This particular TB has all the right things going for it: perfect execution of the menu items, absolutely perfect staff, particularly Mark, and great location near Awendaw headed out of Mount Pleasant in the parking lot of the new Lowes home improvement center. First of all, some TB locations seem to be on remote control, albeit they try to serve the food as listed on the menu but it is often touch and go as far as consistency goes. Not here, they have the items down to a science! Best people always makes for a good experience, but great people can turn an everyday experience into a perfect one. That is the case here, and particularly Mark is a class A employee, which is unusual for a TB. How many fast food places do you walk in and they know your name and in general what you want? Not often, but here that is true. TB had decended into the malaise of mediocrity a few years ago, but in general they have come back with a vengeance. Basic items are good, more complex items are better and you can customize them into perfection. Try adding guacamole to your basic crunchy taco: awesome, and I don't use that description often. read more

this Taco Bell is in a weird location at the back of a Lowe's parking lot . I'm a fan of the cheesy bean and rice burrito. I've tried them all over the country, and at this location South Carolina being a expensive state, they're $2. While they had plenty of beans, there was virtually no cheese in this one and that really did not satisfy the palate. so for skimping on the cheese I've got to give him two stars. Updated 7/13/23 Lobby is never open anymore and they can't blame personnel because they have enough people working. They just don't want to open the lobby. Doors unlocked and no sign on the door but as soon as you open the door they tell you it's drive through only. This Taco Bell is a health risk with flagrant disregard for food safety. Today is the second time we've gotten an order of food that is obviously cooked in rancid fryer oil. The first time we called the store immediately, left voicemails, no response. We avoided this location for months. Received a coupon from corporate (months later) after the rancid oil incident -- one free item for a ruined $25 order, what a joke. We stupidly came back to this location since it was closest to us. Oh the irony -- all our food was AGAIN cooked with rancid oil. It's not a nuanced thing -- the fried food ALL tastes horrific, burned, chemical-ish. Another $25 wasted. Are you kidding me? The only reason I took one star was a slight miscommunication. My husband wanted his combo with hard shell and I wanted mine with soft shell. He gave all of them to us in soft shell and forgot the sauces, but what was so incredibly good customer service was the manger offered us a sample of their new dessert, which was tasty. (9/28/2019) was on a road trip a needed something to tide us over until our destination. Hard to see the restaurant from the road, the sign says its next to Lowe's. Plenty of parking, absolutely no one was there. Cashier had trouble deciphering our order, it was incomplete when we got to the window. Had to correct it there. No one else was in line, so no hold up, but also meant things were rushed and cold (like not thoroughly heated). The soft taco flour tortillas were stone cold a somewhat stale. Possibly low turnover here. They discontinued my go-to Meximelts, will have to make some better choices next time. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I waited 45 minutes for my food today. At a Taco Bell. That is longer than most sit down restaurants. The service was horrible. The manager came out and claimed it took time because they weren't McDonald's. No you're Taco Bell. Speed of service should 100% not be at 45 minutes. It seemed like no one knew what they were doing. They were chatting and laughing in the back but no food was coming out to the dining room. I saw a dozen people demand a refund because it took so long for food to come out. They need to get someone in the fox management and staffing issues. I can't imagine they are making money. They lost so many sales in the hour I sat in the dining room. Although I haven't dined at TB for a while, we just moved here and it was near to our new home. We had some queries about the new menu items, and the counter person (Mark) was VERY helpful in helping us with our selections. Service was fast, dining room / restroom was spotless and food was GREAT! We happen to sit next to an employee who was on his break, and since it was our first day in the area we asked questions about the Mt. Pleasant area. I've never felt the need to ever leave a yelp review until today. I am absolutely sick and tired of this Taco Bell closest to my house. I don't go often, but when I do it's always the same deal. I know not getting what you ordered is part of the Experience at Taco Bell, but this one takes pride in it. Ordered a steak power bowl through the drive thru and received chicken instead, also a steak quesadilla and received a Burrito instead. Gave them another chance on another day and decided to order on the app to alleviate a step and not have to deal with someone fat fingering an item. I am so glad someone decided to open another a TB franchise in MT. Pleasant. And on this side of town! I've had zero issues with this location and is one of my favorites to come to. Staff is friendly and I've never had an issue with an order. Some people don't understand that it takes a new business or franchise (location), whatever you want to call it, a little bit to train their staff correctly and instill their culture in their employees. I've arrived multiple times an hour or even two before they close and they'd say they aren't taking orders or are out of food(I would understand once or twice but this happens a lot) and it's also the longest wait time ever on the off chance they actually have food any time after 6 pm. Do not go if you care about your stomach. Yes you will still be living for 1-2 months after your stomach gets obliterated but don't let Taco Bell be what makes you die young. Their food already has a bad reputation, but this had a twist. Their food actually tastes like bitter chemicals. The cinnamon twists are notorious for this, since I browsed online and found multiple cases over the years. The restaurants claim it's "old oil", but this has got to be cap because of the frequency of the incidents and taste. Go to Chernobyl instead if you want a taste of radioactivity. read more

this is now the 4th time this has happened to me. Website and app says they are open by 9. I came by and they said they would be opening at 10. so i drove 5 minutes home and came back at 10:15. When I arrived there were cars in the drive-thru and they denied every single customer saying that their machines are not on yet still, plus with it being 10 everyone wanted breakfast and they said they were not serving breakfast anymore; even though it is on the menu above their heads and in the drive thru. I can get that maybe breakfast is not available but to say for the 4th time in a matter of a couple of months that their machines are not on, is concerning. Plus the fact that they are pushing customers out of the door with no food and frustration. This location should either be closed permanently or hire a complete new staff because every time I try this location they are either closed early (and completely ignore you when it's not even close to the closing time), or they mess up your order entirely. I would then have to visit the location down the street where they told me they get a lot of customers coming from the other location because they will lock the doors and shut down the drive through at 6 PM.
