I used to go to King Taco regularly for tacos until I remembered the existence of this place! Their tacos are the bomb! One thing to note is that the tortillas are oily so this makes their tacos unhealthier. I always order three carne asada tacos when I come here. Be sure to avoid the red sauce or order it on the side because I promise you that it's VERY SPICY. I usually order a large horchata to counter the spiciness but it's not enough! One down thing about this place is the dining area. It's outdoors. :( The staff aren't too friendly and they got my order wrong (and gave me a hard time) one time. I ordered three carne asada tacos but instead, they gave me three veggie tacos. The guy who also took my order that day was moody too. For some reason this place seemed a lot better when I'd go back in the day, like 15 years ago when I was just a kid. The food didn't seem overly greasy and blah. Now it...does. Parking is street only. Luckily on a Saturday afternoon we found that easily. I say almost because the ingredients and flavors sometimes change from country to country, but their food remains quite up there. Food: menu is short but flavorful. My daughter loves this place. She goes here with her dad because he lives nearby. The food is good, but not a place I would drive out of my way for. I went because she insisted that I try one of her favorite spots with her dad. How could I continue to say no? She got her regular order of Carne Asada with beans and cheese, so she was a happy camper. She wanted to sit near the window in the front so she could watch the guys prep the food. She said it's the best seat at the joint. I would have to agree. I tried the asada tacos and I want to say carnitas and they were both good, but at $1.75 each not really as good as the places I like that are in Highland Park and Pasadena. So back to the seating, it's all outdoors, which I'm not a big fan of, no bathrooms which ain't good if you don't live nearby and the parking is on the street. We got lucky, but I can see when people may not be as lucky. I do like that they recycle the bottles that are served. For me that's a plus. I get they are street tacos but I felt the price was a little high, almost $2.30 for small tacos. The tacos add up since you can eat more. I will say they pack the meat for the small so that's nice! It's better than a $5 taco with maybe the same amount meat lol. I would say it's worth it to come for the meats that aren't typically sold everywhere (like lengua, cabeza, and buche). The buche taco was sooo good. I wished I ordered more. The buche wasn't too greasy and it wasn't overly chewy. Great texture! The burrito was also very good and at a very good price. I liked that you can have a burrito with these "non-typical" meats. I haven't found a place like that besides here. They pack it with meat and it's big enough to get you full for a while! My usual go to when it's late and I'm munching. Good food but I'm still trying to figure out how my tacos came out to 3.25 a piece with just onion cilantro when the menu says 2.50.. The place is good, food is good but be ready to have a hard time with the sauce, they will give one sauce per burrito and 2 per taco, which if you're into mexican food, it is nowhere near enough to eat with. If you want more you'll have to pay a quarter to get it. Simple and delicious. You know this place is legit because they only serve entrees... no chips or extra stuff like that. Try the carne asada quesadilla! It's amazing and even the plain bean and cheese burrito is delicious. They have great salsas and hot sauce, and we always grab extra fresh limes and cilantro. Also, the horchata is a must-try. I'd appreciate if they knew basic English to follow your online order instructions and understand the concept of delivery. When your food is ordered online and for delivery that means, you stay at your home and wait for your food. When you put no rice, no onion, and extra cilantro, that means the white tiny grains and the stinky white vegie shouldn't be in your burrito, and more of the green stuff. I ate not one, but 2 burritos in the span of 24 hours, and this one was my favorite (don't tell the other restaurant). They have great(!!) vegetarian burritos, which is hard to come by at small restaurants like this. This is a small whole in the wall authentic Mexican restaurant. They have a small outdoor patio to the left and bar stool seating running along the edge of the restaurant. This is a definitely a spot for locals, and is located directly across the street from Glendale High School. My burrito was HUGE- filled with lettuce, onion, tomato, rice, cheese and beans. You can also ask for salsa- the green one was meh, but the red is a smoky chipotle style salsa that isn't very hot but flavorful. They do not have an expansive menu list but they have everything you would need from a mexican restaurant with really good prices.
