The girls and I got together to catch up. When I arrived I parked on the street nearby. I walked in and seen the girls at the bar. Cat was our bartender and she was nice. They had happy hour that consisted of 1 taco and 1 beer/margarita for $10. I went with the shrimp taco and margarita. I wasn't feeling the margarita so I switched to the red wine. The shrimp taco came out and it looked good and it tasted ok. The owner treated us to a drink which was nice of him. I went with the lemon drop martini and the bartender had to go to the recipe book for the instructions. She made a face when she tasted it so I already knew I wasn't going to like it. I tried it and I didn't like it. I just stuck with the red wine. I will say the bill was affordable though.

Stopped in for a quick drink and it was great! Cat the bartender is fun and engaging. Excited to stop in again soon.

Cute tequila bar sandwiched between its sister restaurants ITA and carvao (just as good). Fun atmosphere with a fun cocktail menu. Short food menu keeps things simple and quick. Highly recommend !

I enjoyed sitting near the window to get a glimmer of sunlight while responding to emails. Happy hour deals are not too bad either, though I didn't bother with any food. But definitely a lot of character and fun vibes to this place. I recommend residents, tourists, etc. to at least stop by for a drink.

I've…read moreseen it grow, evolve, and consistently deliver some of the most inspiring live performances in Jersey City. Dancing Tony is the best for keeping the JC hopping with music. But this year, a dark stain on that otherwise vibrant experience came from Lucky 7 bar itself. Let's be clear -- this wasn't just a case of being busy or understaffed. This was blatant, willful ignoring of anyone who didn't fit a very specific mold. Myself and several others waited patiently (and obviously) at the bar, cash in hand, only to be passed over again and again while bartenders prioritized regulars, deep-pocketed bros, and the kind of performative hipsters who drink PBRs out of obligation like their hot topic t-shirt to a punk band way beyond their years. What's worse: there was no acknowledgment, no "we'll be right with you," not even a glance. Just a pointed refusal to serve anyone who didn't register as familiar, flashy, or fashionable. Or, who knows what reason. We gave up after 15 minutes. Luckys is a great a dive bar that's lived through the different incantations of the JCs arts scene but the bartenders working during the festival this year, particularly the woman, worked with a particular set of blinders that you had to bow down to. Looking forward to next year but hopefully with better service inside the bar.

My second time here and a first for my friends We started with the crudo and the whipped ricotta and the carpaccio for me the whipped ricotta was amazing with the date syrup and the olive oil and the carrots gave it a perfect crunch I hope they never change it I had the Lumache omg what can I say but it was simply amazing so delicious my friend had the Mafaldine another amazing dish it had a smoky taste to it that was so yummy and my other friend had the special dish of the day which was the black bass fish she loved it We also tried the tiramisu which was a little dry for my taste but we also tried the Lemon Olive Oil Cake which in my opinion should be called Limoncello Cake because it has a very profound taste of lemon which reminds me of limoncello lol it was super moist and delicious a must try! Definitely will be coming back!

The scallion pancake was a bit small but it was super delicious. The chicken katsu had an interesting tangy flavor and was nice and crispy. Service (4/5): Top notch service with super friendly staff. Only issue we had was we were asked if we wanted a bread refill for the Whipped Ricotta and we didn't know it's cost $5 which surprised us a bit on the check. Ambiance (5/5): Nice interior ambiance and super well designed restaurant. We walked by many times and got drawn by the beautiful interior which is why we came. Classy and nice vibe.

The gentleman behind the bar, Miguel, gave me the lowdown that it was a cash-only bar and pointed out the ATM. He quickly fulfilled each of my orders as I worked the beer tap and potato chips. Eventually, I joined the bar banter and bought a round of drinks - slainte! PARKING (Varied; N/A this instance) This was an easy flat 15-minute walk from my friend's place. Otherwise, there appeared to be plenty of spots (no known private lot) along the main drag of Newark Ave. and all surrounding roads - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE The true embodiment of a neighborhood dive bar, and I loved it! Everything was at its minimal best https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=24&select=UC8GMkpbJmd0suQKBhj4fg from the beer list, snacks, and decorations, to a surprising amount of liquor options, a small "back" room, plenty of stools around the bar, a jukebox that had banging songs, and an ATM in the corner. Minimal natural lighting came through the two small tinted windows while equally-minimal electric lights filled in the rest. There were several muted TVs while music only played in the background if someone fed the jukebox. https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?userid=8jVT2inwc8GIQ6sH2UG9Vw&start=0&select=zDQRpf0XuB7CqKDhfuT9fA ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I've officially adopted Grape Vine Tavern as my area dive bar! The prices were cheap and the pace was relaxed, but it was the quick acceptance I felt with the four local gentlemen and Miguel when I first settled in. Plus, you were allowed to bring your own food. And, I always loved supporting small businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $36.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). Sadly, they were a cash-only establishment, so they certainly didn't accept my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
