Soft Taco
Edward P.

The food is Taco Bell so I don't expect much which is great because I didn't get much. It's good for when you're hungry not when you're trying to enjoy your meal.

Taco Hell.
Fox E.

When I'm here, it's more like Tanktop Bell. This is a shiny new modern type of Taco Bell, way up in Cypress on the highway to the outlet mall LOL. I mean, that's what most of us Houstonians know 290 as amirite. (Or to Austin or College Station if you prefer.) But let's face it. To the outlet mall. Their ground beef makes me run to the bathroom and I can't stand the food. Along with Wendy's it's probably the worst chain. But my girl or one of my girls I should say - has a thing for Taco Bell so I stopped here for her. I do occasionally if I'm going to the outlet mall with her. What can I say. Cute people have bad taste.

Supposedly a chalupa with beef
Deb K.

My roommate went through the drive through and ordered me 2 beef chalupas. When he got home, I had two beef (using a microscope you can actually see all the beef. It's sticking out the ends, even less under the lettuce) soft tacos. I looked at the menu before he left and the picture shown on their website looked a whole lot different from what I got. Why the f I got a soft taco is beyond me. VERY DISAPPOINTED AND HUNGRY. I HATE SOFT TACOS which is why I ordered a chalupa. My roommate got my meal which I couldn't eat.

This the Mountain Dew Baja Blast Freeze
Luke O.

You don't even need to go here for the food if you don't want to which I think the food is great but you really only need that 1$ Baja blast slush from 2-5 Happy Hour. It is literally the best drink on the planet. I don't even know what flavor it really is but it's just so good. So even if you don't like tacobell or food like this just come for the Baja blast, it'll change your life.

Horrible customer service. Mr. Martinez must hate his job. Close earlier than the time prescribed and employees have bad attitudes.

We ordered the cabeza, lengua, tripa and asada!! Also to go desserts, flan and Carlota... Will post pics Let me tell you, the tacos are big so the price is acceptable, lots of meat and the sides of onions, nopales and frijoles charros were bomb!! I didn't take pics of food, I totally by passed it because I was starving but next time?!! I will Come check this place out!!!

I have been searching for a new Mexican / Taco spot for quite some time ever since our previous…read morerestaurant changed their name and lowered their quality. My wife and I just want good quality and value with some sincere & kind service; that's all. Nothing fancy and special treatment necessary, just good old fashioned hospitality and good food. We believe we have found it this Sunday afternoon! We found them on the reviews and it looked promising so we decided to give them a try. The moment we walked in, we could tell Taco El Patron was different. The restaurant was bright, clean and very inviting with their tastefully decorated walls to their comfortable seating & table arrangement. We were greeted by a very pleasant waitress named Ashley and she and Veronica made us feel at home from the time we let them know it was our first visit to the time we left feeling high satisfied by the awesome food and first-class service. The menu was simple but gave diners many different ways to customize their food - that was a big deal to us. The chips and chicharron were delightful with their amazing bottles of superb salsas! My wife went with the asada (steak) and I couldn't decide so I asked Ashley to bring me ALL six of the selections from the special tacos section and that's what she did with a giggle saying no one has ordered all them, so they even took a photo of that massive plate of tacos and all the tasty sides! I felt like I hit the taco lottery when the platter came out and because the service was just as amazing and outstanding as the food. I had a wonderful time trying each one of the expertly crafted tacos and was so impressed with each and every bite. The prices are fair & reasonable and that's honestly a bonus since it's hard to find value for your hard earned money these days. My wife and I felt like our money was well spent and our patronage was very much appreciated. With that being said, you and your family should not waste anymore time with other trendy restaurants (you know who they are) and come to Tacos El Patron where you will hit the taco lottery like I did with amazing generous homemade style food served by a staff that treats you like family. Great Job, Ashley, Veronica and the entire kitchen crew at our new favorite taco restaurant! Check them out and tell them David & Amy sent you.

Definitely a taste of home outside of San Diego and Tijuana. Finding authentic TJ flavor in Texas (not Tex-Mex) was a welcome surprise! Our carne asada was grilled al carbón and you could taste the char! Juicy carne full of flavor, thin but strong and tasty tortillas (they really held everything together well), perfect chunky guac (not too fancy or full of fillers--IYKYK), and a variety of delicious salsas and hot sauces! An added bonus was the complimentary chicharrones! I'll take those over tortilla chips any day! The dining room isn't very big, but it's clean and has good a/c....there's an outdoor patio as well. Service was fast and friendly. Tacos and burritos were hefty and full of flavor. Ample parking. So glad that my family from San Diego (who I know get real Mexican taco shop cravings) can get a taste of home right in their Houston backyard!

Everything was so delicious my 'Imma just try it' went straight out the window! I had a fajita torta, and for take out delivery, it handled the ride pretty well. It was packed well and STUFFED. I get picky about my food getting soggy or a little too wet (either from lettuce or tomato) but the bread still had bite to it and everything altogether was tasty. Then I ordered fajita tacos (had a huge craving for them all week). And they had onion, cilantro, and limes included to drizzle and it was so good. I didn't even remember to take a picture I just gobbled it all up. The food was DELICIOUS! And their bean soup was so good. I don't usually order bean soup because I enjoy my refried beans but I was beyond surprised that they were so tasty. I ate it all up and drank the broth too!
