My first time visiting this spot and it was not a disappointment. The staff were very friendly and our waitress was great! She was very attentive and gave us great service. The food was delicious! I recommended the street corn, it is off the cob which was a plus. I asked for a mocktail and they gave me their signature mocktail. There was live music outside on the patio. There was indoor seating available at a table or at the bar as well as outdoor patio seating. There were accessible restrooms available as well as on site parking with handicap parking available.

Went to grab food late Friday with my son and we sat on the patio! It was wonderful. There was live music and the patio lights were on to create a beautiful space. The restaurant is very clean and we had excellent service. My son did a cheese quesadilla and tater tots with cheese over them. The queso and chips is fantastic. Our friends got the steak nachos. I got a steak quesadilla. My husband got three tacos, fried chicken, Peruvian shrimp, and bbq brisket. He loved them all! We also ordered house margs for happy hour

The service during the day is good if you can find someone. On this visit the food was microwaved with spatters all over the plate and crusty red sauce from the microwave. Not to mention it took 20 minutes to get the order. The food was tasteless microwave burnt and something my 4 year old can microwave an enchilada purchased from the circle K. I have had this dish multiple times and this was not the food I have received in my past visits. Whoever prepared this should be fired today. They don't care about your brand or your reputation. Do better.

You are a Mexican restaurant and you don't offer chips and salsa for the table gratis - It makes me question the experience and be more critical. I was recently in Mexico City where they took pride in the crafted salsas and chips offered. It is also a standard. I'll stop being fixated on this. The service was fine, but nothing special. Eager at first to take our order while our two couples looked at the menu. After we were served our meals, we didn't really see him until the bill, and we would have had more drinks. We all had different tacos for dinner. I search the world for great tacos with quests that have taken me across Texas, California and Mexico. The tacos were very flavorful with nicely crafted sauces. The fish tacos with roasted poblano tartar sauce was very well done. The blackened shrimp tacos with cotija cheese, pico de gallo, and lime crema was good, but the shrimp weren't blackened and only 3 shrimp left me wanting more. Cantina left me wanting more. The value component is the challenge - $5.50 for one taco is more than you pay in many places (not comparing to a very average) for a small portion. I don't know if I would rush back to Cantina 76.

We had been to Cantina 76 a few times, and I would say that this year was a let down. Although the staff were great and friendly, the food was different from our past experiences. The appetizer of the salsa, queso, and guacamole were great to start. We had no complaints on our cocktails, which tasted really good, but our tacos weren't what we expected them to be. We've always tried to get various ones, and they're okay for the price. I liked the chicken teriyaki, a little skimp on the chicken that was on it, and the fish taco came with jalapeños that gave it a good kick. The chicken ones were good as well, but the brisket was disappointingly dry. The enchiladas were the same; they were covered in good queso, but the chicken filling was dry. We expected more of the surf'n'turf taco, but it was too salty for our taste. We really expected more of Cantina and hope they improve in the future.

I visited for a quick lunch break with a friend while out Christmas shopping. For a Friday afternoon, it wasn't busy and we were seated promptly. There was plenty on the menu to choose from. We started with the Trio Sampler which included guac, salsa, and queso. Each of them were tasty. For our main dish, we ordered tacos and chicken tortilla soup because it was one of the coldest day of the year. The tacos are reasonably priced and you can mix and match as you choose. The soup was perfect for the day and warmed us up inside. We left full and satisfied. The place is very large and roomy. They have a nice size bar area and an equally large patio area, which I'm sure is hopping during the warmer months. The hostess, waitress, and manager were all very nice and attentive. They came over often to check on us and made sure we had what we needed. Parking is in the rear and it is plentiful. I'm looking forward to dining here again in the near future.

Stopped in for a quick bite. We were going to just get an app but since we decided to get chips and salsa, we changed our mind and got tacos. I got the bbq pulled pork which had a sweet chipotle type bbq. The flavors were great and the pico was an amazing touch. However the surf and turf taco was awesome. The shrimp was coated in a sweet chili sauce and the flavors all blended perfectly. I would get again in a second. Both myself and my sister loved the strawberry basil margarita. It was very refreshing. There was only one other table there besides us. Our server was attentive and sweet. She also offered many suggestions. Can't wait to go back and try more options. They also have a lot for gluten free folks and it's all appropriately labeled.

We ended up getting a couple dozen oysters, smoked fish dip and crispy tuna rice. Oysters were fresh and nicely chilled, tuna rice was well seasoned and the fish dip was ok, didn't have any smoky flavor or element to it and lacked in flavor. We ended up moving back down with our friends who had dogs so they ordered from the regular menu. The server was very accommodating and friendly. My friend got the burnt ends Mac n cheese and that was delicious! The place itself was huge and I could see it being a great spot for private events. Overall we had a good time.

If I wasn't starving and in a time crunch I would have sent it back. Overall I think The Shelter is not what it used to be and I won't be going back. It used to be a fun spot with pretty decent bar food but it fell flat today. Which I possibly could have excused if it had been busy but it wasn't it was dead. I was a little worried when the website said call ahead seating was on hold thinking they would be slammed, but forged onward!' It was Sunday afternoon. I have read about nightmare parking but did not experience that at all. Zoomed right in. Yes, it was eleven bucks. I don't mind paying and refuse to get myself worked up over it. Ask for an outside table and no sooner did we sit down, the dolphins showed up!!! I consider myself an expert on dolphin spotting and had to show the table of 5 college age young ladies where they were located. They loved them as well. Who knew they would be so active in the middle of a busy waterway? As a former boat owner, I love watching those huge honkin' boats parallel park in between the baby ones. I do not have that skill , but it's entertaining to watch. Tyler was our server and was nice and attentive. Drinks were cold and quite good. I ordered a house Chardonnay and it was Cambria. Not crazy expensive either! Had shrimp tacos and steamed shrimp. So many steamed ones that I had a full meal the next day. I look forward to trying many more dishes. What I enjoyed the most was being part of a fun atmosphere in a fun place. Not a sad person in the place. That's always my attitude near any body of water. We had to try the Apple Pie shots since everyone seems to talk about them. This is way more complex than some apple flavor liquor. The ingredients take some prep work, and the result is something that literally tastes like apple pie. If they bottled this, I would definitely buy it. They have two specialty drinks, the Freshy and the Orange Crush, both of which are made with fresh squeezed juice squeezed right when you order. I had the Freshy which is orange or grapefruit juice with your favorite liquor. I chose grapefruit with vodka and even though I am not a huge fan of grapefruit the freshness and tartness of the drink made it quite enjoyable. My wife had the Orange Crush with Deep Eddy's O.J vodka, Triple Sec, Sprite and some of that fresh squeezed orange juice. It was nice and sweet which was good since we were ordering a lot of savory options. The Potato Skins arrived first and they were truly impressive. Good sized skins with the perfect amount of potato, not too thick or too dry and definitely homemade. They had mixed cheese, bacon and green onions served with sour cream also loaded with green onions. As far as all the potato skins I have had these were a standout. Next came the onion rings with an absolute massive serving for just eight dollars. You could tell they were homemade and served with a chili garlic sauce. The best part was the batter coating which was crispy yet didn't fall off when bent or bitten. They reheated nicely in the air fryer. Next, we tried the Toasted Raviolis which were filled with Italian sausage and served with a house made marinara. They were nice and crispy, but the true star was the marinara sauce which was thick and chunky with parmesan mixed all throughout. I wish they had more dishes that used this sauce as it was excellent. On the advice of some regulars, I tried the chicken fingers which were all breast meat, dill brined and hand battered. It was good advice since the chicken was juicy and tender with a flavorful coating. Sometimes it pays to ask. My wife ordered the thing they are known for their Philly Cheesesteak. She decided on double meat, and they were super generous to the point she looked at me and said, "I don't know how I am going to finish this!". This cheesesteak gets nominate for a lot of best of lists and I could see why. I liked that the cheese was mixed in with the meat and not just poured on top. She enjoyed it but said next time she will order it as is. This is a great place to hang out and relax and maybe catch a band or some bluegrass and enjoy a great meal!
