If I had any complaints, it would be the inconsistent quality of the ketchup. There were 7 of us at our table and we ran out of ketchup. We ended up using the ketchup bottles from a few tables around us and some of them were just downright foul tasting. I'm not sure what the issue is here, but definitely room for improvement. We brought a small bag of McDonald's in with us and after we'd been seated the manager stormed up to our table saying "we're a restaurant. You can't have outside food. You need to leave." In shock but understanding we said "we understand but our son only eats McNuggets and we're going to order." She angrily says "you need to leave. Go eat in your car". All 4 adults stood there dumbfounded and said "I'm sorry?" And again she barks "I'm not asking. I'm telling. You have to leave". We had every intention of ordering food and drinks and only needed our son to eat something. The best pulled pork sandwich in downtown Menomonie?! The sauce sounds like it would be weird because there is mustard in it but I can confirm that it is delicious and really makes the sandwich. Apart from the atmosphere, food and staff there are really good drink specials at The Abbey as well! Every day there is a near unbearable special. When school is in session these deals are definitely taken advantage of by the Stout students. No flashing lights, no overly loud music and no amateur DJ screaming at the top of their lungs like other bars in Menomonie.
