Wonderful experience overall. Normally I prefer reds but didn't find one here I liked. The flight of whites was good. The two pinot gris were ok to good while the 2022 Gewurtraminer was terrific. Sadly we got no food so cannot comment on the quality or quantity. We had dogs with us ( a morning spent at Old Mission Lighthouse) so were relegated to the back patio. The two ladies working were OUT STANDING and I would come for another tasting just to chat with them. Seriously! We ended up each ordering another glass of the Gewurtraminer. Bottom libe: do a flight (or two!) but be sure to include the Gerwurtraminer @$9/glass -a steal! read more

Pulling up to this place, it seemed like it was going to be nothing spectacular, but wow were we wrong! On our wine tour, we arrived at this shed looking winery. We're used to large and "classier" looking places so we weren't sure how this was going to be. This place knocked our socks off in more ways than one (through great conversation and because their wine was pretty powerful to be honest). This place is made for wine tours or for you to sample. There's 3(?) different stations with different types of wine (red, white and a mix of the two I think were the stations). You pay the flat rate of the tasting to go to each station and get to hangout in this awesome looking barn/shed place drinking some wine! All of the wine was great and the workers there were very friendly and knowledgeable. I feel like I learned more about different kinds of wines here than I have at a place that actually showed us how to make it! I would definitely recommend this place as a "beyond a hole in the wall" type of winery. Meaning that it may not look like much on the outside, but when you go into it, you're not getting that "it isn't very exciting" feeling inside. You get a very personable and welcoming feeling during your stay inside. Oh, and the wine will creep up on you if you aren't careful! Like other places, I'm sure they cycle through different wines. Had such a lovely time at Tabone. It's a beautiful vineyard and winery with some truly delicious treats. We went to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and they were so accommodating. We shared a cheese board plus some delicious mimosas and wine flight. The staff was so friendly and the covid-safe protocols (even though we are vaccinated) were wonderful. We were able to push our reservation out an hour due to weather so we could still be outdoors. 100% recommend this vineyard! read more

This winery is a new stop on the wine trail. They have a great back patio with a few different styles of seating, some tables, and yard games (including Jenga, Connect Four, and Cornhole)!! The people that were working were very nice, and fairly knowledgeable about the wine. They seemed to be having a lot of fun (maybe too much). The wine was good - we ended up getting a glass after our tasting because we really liked one of the wines. There was no one else at this winery when we went, maybe because it is brand new this year. I would recommend a stop here. They also secretly suggested that we try a wine at another winery (thanks for the tip!). read more

Tiny, unassuming little winery that you'd miss if you weren't looking for it. Very cute building that almost looks like a farmhouse. The flights of wine were served in these nifty little iron holders, which is so much better than those things where you have to precariously balance three spindly glasses on a tray! We took our flights out back, to their sunny little patio, and chilled back there for a while. I think we ended up bringing some dry bubbly Riesling back with us, that was definitely the winner! read more

One of the BEST wineries on Old Mission peninsula. We brought our puppy which was not at all a problem. They even brought out a big bowl of water for him. (We love that). We sat right next to the vines and had a couple flights. Some wineries in Michigan are not offering flights during COVID, which is such a bummer! The flights here were delicious and we bought 4 bottles to take home. It wasn't busy and the people that were there, were very quiet and respectful of everyone enjoying their peace and wine. The girls came out to take a pic of our dog to post on their Instagram page to show people that they are dog friendly! This place was awesome and we had an overall amazing experience here. Thank you all! P.s their umbrella fell over so my boyfriend went to pick it up and fix it and they gave him a free glass of wine to thank him! SO NICE!!!!! read more

I was on a wine tour with a bachelorette party and this was our third stop of the day. We were informed this was the newest winery of the region. I got myself a tasting and got to try a few different wines. They have several different Rieslings, harvested during different years. I tried two and loved both. The tasting includes some crackera to cleanse your palet and the glass. My most rememberable part of this winery was the outdoor seating area. It included cornhole, giant Connect Four, and a bonfire pit. It was a great area to relax with friends and drink wine. read more

Tabone Vineyards makes some of my favorite dry wines! The staff is very friendly and the patio is perfect for a sunny summer day. The winery was great! I'm still to young to drink so the had options for me! They had sparkling water and they were so nice and gave me juice to make virgin cocktails. They also talked and comforted you while getting your order. They also had an amazing cheese spread!!! Also since we're in a pandemic they had outdoor seating available. It's hard to get a bad wine or have a bad wine tasting experience on Old Mission Peninsula. However, Tabone excels in customer service and actually has some wines that range from good to exceptional. Try the Chardonnay dessert wine and the reserve red for something different yet amazingly excellent (of course the Rieslings are all great). The staff was knowledgeable and amazingly helpful. Smaller than other wineries in the area, this is a winery that deserves far more attention. read more

Substandard customer service describes Tabone to a tee. . This organization makes no effort at all towards encouraging customers to purchase any of their products. Clunky flow-described by one of our group -as an Escape Room scenario doesn't bode well for someone interested in taking home their products. The outdoorarea is in need of a few more umbrellas as well as an employee interested in customer service. I've NO IDEA how this business can compete with neighboring wineries. Save yourself the aggravation and go up the street to Chantal. The concern regarding the necessity of masks was not the issue with this clearly fledgling business. While admittedly it would have been helpful if the overly anxious customer service staff had explained the establishment policy to the customers, the experience would have been less complicated. No, the issue was the long delays in providing wine flights and the fact that not one employee ventured outside, where patrons sampled the wines, to follow up with customers who may have been interested in purchasing any of the products offered. Numerous customers were observed to shrug and leave without making additional purchases --which is the typical experience with successful wineries. So, while the proprietor would like to blame his poor customer service on a arguably controversial issue, this is laughable. If staying in business is the is goal then try following the example of surrounding (and much busier) wineries. They ALL have staff that circulate amongst their customers. They ALL engage customers to determine their likes and they ALL strive towards having satisfied customers purchase the wines that the tastings persuaded them to take home. Whining because their skittish staff were unsure of how to explain the in-house policy to a confused patron is beyond pathetic. How, pray tell, does the lack of amenities translate to concerns with the state mandated mask policy? All the other wineries must comply with the same regulations yet only this place fumbled and was unable to complete the sale. Time to man up. read more

THESE WERE THE NICEST PEOPLE. We did a wine tour of 5 vineyards and this was our favorite stop. The wine is very good quality, absolutely no commercial feelings about it, very home made but done well. Mario, the owner is third generation making wine. Dan who oversees the tasting is very polite and knowledgeable. It's very refreshing when your tasting wine and then the owner walks in and starts pouring your drinks, and he just got done pressing the grapes. Prices are pretty fair, not the cheapest but you're getting a better product. They have fresh baked fancy goods which are unparalleled. Mario's brother makes some the best cookies I've ever had. If your looking for a clean, welcoming winery to visit, I highly recommend this place. Go here, buy a bottle of wine and support this small brand new business. If they are reading this, maybe in the future you could organize some kind of guided tour, I think customers would love it. read more
