let me just start with the noise level. I can't believe how utterly unbearable my experience was thanks to the screeching voice of one particular woman in charge. The noise was excruciating--imagine a thousand chalkboards being scraped simultaneously. Her voice pierced through every moment, making it impossible to focus or have a conversation. It wasn't just loud; it was painfully grating and relentless. I can't believe how appalling my experience was at this restaurant. The place was a complete dump--tables were sticky, floors were filthy, and the restrooms were beyond gross. To top it off, the boss was obnoxiously loud and seemed to take pleasure in being rude. The food is always good and consistent. one of the few fast food places in town that gets my order correct! I usually use the drive through here 2-3 times per month at lunch and it usually is quick service. Staff is always helpful and friendly. read more

I've stopped at this Taco John's numerous times when passing through due to the convenient location (halfway point). It's normally what you'd expect from a Taco John's...average food, average service, average cleanliness, but this last visit was brutal. I walked in during off-peak hours to almost every table still dirty from previous people and the hot sauce bar was completely empty while at the same time seeing an army of employees just hanging out behind the counter, talking to each other or texting on their phones, paying no regard to the state of the lobby area. Upon arriving, my girlfriend needed to use the restroom and returned to note to the cashier that there was no toilet tissue in the women's restroom. So she held it until we finished our meal (typical quality...average, but expected) which was around 30 minutes later.... still no toilet tissue to be found. I can understand prioritizing and letting certain areas get dirty when it's rush hour and all hands on deck, but it's frustrating to see so many employees standing around doing nothing while there is so much that could be done. read more

I have never eaten at a Taco John's before since the chain is not in my hometown. I saw a commercial for TJ and decided to try it. Justin, the manager, took my order and was helpful. As a business traveler, I only have an Amex card for travel and food expenses and did not have enough cash to cover the cost of my order. Justin offered to cover the cost of my meal. I really appreciate this. The street tacos were excellent. I liked the salsa bar also. I will definitely be visiting this TJ when I'm in the area again, but I'll have cash or a Visa. I love coming here whenever i am in Menomonie. It's clean and the food is great! There is an exceptional worker named Pat that works here. He's one of the best restaurant workers ive ever seen, and ive been in the business over 16 yrs. He's friendly, upbeat, says 'Hello' and 'Goodbye', always finds something to do/clean and is just an all around good person. I truly believe the staff makes the business! This place has been average at its best, but when it sucks it really sucks. Last time there I had potato oles so over cooked that the crumbled when you squeezed them (wish I would have taken a picture to post). My seven year old could not squeeze them in her fingers at all. I took them back and got an order of the same thing back which made their way to the trash. If you are driving through stop at any of the TJ's in Eau Claire. For a fast food place, service was polite and very fast. As soon as we drove up, they let us know it would be a minute. They quickly returned to take the order and we were through and paid within 3 minutes. Food was good and hot, but not the best burrito ever. But what can you expect?
