And to their credit, three people, including the owner/manager, were bussing tables as fast as possible. But consequently, it was hard to "flag" the waitress, and I only did so as she forgot me on two occasions. But I am a patient person...just hungry. COMMENTS: * A basket of chips and salsa (VERY GOOD) is $3. Profit margins are slim. They are worth paying for. * The AC was "barely" there. When it was in the upper 80s outside at 6 pm and cooler than it was inside, a HVAC mechanic was desperately needed. According to their Facebook page, this has been going on for a couple of weeks. It is either the landlord of a largely vacant strip mall (with a couple of anchors opening, which may help), causing the problem, or it is a triple-net lease, in which the restaurant is responsible for paying for the repairs. It's an expensive task. * Again, patient, but I wish that the waitress had checked more than twice - once to serve and once to refill a pop. Then, as the tables were still in some demand, "Let me cash you out..." It felt a bit like the "bum's rush." However, the food is good if you enjoy Tex-Mex cuisine. Given the observation made of the drink area and the tray return area, I do wonder about that... Here's what I noticed: * I ordered Barbacoa in a bowl. MAYBE I received a 2-oz portion * The balance of the bowl was probably proportioned correctly * The side of guacamole was about 2/3 full, and for $2.75, I had no issue bringing that to their attention. "Maybe" they swiped at it again. A customer shouldn't have to ask. * Going back to that "lunch rush," EVERY serving tray was being scraped to the bottom. Now I understand this practice completely if the remaining food is added to the new tray. I just get "miffed" when my bowl gets the "leftovers" and not the benefit of the newly delivered food to the line. * I don't know where the previous staff member whom I encountered during my last visit went. I felt ignored, and that they were bothered I was there... said with a smile... sort of. * If you intend to receive a large drink, fine. No need to order it; it will be given to you... for $3.25.
