I was up in PSL and Jensen Beach for work and decided I couldn't bring myself to get on 95 and was driving federal all the way home to WPB. I was hungry so I yelped vegetarian places cause I like to eat plant based a lot to make meat and treats taste even better when I have them and to love the planet. I immediately thought this listing looked interesting and am so glad I stopped by for a fresh juiced glass of greens and a falafel wrap! This place is really cool! The employees were a tiny bit slow but very nice and I would LOVE to see something like this open up in Palm Beach County. They have TONS of import and organic groceries and the building boasts a lot of reclaimed and green certified materials. I really enjoyed my juice and wrap. The end. read more

The best Falafel on the planet! On the PLANET! I repeat ON THE PLANET!!! Need I say more? This falafel is middle eastern, authentic, moist, and absolutely melts in your mouth. Grape leaves, salads, and fresh organic juices are also top notch, flavorful, delicious. And the store is filled with middle eastern finds, such as dry roasted chic peas, Turkish figs, candy coated almonds, halva and much much more. It's like going to a little store in Brooklyn. And oddly enough this place is in a gas station. The front half is middle eastern store. The back half is middle eastern restaurant! Getting tired of the usual downtown Stuart lunch spots, I decided to give this place a whirl. Definitely an odd setting - convenience store up front, little cafe, Middle East grocery store in the back. The place is clean. I ordered the falafel wrap on a pita and the lentil soup. Both very good, and fresh. The wrap was a nice medley of flavors, especially with the pickled veggies. Nice to have a vegetarian option, although I am not one, I do like to have options other than the usual sandwich, grilled chicken salads etc from all the other local places. I'll return. read more

Being a lover of MIddle Eastern food (from the Detroit area Arab community), I was eager to try this cafe. I ordered my usual start point items: lentil soup, falafel platter and chicken shwarma salad. A helpful and friendly person took my order, asked which table I would be sitting at, then vanished into the chaotic open view kitchen. I sat down, drank a cup of free mint tea, and looked over the grocery items as I waited. The shwarma came out in a few minutes and was a disappointment! The white meat strips had hardened a bit and the chop salad showed brown lines at the cut marks of the romain. The dressing, too, lacked flavor. No one told me that I was to serve myself the lentil soup. I waited, then helped myself. The soup tasted not middle eastern at all. None of the spices could be discerned. Where was the cumin?? At best, the soup would do well in a vegetarian restaurant. It was tasty, though lacked national characteristics of the region. Then the falafel fiasco. They never came. When I approached the counter, the cook handed me a shrimp shwarma sandwich. I asked him for the platter, he looked at the ticket, the friendly first person intervened, he grumbled "not on the ticket" (it was, since I saw the ticket when I paid), then told me he'd make me a platter. They were terrific when I did get them. Sooo, overall ... Below par for me, at any rate. Four people in the kitchen running into and over each other cannot produce a decent product. Everyone has a bad day, I guess. Will I return? I doubt it. read more

Great food. Unique setting inside a Sunoco gas station. Visited last night and got some wonderful stuff to go. Tabuleh salad, hummus, garlic spread, baba ghannouj, pita chips with garlic, pita chips with green Zarathustra, olives and tatziki sauce. Fabulous. Everything was sensational. Today we were back for the Sunday buffet. Great spread with scrambled eggs, home fried potatoes plus some chicken with veggies, yummy falafel with a very tasty sauce, and some small flat pitas topped with meat, others topped with cheese and others topped with some green herbs and sesame seeds. There were assorted cold salads from all over the Mediterranean. Each one more flavorful than the other. Also had an assortment of soups: lentil, spinach and a couple of other selections. Also on the buffet watermelon and Halavah for dessert. Hot teas and a lovely fruit punch. The buffet was extraordinary. The price was $11.00 which is an incredible value. Sunday buffet is served 11am to 3pm. This could easily become a Sunday habit. read more

The food is good, but the male proprietor is rude and abrupt with customers. He was very impatient with me while explaining how side dishes are charged extra - so much so that afterwards, his wife came up to me to smooth it over. She seemed to relate to how I was feeling being spoken to in such a demeaning manner! Then, I got home with my order, and it was not what I paid for. I drove back to the restaurant to return it, and when he was completely unapologetic and short with me again, I opted for a refund rather than wait for my corrected order. He had to have his son deal with the refund via their iPad set-up, and when I got home, I realized they jipped me out of $2! Some of you are probably too young to remember the original Saturday Night Live cast in the mid 1970's, let alone any of the classic skits they performed. Dan Akroyd, Bill Murray and Gila Radner did a commercial spoof on a fictitious product whose name I can't even remember, but the opening lines of the ad had a husband and wife arguing back and forth over a bottle of cleaner. "It's a floor wax ........ no, it's a dessert topping ........ No! It's a floor wax ........ No! It's a dessert topping!" Then the announcer breaks up the fight and says "Your BOTH right! It's a floor wax AND a dessert topping!" Long set up for a lame joke. Apologies. But that's what the Tabuleh Cafe reminds me of. I'm picturing Bill and Gilda saying "It's a gas n sip ........ no, it's a restaurant ......... No! It's a gas n sip ........." Well, they're both right! The cafe sits inside the back half of a convenience store that sells Middle Eastern grocery items, AND outside, it's a Sunoco gas station, too. Seems like a weird combination, but think about the food stops on Florida's Turnpike, or Stuckey's up in North Florida off of I-95. Same concept, just on Federal Highway instead. The location touts itself as being very environmentally friendly and ecologically neutral, so maybe that's a plus for you. I'm indifferent to that train of thought, so not a big deal. I'm not sure how authentically middle eastern the dishes are -- because they all look and taste different than those same dishes I've had at other Med cuisine restaurants, but don't let that keep you from trying them, because everything I've tried is delicious. Starting with the free hot tea they have -- sometimes mint, sometimes sage, or both -- to warm your insides and set the mood for your stomach to start it's engine. I've had shawarma -- which is more or less a gyro if you've ever eaten at a Greek restaurant, falafel -- a deep-fried ball of mashed chick peas and other spices (like hummus, but a little different) and their namesake, Tabuleh, which is a kind of tart, relish-like salad. Everything is fresh and organic, and made right there in front of you. Since the dining area is in the back of a convenience store, you basically have every manner of beverage to drink, sodas to juices, teas to coffees, even beer and wine, and about 100 different brands of water. They blend fresh juices there, too, but that's just not my thing. The transaction flow is a little weird to me though, I must be honest. You order at the counter, and then they ask you what table your going to sit at (they are numbered with a place setting card, like at a wedding). Then you get your own beverage (no cups or glasses, just right from the can/bottle) and sit down at the table you picked. Within about 5 to 10 minutes, they bring your order to your table. After you eat, you then have to go back to the counter (the register is at the end) and bring your empty can or bottle with you, so they can add it to your order, and only then, ring it up to tell you how much you owe. Just feels awkward, but it seems to work for them, so more power to them. So, the next time both you AND your car are low on fuel, and you're driving around northern Stuart, put something from the Middle East in both of your gas tanks. read more

Visiting Stuart/Palm city, been disappointed in the food overall. What a pleasant surprise to find excellent falafel! Nice texture to the balls. Nice spicing. Great sides. I am pretty bummed I have passed this place by for over a year or so because of the Sunoco gas station camouflaging one of the best Mediterranean places I have ever had the pleasure of. What's better is that it is tucked behind an Asian/Med/Mid market. I was so happy with the tasty crunchy falafel and the smooth hummus that I actually ate here twice in the same sitting. I finished my meal and promptly ordered another round of hummus and the falafel with eggplant. They really wanted me to try the dolmas. Decent food, but service is very disorganized. They had 3 menus - 1 on a TV, 1 on the wall, and 1 printed in a brochure. We tried to order an entree from the TV and were told that they did not have it yet, as the TVs are new. Well if you don't have it, turn off the TV! She told us we couldn't order off of the brochure menu because it was out of date. Then attempted to re-create the entree on the TV and we ended up with meat even though it was a vegetarian entree. The woman seemed confused, flustered, and lost. She asked about 5 times if we were eating there. We then found out they were out of one of the main items that was supposed to be included in the entree. 25 minutes later we finally had something to eat. Falafel was dry, other things were ok. Went here for the first time to enjoy their cuisine and get some work done. Their Wifi didn't work (showed up as a hotspot but error when trying to connect; tried two different devices.) Went to the front window asking if their Wifi was out. While the woman was not impolite, she did the usual dance that you see in businesses that don't understand the technology...she had no idea what to do. Ultimately told me I'd have to wait ten minutes to even verify the Wifi was out. And....out the door we go. My advice to the business: don't advertise your Wifi capability if your employees don't understand enough to even know if it's working, and how to repair it (which frequently involves turning the router on & off.) If someone came in for coffee, and your coffee pot was empty, would you tell the customer they'd have to wait ten minutes just to verify you're out of coffee? C'mon guys, you can do much, much better. read more

I have been eating at this establishment for years and have NEVER been disappointed. As a vegan, I do not like going out to eat all that much, for it is usually a great challenge. but not here. This place has THEE best vegetarian platter around. And it could be easily shared by two people...unless you are really hungry. Do not be fooled by the fact that it inside a gas station. And lest we mention all the love items I can get here in the way of middle eastern items that I cannot find anywhere else. We will keep on coming back for sure. read more

Stopped in here today. Can't believe we never knew about this little gem before. They had an all-you-can-eat buffet going on, but we opted to order something from their menu. The menu is small enough that it is obvious they are making everything fresh. We ordered the lamb kabobs and chicken kabobs. Both were tender and nicely spiced. Excellent! Nice selection of veggie & fruit drinks that they make from scratch. We got the Planet Cocktail. You order at the front and they bring the food to your table. Nice friendly staff. Like everyone has mentioned, it is a combination gas station, grocery, and cafe. The main place is really called Planet Ozone and the cafe is inside. The cafe is at the back and is a generally quiet and relaxing deli-style area. They claim that all meats are all natural, and hormone/antibiotic free. We are no experts on middle eastern cuisine, but we will definitely try some Falafel, Shawarma and other items next time around. read more
