4.5* only cuz.. holy sauce lol delicious tacos, i only wish the solid components outweighed the liquid ones. But i really enjoyed the flavors in the 'shrimp bing bang boom' taco.. the fried chicken (el rooster negro) one had a way different flavor profile than i expected (too sweet for me personally but not at all bad). Service friendly qnd quick. Wait was maybe 5mins read more

DH asked me to pick up some dinner on the way home from work and suggested we try Taco Bamba. It is very convenient on the way home from work, so sure! I ordered on-line for pick-up. There were so many choices, I did not know where to begin. So I finally picked 4 of my favorite taco flavors. I was intrigued by the Mexican hot dog so I added that as well. I can never resist guac so I got a side of that as well. We loved everything, especially the birria taco. Such a nice combination of a bit of sweet and dash of sour. You can tell the guac is fresh and without any icky preservatives too. That will a favorite stop on the way home from work I can tell! Taco Bamba is da bomb read more

A friend and I visited during Happy Hour on Thursday, June 13th. The restaurant was about 20% full so we easily snagged a table. Walking in, it seemed as though we were supposed to head to the register to place our order; however, one of the servers informed us that we can either order at the register or they could take our order from our table. We chose the latter option which gave ourselves more time to review the menu and ask questions. The Happy Hour menu drinkwise will get you a margarita, sangria, beer, or wine for $5. Foodwise, unless you get the Crispy Meat Spring Roll, it's not really worth it. The tacos (at least some if not all) listed on the Happy Hour menu are $5, but they cost $4 on the regular menu. Make that make sense... Table service was a bit slow, but the servers were very helpful in general. Since (1) it was my first time dining here, (2) I already committed myself to trying a variety of menu items, and (3) I was on the fence about trying their queso, I asked whether I could sample the queso in a small salsa cup. The server told me she couldn't do that, so I didn't order it. My friend asked me whether I was upset about that... Nope, I have no reason to feel bad about spending less money at an establishment than I would have otherwise. I ended up going to Torchy's for queso later that night, lol. Anyways, my picks: -- Margarita Bambera: average. -- Bamba Wings (chili garlic butter): these were supposedly "grilled" but they tasted broiled. The chili garlic flavor was pretty good but just not what I expected as I wanted the wings to be a bit saucier and these were dryyyy. -- Scott's Addiction taco: absolutely delicious. I wanted to try something unique to the RVA menu, and this taco is a nice compliment to the city. This single taco was very filling. -- Crispy Meat Spring Roll: very tasty. There's a lot going on inside this spring roll, but it works! -- Churros: mediocre. Good enough to chomp on but not so good that I would crave these in the future. While street cart churros are adequately greasy, these seemed air fried so they might be someone's cup of tea but not mine. The churros are served in an open cup with caramel at the bottom, but I prefer to dip my churros on my own. -- Pork rinds: ordered to-go. Nicely seasoned and made to order, but I've had better elsewhere. I'd still order these again, though. Unfortunately I didn't see the salsa station until I was leaving, so I didn't get to try any with my meal (except one of the amazing salsa verdes that was served with my food; I don't know which dish because everything came out all at once). When we left, the restaurant was nearly at capacity. Overall, cool spot with good grub, but nothing to write home about. read more

I had two tacos: Scott's Addiction and Machu Pollo. The toppings and sauces for both were delicious, and the corn tortillas held up well. However, I'm dinging them for how tough the meat was in the Scott's Addiction. I could not bite through it. I pulled it out, and attempted to saw it into bite-size pieces, but it defeated the plastic knife as well. The only real disappointment in an otherwise tasty lunch. read more

I love love love coming to taco bamba! They have such an extensive menu so it's worth taking a peak online before going if you get overwhelmed by too many choices. We always order a wide variety of tacos to split and have rarely had one that we didn't like, so I think it's great to just go with your gut and what you're in the mood for. Don't skip chips and the salsa verde - so good. Very casual vibe and service is order at register and then wait for them to call out your number. Happy hour is a great deal too and their margaritas are amazing. read more

My husband wanted a quick dinner but not fast food and Taco Bamba delivered on all fronts. Not only was the food delicious but the service was fast and great! We each got two tacos and then shared an order of taquitos and black beans and rice. We loved the salsa bar and I would love to go back for happy hour since they have a nice bar. It had a few tables outside but we chose to sit inside which was really comfortable and had a nice chill vibe. We will be back!:) read more

Where do I start? Best service! Should out to Scarlett and Amin! Great food! Amazing drinks! We sat at the bar for a quick drink and some tacos... we ended up spending hours! It was such a great experience it was hard to leave. The music was set the tone! We started with chips, guacamole and queso. All were really good and the portions made sense. I got the BIG PERM'S CATFISH and rich men. Lots of fresh flavors. The wings were definitely a highlight! The flavor was perfect - smoked but crispy. The fries were hefty - totally a shareable option. Again... the flavors, such as hit! The drinks - I turned into a mezcal fan! Will definitely be back! read more

I went with my daughter and friends, and folks - this place is good! We had never been before and were a little overwhelmed by their menu. We asked the young lady at the counter what she would recommend and she knocked it out of the park. We had the Scott's Addiction tacos (10/10), El Rooster Negro tacos (8/10), Taco Bamba tacos (6/10), and the dry rub chicken wings (10/10). We were really impressed. The Mexican corn was fantastic - no complaints! We also tried the Agua Frescas (watermelon, mango, and strawberry) and they were so good that we bought an additional bottle of each before we left. It is a small joint, but spots to sit down opened up pretty quickly. Overall, we had a great time. Would absolutely recommend. read more

Maybe I came on an off day or maybe it's what I ordered but the food was mid. I came on a Saturday at 11:30am and there were only two other groups inside. I was welcomed right away and figured out I needed to walk to the back to order. Staff was very nice. I guess everyone ordered online for pick up just before I ordered because it took 20+ minutes to get tacos. We did get chips and salsa while we waited but the chips weren't warm and they could have used more salt. The salsa bar was fun and I like the mild salsa and the green one. Get two bags of chips if you are with someone else because one won't be enough. I ordered several tacos and a quesadilla. From the TACOS NUESTROS menu the BIG PERM'S CATFISH was pretty good! But SHRIMP BING BANG BOOM was not great. The first two bites were okay but then it's gochujang sauce soup. I couldn't finish it because it was so overpowering. Also got PORCHY'S quesadilla but whatever they put on it to make it "diablo" didn't taste good. Kind of like a fake barbecue flavor. I didn't eat much of that either. Finally got a Pescado Taco and a Camaron Taco and those were fine but not as good as the catfish. read more

Hands down one of the best taco places that I've ever been to. The food is fresh, although many of the dishes are a little spicy. D selection for tacos is quite expansive.Rain from Ahee tuna to a cheeseburger taco shrimps. You want it , they have it. The prices for the tacos is insane at $5.50 apiece, they also have sandwiches and bowls that are also extremely reasonably priced. Quite frankly, I don't know how this play stays in business because it is clean and well kept .I am definitely coming back. read more

So yummy! I enjoyed my food and drinks at the bar where the bartender was very nice and attentive. This place is very similar to Torchy's Tacos in Short Pump but I think this has more fun drinks! I had the Mango Mahal cocktail which was delicious. To eat I enjoyed the chips and guacamole, and two tacos. The Shrimp Bing Bang Boom & El Rooster Negro were both amazing. I'll definitely be back! I'm curious to try this place for breakfast :) read more

We went on a family outing to bring in the new year and ate at Taco Bamba. We tried the Mass Experience and it was the best decision to make! Starting with chips and 4 different kinds of dip allowed all of us to find a flavor we liked the most. The quesadilla came out next and was packed full of flavor. We tried Jeffries for the first time and they were delicious. Finally the tacos came out and sealed the deal for us. The staff there is very knowledgeable and will guide you in the right direction if you aren't sure what to order. On top of great food and great service, the restaurant itself is very bright and clean. Next time you are shopping in Willow Lawn, eat at Taco Bamba, you won't regret it. read more

First time here. Music was a little too loud for my preference. The cashier had on a mask which made it hard to hear. Had to ask her to repeat herself multiple times. I ordered the Carne Asada Sopes with chips and queso. The size of the sope was nice. The flavoring was fairly bland. I grew up eating hispanic food and have had better. 6/10. The queso was okay. Nothing special 5/10. I'm willing to give it another chance. Maybe I should come back at a different time and order something else. Compared to Torchy's... I would choose Torchy's 10000 over Taco Bamba. read more

I no longer have to drive to Falls Church for my favorite tacos! Tacos were delicious and perfectly cooked/prepared. Wings were a big surprise. If I had to call out a low point it would be that the corn was a bit soft/overcooked compared to my NoVA experience. Still a stretch to call it out as an issue. read more

I can't get enough of this place. The tacos are so juicy, I go through a stack of napkins on every visit. The flavors and seasoning on the tacos is insane! The menu has countless items, but I love the Small Biggie Smashburger, the Herky Jerky and the El Rooster Negro so much, I've never strayed from these three items. Staff couldn't be nicer, too! This place is a regular for me. I sure hope they stick around! read more

First let me say the food is fantastic and the asada sope is the closest tasting and authentic sope I've had - very comparable with the ones I've had in Mexico and LA. Only one but pretty significant problem - Bamba's changed their policy if you're ordering Asada. Even if you show up in person, they only let you have it if you place an online order. We've never had to do this before at any other Bamba location and even at our previous trips to this Bamba. It was a hassle to have to pull out our credit card information and continuously check the to go order area despite eating in and being settled at our table. Additionally, we wanted to order MORE to our meal so we had to place ANOTHER online order, which was supposed to take them 30 extra minutes. But they were late to that time estimation by an additional 10-15 minutes. So we were hungrily waiting for the other half of a meal for 40 minutes. Carne Asada is one of the most popular and traditional meats of Mexican street food. Bamba shouldn't be making it this hard to get it. Not to mention - Bamba needs to prioritize their in-person customers who are waiting on to-go orders they were forced to place. Looks like we will not be coming back and we'll just order to-go. If you want Carne Asada, you're better off eating at home. read more

My wife picked up a to go order last night. When she got home, we noticed that that the order was incorrect. The tacos we ordered were wrong, and we were also missing tacos. The receipt was correct, and we were charged for the items we ordered. She called the restaurant twice, and they hung up both times. I called on my phone and asked for the manager and was hung up on also. We have been to Taco Bamba numerous times, and my wife wrote a glowing review in 2024. Management should look into this. read more

Salsas were tasty. Tacos were pretty good but a bit expensive. Location is great for us though so would try again!

An amazing addition to Richmond. Their food is phenomenal and the drinks are top notch. They also have an excellent happy hour with $6 margaritas. The pork rinds are a must try, they'll show up still popping from the fryer. The churros are also amazing! read more

So we were so very honored to attend the pre-opening festivities (shoutout to one of our fellow CFF's) for RVA's newest @tacobamba located in Willow Lawn! We were greeted and felt very welcomed! We placed our orders with a very knowledgeable staff. Our togo order came out piping hot even with the size of the crowd they were feeding that day. (The tacos held up very well in transition also). I opted to try El Gringo (4.7/5),Scott's Addiction (3.8/5) Camaron Taco(4/5)and the black beans and rice (very well seasoned 4.5/5)! Please keep in mind I'm not fond of a corn tortilla but these were good and again held up very well. Mimi thoroughly enjoyed her food, she definitely said try the soup. They also have a fully stocked bar. If you're looking for something different than a lot of the run of the mill taco spots, cool vibe and great customer service ...come here! Really good flavors. Much better than chipotle. All the ingredients are fresh and tasty.

What a great place to get some delicious tacos. I went here with a couple of friends looking for some flavorful food and oh boy did they deliver. We got a variety of tacos and all of them were amazing and don't even get me starting on the churros "They Were To Die For". The ambiance is similar to a dive bar mixed with a taco truck which I absolutely adored. To put the cherry on top the service was delightful and friendly. All the food is a la carte. It was tasty but spending $50+ on a couple of tacos, some chips and a prepackaged brownie just wasn't what we expected from the reviews. The taco was ok. Nice to see catfish on the menu. Queso tasted like Velveeta. Street corn was the best thing ordered. I'm all for new taco spots but this was more like a tapas bar where they wanted you to order drinks and light snacks. Not a lunch spot at all. read more

First of all, these are hands down the best tacos I've ever had in my entire life! Full stop If you haven't had them, go; it will change your life and ruin you for every other taco Sadly, every time I have ordered in the past few weeks on Door Dash or Uber Eats, my order has been made incorrectly. I'm vegetarian, so I order it without meat, but most of the time, the meat is put on anyway or substituted with shrimp. Just an FYI Again, the taste of the food is amazing and there is nothing like it read more

Damn good tacos! My hubby & I found this place by accident while he was having his car worked on. The staff were nice & chatty, everyone smiling. It was a Saturday afternoon & not at all busy. The food came quickly & was hot. We enjoyed trying all the salsas. I ordered the Poblano Shroom Tacos, without the cotija cheese, and it was so freaking delicious!! It can be hard finding vegan or vegetarian tacos that are not just beans & veggies. These tacos didn't disappoint. They were spicy & so fresh with flavor. I may have dreams about these tacos My only negative about the place (I'm going to sound like a total Karen) the music was super loud inside & outside. My grain felt like it was rattling. read more

My friends and I were so excited to try out Taco Bamba in Willow! After our experience, we all decided the food was lack luster. We got the carne asada tacos, the Other fries, chili garlic wings, a torta, and a chicken quesadilla. All of the food was not that good. It was very bland. The meat and toppings were not seasoned enough. A plus is that the meat was tender and not chewy and our orders came fast, but we ended up not being satisfied. Hopefully it was an off day for the business, but we will most likely not try it again read more
