I had a great time here and am glad I found it. We were looking for a place nearby to get ciders and really enjoyed being here. You go to the right to the main "barn" building and it's very nice inside. It smelled wonderful and the older lady working the serving area was super sweet and friendly. We really enjoyed sitting outside overlooking the property and just chatting. Flight was amazing I liked all of the ciders I got. The Kin one is reallllllyyyy good. The best cider tasting!! I've been seeing these cute little tasting baskets all over social media so it's time I finally tried them! This place is great. The cider is delicious, they all seemed to be on the sweeter side. Sandra Dee was my personal favorite. The lady at the counter was so helpful and kind. The view is beautiful. So happy we found this place! It is beautiful inside and out. There's plenty of comfortable seating on their patio or inside. The weather was amazing when we visited so there was not a single person enjoying their beverages inside. The views of the surrounding orchards also make it hard to sit inside. They have a wide variety of styles of hard cider available - some made with just apples, some made with cherries, and some made with strawberries, blueberries, and raspberries. They also have a handful of variety of wines available. All the fruit is from one of the orchards managed by Altonen orchards which results in super fresh, refreshing tastes for all of the options. We also ordered the hot pretzel which was very large! It fed two people easily as a snack before dinner. Another party brought their own pizza and had a family dinner on the patio so it's nice to know that's an option as well since they don't have a large amount of food available. read more

Two of us enjoyed the sample of five 2-3oz pours. Pick your own of ciders or/including one rose. Two of em were just ok, too floral or aftertaste of no thank you. But, I liked the smoky 3c's and the best seller, Queen Anne (blueberries and cherries!). Rose was on point, too. We are new to visiting wineries but this place was a welcome stop. The wine selection was light but what they had was good. The atmosphere off the place was nice as they had some very nice outdoor scenery and seating. I will limit the wine review as I am still learning. They also had a vendor in the parking lot selling pizza and other food which could make the drop more appealing for those wanting a bite with their drinks. This place is the coolest! We stopped in this past Dec while visiting TC. Though we usually do more wine tasting, on this trip we tried to hit up more cideries. The lady there is honestly SO nice, I cannot recall her name. The setup is fun, love the tables and overall ambiance, a bit rustic but so charming. Their cider is the best! I am so glad to have discovered this gem. If you're visiting TC, it's only a few min out of town. Hope to come back this spring! Maybe you have someone with you who isn't super into wine, or even if y'all are into wine, still come try Townline, I cannot say enough great things! read more

Such a cool place. It's only a year old and has a great selection of cider. Several unique choices too ranging from dry to sweet. It's cool to see that it's all made from their own apples too. The location is great too, a bit out of the way but the views great, especially if you're there while the trees are blooming. Sitting inside or outside it's a great atmosphere. Google maps got us there just fine but you turn into a farm and follow the signs to the Ciderworks. I definitely recommend because the cider will just get better! read more

Wow! What a wonderful surprise. My wife is the cider fan, but even I loved several of their offerings. The wines are good. Reisling is their best. The cab franc isn't oak aged but at $18 a bottle, far less expensive than others in the area. Excellent stop for those doing the wine and cider tours of the area. read more

As a person who enjoys wineries and breweries, but has never quite been into hard ciders... this place has officially turned me on to the world that is hard ciders. The location has a great set-up, indoor and outdoor seating atop a hill looking over the property. Inside, you'll find "good vibe" music playing on a Bluetooth speaker, board games including Jenga and Apples-To-Apples, and old-style stools and tables sitting atop unused wine/cider barrels. The ciders themselves are what makes this place the greatest. They have a variety of ciders, all with different ingredients and sweetness levels. I ordered a sampler with 4 different ciders. As a drinker who enjoys dry wines, I undoubtedly enjoyed "The Perry" the most. Whether you're hitting the Traverse City area wineries or just need a place to go kill some time and enjoy a drink, this place is a true winner and I highly recommend it. read more

We love this place! Great ciders (Cincinnati Kid and Labor of Love are our favorites). They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and very often have a food truck for snacks while you taste. Everyone was wearing masks and respecting social distancing - a hand sanitizing station is set up right when you enter (doors propped open so you don't have to touch anything). This was my first visit here. They just opened in February and I will definitely be back. They are located right on 31 at Altonen Orchards in a large barn. They had 8 ciders on tap and 4 wines. Everything is made on site. The interior was very rustic and was made with a lot of refurbished pallets. The view was beautiful and I can imagine how beautiful it would be when the cherry trees are blossoming. It wasn't the best cider I have ever had but there were definitely some that I would have again. My two favorites were the Queen Ann and Jay Bird. They have some apparel as well and snacks. Definitely worth a visit. read more

Really cool little cidery, off the beaten path. 8 ciders on taps, plus wine. Corn hole and jenga, plus live music often. I thought the cider was adventurous but need to be refined more. I was a big fan of the Jay bird, a cider with cascade hops. Pretty darn good! They had a good blend of sweet and dry ciders, but I would say the cider as whole tends to be on dryer side. Visited Townline Ciderworks on a spin through Northern MI. Very happy we stopped in...great drink and vibe. 'The Three C's',..I think...is not to be missed. The setting is uniquely 'Northern MI'. Once inside you realize you're in the middle of an orchard. Great seating and views inside and out. Cidertender was very attentive. A great night was had by all, including those at other tables, if the kinships formed are any indication. read more
