There were also plenty of large chunks of tripe. Depending on how you like your menudo, that could be a positive or negative. Personally, I prefer my tripe cut into smaller pieces. Overall, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend Burrito Lalo to anyone looking for a good bowl of menudo in Buellton. My only advice is to make sure you tell them exactly how you like your menudo, especially the size and amount of tripe and hominy. That part was my mistake for not asking. Either way, the menudo was delicious, and I would definitely give Burrito Lalo another try the next time I'm in the area!

Not knocking the place, it was just my personal experience as far as the amount of food or lack of, but the freshness was definitely there and for Mexican food, it was very light, and that's also a good thing. We both had room for a danish pastry and that was a good thing and still were not stuffed, which is also a good thing. Overall, if you are someone who expects huge plates of food at a Mexican restaurant, this place won't give you that. But because the food tastes so fresh and great, I totally recommend it, I enjoyed it and would definitely eat here again on my next trip to Solvang to try some different dishes.

The owner or the manager should absolutely be fired!!!! There is absolutely lack of pride in this dump that they call Taco Bell I can get past the fact that it's outdated since the 80s but the bathrooms are atrocious they smell bad there's of course gangster writing on the walls there is filth and dirt everywhere that's just the bathroom the main eating area is not a whole lot better than that Nobody can wipe down the walls nobody can seem to wipe down anything even the front doors that are glass look like they haven't been cleaned in probably a month Stopped in there to eat but then decided against it because if they can't take care of the outside I guarantee you they can't take care of the kitchen Avoid this place like the plague would you probably could catch read more

First thing he said Mother Hubbards. That was good enough for me have some breakfast and a parking lot nap. Mothers looks across at the old Split Pea Andersons relic building Thats another story. Mothers place has been here awhile, 30 plus years its got that look, signage thats faded and to the point. Classic mom & pop, Tired, well worn, and very friendly, with great home cooked meals. The love is here, hard work, and long hours. Its shows too, done when you actually had to make and prepare meals to be cooked when ordered. Riley was "the" worker, her energy shows brightly. Big smile, and good knowledge of the menu and the neighborhood. (She deserves a raise). She covered my questions... whats the most popular item ordered? She replied sweet or savory...good answer. How bout for breakfast not sweet? Oh you'll want to try the "Mess" its a scramble...Ok and let me try the biscuits with a bit of gravy. It was minutes and breakfast arrived, the gravy was last to show and as soon as I looked at it I knew it was made in the kitchen. Not from a dry mix, or frozen starter and certainly not from a can. Good food. We ordered and shared Split Pea Soup and Turkey Burger. My mom added Mushrooms and…read moreAvocado on the burger and it tasted delicious. The waitress split the foods in half for us and charge us $3.15 for each item that we split. Service is a little slow due to tmot is a small business. I don't mind returning to this place and try some other foods on their menu.
