Got the "bamba brisket Mac and queso quesadilla" (see photos) The peices of brisket are ok. There are little to no macaroni noodles. I can't taste the queso. This tastes like Chinese sweet and sour sauce. There was no mention of this sweet and sour sauce being in it on the menu. This is honestly one of if not the worst quesadilla I've ever had. I would rather have one from TacoBell. Some of the food I got was ok. I did like the "Lengua Taco" But the "bamba brisket Mac and queso quesadilla" was horrible, and it was the main thing I was getting. If you get the traditional tacos, decently priced. Favorite was definitely the pescado (recommend the fried fish dirty style) since it comes with a special sauce and cheese. The tacos were pretty meaty. It would be challenging to have a large group seated all together but for informal quick bites it's a great local choice. I added verde sauce to everything. As usual, needed to try a margarita! I will say that I wanted to take one star off regarding the mango mix, which was a bit thicker for my liking, the chaotic wait for Food, and the prices are just a little too high for me. However, that has not, and will not deter me from eating here! Everything we ordered was delicious! I am not a huge fries girly however my husband is and we got it... And it was very flavor forward! I wanted to try the quesadilla and let me tell you... It was delicious! I could eat four orders of those lol this is a fun place to stop and grab a quick bite if you are wanting something casual for dinner. The meats are tasty but the food relies a lot on the sauces to lift up the flavors. For what you are getting the prices aren't exactly cheap. I liked the option of getting a "clean" version of tacos or the cup 'o meat where you get a cabbage cup instead of the tortillas. The tortillas are delicious as they are heavy on cornmeal. I only got four very small cabbage cups though and would have liked to get four more. I did not care for the ceviche with coconut cream. I like coconut and ceviche but could not appreciate the flavors when mixed together. The food was okay but felt heavy. Service was friendly and the ambiance is super casual, large and airy. These tacos were some of the best I've had! I was really impressed by the flavor. I got the Urban Camarón, Dirty Style Camarón, Dirty Style Crispy Pescado, and a Chocolate Chip Churro Crunch Cookie. I'm not sure which was my favorite taco because they were all so good- but I definitely liked the dirty style. My food was ready within 10 minutes. I heard a lot of hype about taco Bamba and had to check it out .Boy was I disappointed. We ordered the brisket mac & cheese, enchilada, three tacos: , beef, brisket, and chicken and chips and queso. The meat is not edible. It was so fatty. The brisket was awful grizzle. There was too much sauce on the enchilada and the small tacos were just poor quality meat. The chips were stale. I had to ask for a second bag. The second bag was stale, so the manager somewhere went in the back and brought out a fresh bag of chips. They stale chips were soft w oils covering the brown paper bag that sat under the counter near the front probably for hours. The queso was very spicy. Now positive aspect are easy parking, indoor seating and a fun salsa bar. definitely do not have to go back and would a Manager contacted me for constructive feedback. there are far better places nearby to spend $34 on a small portion of food. read more

Tuesday 1/7/2025 I've known about this spot for a minute, but I finally decided to try it today. I made a takeout order via website and got the bacon-egg-cheese empanada $4, carne asada taco $4, barbacoa taco $4, torta bamba $19, and the birria quesadilla. - When it comes to the empanada, it was solid and the sauce was good, but there wasn't enough bacon in it, especially for the $4 price tag you pay. - The carne asada was solid, and better than the barbacoa, but I've had better. - The barbacoa taco was disappointing and below average, as the taste and flavor were not there. - The torta bamba was MASSIVE, but I should've known that it would've been too much going on as the wide array of different tastes and flavors wasn't very enjoyable for me. - The birria quesadilla was decent and the most enjoyable item I had. - Also, the taco sauces are all solid, with the green sauce being my favorite. I am fanatical about this place. My first Taco Bamba experience was in Vienna, and I've been to most of their other locations now. When this one opened in Gaithersburg, it became the closest location to where I am and I went pretty much immediately. I've been back any number of times now; it's a thirty minute drive for me so I can't go all the time but if it was closer, I would. The price is about right for what you're getting. The ambiance is just okay, it's not stellar but it's not trying to be. Unpretentious, a little loud. You're here to eat, not to have a laidback conversation-heavy dining experience. THE TACOS. The traditional tacos are good, but the special tacos are where they really shine in my opinion. Standout recommendations at this location are the birria taco "dirty style", the Ma Cho, and the McLovin It. The salsa bar is also excellent, I love the focus on tomatillos in a lot of the salsas. Two for a smaller appetite or three for a bigger stomach is about right. I just love this place. read more

Love Taco Bamba and the different varieties of tacos they sell. We got their name sake tacos and also Al pastor. The Taco Bamba tacos are solid but a lil too oily and spicy for me. I enjoyed the Al pastor (not pictured) more since it was sweeter and the flavor was great. My pickup was ready in 15 mins and there's plenty of parking outside. The inside is nicely decorated too. WORST SERVICE EVER. Ordered one simple breakfast dish online. Order went in at 11:09 AM. Receipt said it will be ready for pick up at 11:16 AM. Walked in at about 1115 and inquired about the food and let them know I was there. Gentleman behind the counter said it would be out soon. I sat down and waited. Almost 20 minutes later, I went up to Counter to see what was going on and taking so long. i'm standing at the front staring at the two girls going on and on with their conversations not giving a crap about the customer. just kept glancing at me and ignoring me. Never ask "has anyone helped you, can I help you with anything"? NOTHING! I asked, I'm waiting for my order is it ready yet? She turns around and looks at the bag on the counter that's been sitting there for 20 minutes. Smiling Big, she grabs the bag and hand it to me practically throwing it at me and it goes right back to her conversation w coworker. No "I'm sorry about that", no nothing again. The tacos are average and the tortillas weren't warmed up enough so that they were tough to eat. But my main issue is the kitchen crew. They were dancing, joking, hugging and socializing instead of focusing on preparing the food, therefore my order of 6 tacos took 30 minutes and was missing a taco. The music was so loud that it was hard to have a conversation; maybe that was the reason the kitchen crew felt like partying rather than working on the orders. Man - have the service really gone down hill! I came here Tuesday night and called in an order for just 2 tacos. The cashier taking the call had a hard time understanding my order and had to ask multiple times what I was ordering. It seemed more like he didn't pay attention and was distracted by something else. I came to pickup my order and showed my government ID for bogo gov shutdown deal and he immediately said he couldn't apply it, while last week at this same location they were able to do the discount with a call in order. He then asked the manager to assist and she said it couldn't be done either. During the whole time they seemed to be more interested in closing the store and socializing with each other than selling me tacos. I left and went to their Rockville location where they applied the discount with no issues. This is not the first time I have had issues with this location, in prior visits they have messed up orders with wrong items. While I have never had such issues at their Rockville location. read more

Taco Bamba has many options including vegetarian options for you VegHeads! I ordered the Spicy Shroom, Sweet Poutine tacos, Birria and the Rice & Beans. The tacos had a great mixed of stuff inside however there was virtually no flavor. I had to add some sauce to give it flavor which I found interesting. Ilthe Rice & Beans side had the most flavoring! One of my absolute favorite spots for good chips and salsa. Everything here is super tasty and you can't go wrong. I'm a creature of habit and often continue to order the same dishes. I can attest that the Pack the Bowl with grilled chicken is the best. It's actually two meals packed into the bowl. Also suggest getting a side of chips to enjoy their numerous options of salsa at the bar. You really can't go wrong with Taco Bamba. One of my favorite places to visit for a quick and delicious meal. So today we got here around their opening time, 11:00am, and tried their Bacon Egg and Cheese (B.E.C) empanada, chilaquiles, and the OG Breakfast taco. All plates were finished, everything was fresh and well made, super delicious breakfast! We sat at the bar where I was attended to constantly by bartender, Kathy, who made me an OG Mimosa. She made it very quickly and it was spot on! While taking care of us, she was constantly helping the cashiers and kitchen, multi-tasking and being a great team player! First visit to this or ANY Taco Bamba although I have wanted to visit since hearing the story of the original location--there has simply not been one convenient to me as I live in Prince William County VA and le boyfriend lives in Montgomery County, MD....this changed in the last year and we finally decided to try. Boyfriend got three traditional tacos, al pastor, birria and pescado. His father got two chicken tinga tacos. Little sister had the chicken arabe quesadilla and I got Huevos Rancheros, add Barbacoa meat and Mexican Street Corn. We were each pleased with our selections, he and I even tried a bit of each other's. My over easy eggs were perfect, the fried tortillas were wonderful. Next time I might just forgo the Barbacoa meat with the egg dish as it kind of overpowered it, but I really wanted to try both. Sauces were all very tasty, my favorite was the fresh pico. We will absolutely order again, he wants to try more tacos and I'm dying to try the tortas and the brisket Mac & cheese quesadilla :D read more

The Spicy Shroom taco is perhaps the best menu item ever devised. It has just the right balance between spicy and sweet, with just enough acid noted to keep everything interesting. It's my favorite item at this funky DC area chain. The Gaithersburg outpost, boasts the same lively vibe, hip decor and courteous service as the other locations. NB: menu items do vary a bit from location to location. I was a bit miffed that the Turkish Wrestler taco was not available at this location, but I got over it. Plenty of other good items to choose from including: The Grizzly Man, grilled salmon taco with a spicy sauce, the Juju Da Burger (a slider with all the trimmings on a tortilla), and the Arabe ( grilled chicken on pita bread with a spicy sauce). All tasty nothing ordinary. The outdoor seating was pleasant in the cool summer evening. FYI, some of the tables were wobbly, so choose yours carefully. Service was friendly and efficient. I've been here a couple times and I'm a fan. I tried the OG breakfast taco today and it was really good with egg and chorizo. The birria taco was packed with lamb and while I wish there wa some consume to dip with, it was really good even without it. The carne asado taco is always good too. Im working at NIST this week and saw this place from the road when driving to the site on day one. The big red sight is a beacon of deliciousness!!! This place is cool! The atmosphere is perfect for a lunch getaway or even dinner and drinks with your coworkers. The staff are excellent and friendly with the great ability to guide you through the extensive menu. The menu is packed with awesome culture mixed delectable dishes. I had the chicken taco, I think it was called Rocco Pollo and it was great but could have use some sauce that I chose not to add so I could take in the style. The other taco was the Ma Cho which was an Asian marinade with Korean Gojujon a magnificent saffron rice, and pickled onions plus some jalapeños on top. This was one of the best fusion tacos I've ever had in my life!!! My coworker had a brisket and mac n cheese quesadilla that really looked good. I think Taco Bamba makes solid food that anybody with a discerning taste can enjoy. I've only dined in twice (different locations) and both times I had a torta, the Cubana and Lopez. Both were a delicious mess and they didn't skimp on the meats and fixings. You'll need a lot of napkins. In my case, also a knife and fork. No complaints with this location's operation. Ordering and picking up at the counter were both easy. The staff were friendly enough. They have plenty of tables inside and outside. Looking forward to trying out other menu items. read more

Finally a good taco place in Gburg that really competes with Taco Bar and Ixtapalapa Taqueria for best tacos in Gburg. What excites me are the bold flavors of their tacos! You can order just the protein or choose from their traditional menu or from their tacos nuestros menu. Their taco Bamba, even the salmon taco, and the Korean taco just full of flavor and heat. Tastes great and very reasonably priced. Their plain carne asada taco was very good and I added their mild salsa to it. Very pleasantly surprised! Both times I went after 12pm and were lucky enough to get a table. In the back are the fountain soda machine (Coke!) and salsa bar. I'm not into spicy foods anymore and their mild salsa was so good! Place has a lot of windows and let's in a lot of light and even has a bar, with its own bar service to order food and drinks (full bar) and has happy hour from 3-5? With $5 drink specials. We arrived in a Thursday night shortly after their grand opening. The line was quite long, but nothing that seemed unreasonable. The food took about 10 and ordering itself took 10-15 minutes due to the size of the line. I order the Jeffery and it came out piping hot and was flavorful. I like this taco bambo and will be back. It's close to home and good food. I will say inside was freezing. It was extremely cold outside, but it was very cold inside too. First I mm excited that this one opened up as its closer to where I live and I don't need to go to Rockville to get my Taco Bamba fix. The food is always good when I have been. I enjoy and recommend the tacos dirty style. I typically try to get at least one taco dirty style. My main con about this location is they have only had one register opened. This is confusing to me as I go during lunch time which is peak hours. I have even been there once when two people were manning one register which I don't think is efficient.
