, then rolled into a ball and fried till golden brown. If you have an appetite and want to try authentic Salvadoran cuisine. I highly recommend, there's a lot to choose from, and you will get plenty of food for your money.

I would describe them as a combination of classic and elevated Latin food. The vibe of the restaurant is very casual, but the presentation of many of the dishes takes it to another level. They also have a wide selection of beer and wine. I have had tacos, octopus, breakfast tacos, and tamales. Everything was flavorful and quite tasty. I will admit service was a little slow the last time I went, but given the weather and the fact that we weren't in a rush it wasn't a big deal. If you haven't been yet, you should go. The colorful presentation reminds me of Palette 22, and rumor has it they are expanding to the Ethiopian restaurant that closed next door. I hope that's true!

Could work on those fried plantains as they were a little soggy. The quinoa salad was good, a bigger portion would have been nice for the price paid and maybe if it would be easier to eat if served in a bowl. The chorizo sandwich was okay. Presentation and bread could be better. We left curious about their regular menu so we may give it a try some other time. Their staff were nice but not very knowledgeable about their menu items. They didn't really know how to answer my question about their vegan tres leches and told me it was not actually vegan after indicating it had condensed milk and heavy cream.
