Glass of their dry Riesling. Yum!
Hannah H.

This is a wonderful winery with a great outdoor space near the water to watch the boats pass by. I had a glass of their Resiling and my husband had a cider. We both really enjoyed our drinks and loved hanging out in the backyard area. We also got one of their cheese spreads and crackers to snack on. The spread was really yummy but the crackers were some kind of rice cracker that we weren't huge fans of. But it did the trick to hold us over until dinner! My only complaint is I wish they (and other businesses in the area) were open a bit later to enjoy the evening here as we definitely would have come back and hung out for the evening. Definitely worth a stop!!

Visited for the end of season event with a group of six and they had an outdoor seating area that worked well for us! It was a pleasant experience and I look forward to visiting again!

Nice wines and friendly staff at a beautiful location. We had the red wine flight and it was a generous sampling of four fine wines for $18. We ended up buying a bottle of 2019 Cab Franc.

We loved our time at this vineyard! Their Boathouse Bubbly & Peach Cider were beyond delicious! The service and grounds were amazing! We drove all the way from Texas and enjoyed them so much we drove home with several bottles. Do yourself a favor and add this incredible vineyard to your bucket list!!!

We had a great time thanks to the friendly and knowledgable Nancy. We ended up with a couple bottles of the dry Riesling (Knot Too Sweet). We'll definitely be back!

This is a paid tasting. A newer tasting room, it was very basic. One room with a round wine counter in the middle. The staff knew their wines and were friendly. Out the back door is a porch and large yard that overlooks the canal. Boats can even pull up to their dock. You can bring your own food and sit on the porch with some wine.

Loved Boathouse Vineyards when we went here a few years ago. Still use our complimentary wine glasses!

Best peach cider I've ever had, dog friendly grounds and live music on occasion. Worth a stop for sure!

The place is very family friendly and I really appreciated that they had a changing table in the bathroom and a playground outside (and toys inside like blocks)! The outside is beautiful with a little lake and views of the vineyard. However, we were not impressed with the wine at all. It was sub par. I really wanted a sweet wine and the one we got was not sweet enough. The other wines we tried in the flight, were also meh. And this is just a personal dislike but it was a 90 degree day and it was so hot inside (she offered to turn on the AC and even turned the fans on but she said it would take awhile to cool down. I was surprised the AC wasn't on already and there wasn't that much of a breeze to make outside enjoyable).

Two of the current Top Chef contestants were previously chefs here before filming. They have a good sized uncovered outdoor patio, and more limited seating inside. The interior seating has a homey feel, the decor is simple Northern, Lake Michigan. The menu is short, but a good variety of options, I'm not sure how often it changes, as the entrees during our visit were a bit more substantial, suited for cooler weather. We had Ceasar salads, Mac and cheese, burrata, and Chicken Marsala. I also had their soup of the day, a beef chili, my favorite item we had. We thoughts the Ceasar was a standard good. The Mac and Cheese was a bit boring and dry. The Burrata was great, nice fresh tomato's. We also enjoyed the chicken. I had a flight of three of their wines, nicely presented. I thought both of the whites, first fruits, and the Gruner Veltliner, were very good. Gilchrist is relatively newer to the area wineries and a nice addition.
