WOW!!! Um, did I just stumble on the best Taco Bell in the lower 48? Just came through Hays while on our cross country road trip through the great state of Kansas and was desperately needing to "live más". I heard the church bells ringing and whipped it in the lot. The service was QWIK and the food SLAPPED. My wife and I got Baja BLASTED!!! Dining room was clean and modern and the restroom was spotless. Unflushed toilet but might have been Mountain Dew. Went through the drive-through they acted like they couldn't add steak to a Cantina chicken. I don't like chicken I'd rather have a steak. The assistant general manager who was working last night (8/28/25) let my friend order at the counter. but me and my other friend were not allowed to order due to it being 10pm or lobby closing time (we all drove in the same car). he was very rude to his staff and customers because we happen to be in the lobby when it closed. We were gonna go get in the drive through line but he had locked the door locking us all in. it took about 10-15 min for someone to come let us out. I don't know if he was upset as at his staff, but his customers paid for it. read more

Very disappointed in this Taco Bell last night. I know it's a Taco Bell, and I fully understand the I should not have high expectations. But the attitude, and the swearing from the people making our food last night was atrocious, even with expectations set low. We went to taco bell last night and put in a large order for our large family. As soon as the order went back to the people making them we heard a loud "What the F*#k!?" come from the back. And the swearing and complaining continued through the entire process of making the food. And when we go the food it looked like they had just thrown all the ingredients at a wrapper and wrapped it up. I get that this is taco bell, so I'm not expecting the world. But also, this is taco bell. At dinner time. If you're going to throw a fit about us ordering food for dinner... At DINNER time, why are you even doing this? I'm sure they don't pay the people their enough for me to throw a fit about all of this in the middle of the store. So I didn't. Even if you don't close the Rail & sleep it off in the car, this is the best breakfast in town. Crunchwraps are always great: fresh, tasty, and well made. Tried the breakfast burrito and it was excellent. I always rave about their coffee, do no surprise there. This is one of the hidden gems in Hays. read more

If I could give this place negative stars, I would. Stood in line for 10+ min in 40mph wind at 40 degrees to be told they don't do walk ups. We're in a 45 foot camper and their lobby is closed. Thanks for the sign saying you don't do walk ups. Every other Taco Bell across the nation does. A sign would have at least let me know so I didn't stand in a line of 15 cars. Also, they're incredibly slow. For only having the drove thru open, y'all are slower than molasses. read more

I don't care for bad reviews but this I'd stay away from. Kitchen was not clean. Line of people waiting to fix their orders was long. Even one of the help told his friend a customer to please " check your order dude". Told my daughter the crispy taco shells were wheat free. She got sick. The help was very kind. I blame management. I looked at previous review and thought oh well over a year ago. And sure the fix had been put in. Wrong. Please stay away. Too many choices no matter how fast you want your food. Forgot my drink. I got a taco with only lettuce and cheese when I had ordered it with meat.I also ordered quesadillas which had very little meat and cheese I pretty much ate just a tortilla. We went in were greeted right away but a very nice man( has studded earings can't remember his name) so props to him, fast service and the place was very clean. This is the only Taco Bell in Hays, and is very poorly managed. I actually once went through their drive-thru late at night and had my toy poodle in the car. The workers actually asked me to pass it into the restaurant through the drive-thru window (which I did, and then they passed her around for the other workers to look at). Then they handed us our food, along with the dog. Yeah, pretty gross. read more
