Meh. I don't really see the appeal of this place. It reminds me of an old beach house getaway. It's something you'd see out of the movie Beaches. There are paintings on the ceilings, fake ivy running up the walls, wicker-esk chairs, floral print everything..really the whole 9 yards. From the appeal of the inside to the food itself, my experience could have been better. There was nothing that made it bad, and likewise nothing that made it great. I finally hit this establishment with some coworkers after oogling it for months and much to my dismay that's all that should have been done -- oogling at the structure. Like other reviewers, I wasn't impressed with my breakfast. The "homefries" were really mushy potatoes without any seasoning. You did get the option to have white, wheat or rye toast which I appreciate. They will also let you substitute an English Muffin in for the toast option. The coffee here is cheap--less than $2 and they will keep on refilling, but of course you need to request refills and same goes for the water. Call me crazy, but you should never have to ask for a refill on tap water. TL;DR, it gets the job done in a pinch, but I would suggest going somewhere else if you have the time. read more

We have been coming here for years for breakfast around Oldtown. It has changed ownership but I'd say the price of food quality has remain the same. I really like the pancakes here and the coffee is pretty good. My husband really likes the French toast as well as the garbage omelette. Service is usually pretty fast. there is a line of the weekend but it goes by pretty quickly. I love the location as we usually stop by whole foods on the way home. The servers are usually older white ladies That have been there forever it seems which I guess adds to the charm of this place. There are not a lot of early breakfast options in old town and I consider this a go-to solid place. read more

I had to comment on the outstanding service I received today. I usually just get breakfast from here about 3-5x/month since I work up the street but today I decided to try something from their lunch menu. I ordered a bacon cheeseburger for pick-up. When I got there, I paid and got back to my office only to realize there was no bacon on the burger. I called back and explained the situation and asked for a partial refund. The woman on the phone apologized for the mistake and instead said that the next time I came in that I would get a discount--which I was totally fine with. I gave her my name and I thought that was that. But no....an hour later a gentleman WALKS INTO MY OFFICE down the street from Table Talk and brings in a fresh bacon cheeseburger and $3 for a partial refund. I was literally at a loss for words..I have never received such outstanding service in my entire life. Although I didn't get the gentleman's name, he said he was the kitchen manager. I'm so blown away by this...the fact that they looked up my number and my job address is just incredible. Table Talk went above and beyond for me and I will never forget this. I absolutely love this place and I commend them for truly caring about their customers and providing excellent customer service. I would give 10 stars if I could! read more

This place was, in a word, awful. Husband and I needed a quick bite to eat this morning while waiting for the movie to start. We got there around 9:45 and were seated right away. We both looked at the menu and wanted to get the creamed chipped beef. Was told by the waitress that it wasn't chipped beef, but hamburger meat in gravy. WTF? Why would you do that? It's like hamburger helper gone very wrong. So, he orders the ham and cheese omelette with home fries and toast, I get the one egg with cheese/grilled ham/home fries/toast platter. I say to him "I hope the home fries don't come with onions because I know how you are about onions." He replied that as long as they were cooked he'd be fine. Our food arrives and he looks at me - the home fries have onions. Big, chunky ones. I figure okay he won't eat them but I will. He takes one bite and says to me "I don't think you'll like these" - I love onions so I fail to see his point. This is where I publically admit my husband was right. These potatoes were foul. They were barely cooked and the onions were on the verge of being raw. Not even salt, pepper, and ketchup could cover up the taste. Thank god I had toast or else I would've gone hungry (I ate only a portion of the ham since I had given most of the slice to him in exchange for his home fries prior to sampling them). The egg was inedible and the cheese looked very plasticy melted on top of it. The waitress never once asked how the food was. She just dropped our check off. $22 with tax for that meal (including a coffee, orange juice, and a hot tea) You have to pay upfront at the bar, which is very inconvenient to get to once the place is crowded. I noticed my husband having words with the guy at the register and ask him about it on the way out. To paraphrase their conversation, the guy (I'm taking it was the owner) asked him how the meal was, my husband told him that it was pretty awful and the guy asked him if it was service related. My husband said no, rather it was the home fries that were inedible. He then said that the owner told him something to the effect of "95% of my customers love these home fries. I grew up on these things. I don't know why you didn't like them." My husband's response was "Well, she and I are part of the 5% that don't like them, and we're not hard to please." He then left. So, take that for what you will. Needless to say, we will not be returning. I'm still tasting the onion 12 hours later. I think I now hate onions (and I loved them so). read more

Old Town NEEDS this place. Amidst the increasingly garish spread of high-rise condos and bureaucratic Taj Mahals around the Duke Street corridor, Table Talk is at it ever was. It's a cozy, no-frills family place perfect for getting an inexpensive, well-prepared breakfast on the weekend. The pancakes are fluffy, sweet and enormous, and when you get toast, it's a heaping stack already buttered and sliced diagonally. They don't skimp at Table Talk - the coffee flows freely, and if you leave hungry, it's your own fault. One word of advice: their hash browns are served chunky potato style, so I recommend asking for them "extra crispy." The owners of Table Talk love kids, so if you can't stand being around families with tots of all ages, this may not be the place for you. But for those of us with wee ones, Table Talk's a godsend. read more

I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch. Had the garbage omelette with fries. Very simple diner food that is delicious and doesn't cost a fortune actually was pretty cheap. My wife had the turkey and dressing and that too was delicious. Wish I would of had the beef stew, apparently people go out of there way to get this and they only serve it on Tuesday. From what I seen it was huge and my mouth was watering but I missed out, maybe next time. The staff was awesome and very friendly and attentive. Would highly recommend. read more

I came to Yelp to remark on the rude hostess and noticed that a number of other reviews have mentioned the rude or clueless hostess. Table Talk is a nice restaurant with a good breafast. We have eaten there several times. Today we went and there was a line outside the door. The hostess stood there staring blankly. Someone in line just said to wait in line and she takes the next people. 10 minutes later someone waltzed by, spoke to the hostess and got a seat at the bar. So I went in and said very nicely: "We would have all taken a seat at the bar if we had been offered the choice." And she said, "I can't read your minds!" So, a lot of us left the line and went elsewhere. read more

Being from Jersey, I get excited when I see a place that reminds me of something I'd find back home. Table Talk is one of those places. If i was rating solely on the food I'd give this place 3 stars. The first time Mrs. P and I went we sat at the bar to eat. It was a bit early on a weekday morning and the place was pretty empty. I had corned beef hash with eggs, grits, and toast. I don't remember what Mrs. P had except she got home fries instead of grits. I was happy with the hash because I couldn't quite tell for sure if it was canned or not. I was pretty sure it was from a can but it got some help from whatever else was cooking on the flattop in the kitchen that morning. Even though we were one of 2 tables our server had, she wasn't as attentive as she could have been. The coffee was great. The second time we went was a Sunday around noon. I ordered the pancakes with a side of bacon. Mrs. P had a western omelet with home fries again. My dish came with 3 but I only needed one pancake. I cut my pancakes up completely before I eat them and these pancakes were so dense that all of the syrup i poured on them was quickly absorbed. The bacon was great for my tastes; nice and crispy. Mrs. P's omelet was ok but this time, her home fries sucked. They were a bit cold and definitely not as flavorful as they were last time. Our server, this time, was great but the coffee was not so great. A big plus was their common sense approach to the busy hours. When we arrived that Sunday, there were 2 couples ahead of us in line and the place was packed! We figured it'd be a good 20-30 minute wait for a table but our party of 3 (Mrs. P's sister was with us) was seated immediately. I love that they won't seat 2 people at a table for 4. That's one of the things that pushed Table Talk to 4 stars in my book. That, and the little taste of home I get when I'm there. Plus it's VERY reasonably priced. If they were a little more consistent with the quality of their food, they might fit in nicely in a small town in South Jersey...definitely not North Jersey quality but, good enough :-) read more

I live about a block from Table Talk, so it's extremely convenient. With that being said, however, I doubt I'll ever go back... My boyfriend and I went to Table Talk for breakfast one Saturday morning. We were there pretty early, so we didn't have to wait for a table. My boyfriend ordered a mushroom omelet with grits and I ordered a mushroom omelet with potatoes. We got our food fairly quickly, so no complaints there. However, I took one bite out of my omelet and discovered I was served a sausage (yuck!) omelet. I'm not a vegetarian, but I definitely don't eat beef or pork, so I was quite repulsed by the waitress' error. What was even worse was by the time the waitress came back around again, my boyfriend had completely finished his entire meal (yes, it took her that long to check on us!). When I finally received the mushroom omelet that I originally ordered, I was not impressed. It was greasy, almost tasteless, and just "bleh." The potatoes were decent, though. The prices are good, but the food isn't. I understand that this place is an Alexandria institution, but there are definitely better breakfast/brunch/lunch restaurants in the area. read more

We went for breakfast on a Friday, on the early side. Friendly service, solid (albeit smallish) menu, and perfectly poached eggs. The pancakes were fluffy, the grits were FINE, the coffee was good, and we'd definitely go back for a no-nonsense, affordable meal. Bonus: This place is apparently frequented by local politicos. I felt like I was at a diner in Bensonhurst, but the men were more genteel and wore less black. read more

I have driven by this restaurant so many times and I finally checked it out today for brunch. It wasn't what I expected in the best way possible. The decor is so intriguing with copper accents on the kitchen doors, lattice on the walls and beautiful Tiffany lights. The food was very good and was a fair price. We got the steak and eggs, pancakes with bacon and the egg and bacon sandwich. They have a full bar, so we also indulged in a Bloody Mary and mimosa. The service was friendly and fast. Our waitress was attentive and funny. It was a great experience overall and am looking forward to going back soon. read more

I've been here several times for lunch and breakfast and was inclined to give this place a three star rating. That all changed the last time I went there and my girlfriend had one of their mushroom omelets. The mushrooms were clearly from a can and the cheese wasn't even melted, it was just kind of blobs in the omelet. I just don't find that acceptable for a place to use canned food like that, especially for one of the main things in the omelet. The place has a nice atmosphere, the managers are nice and chatty and the food is fairly cheap. The staff isn't that great and is only adequate at best. On the whole the food is average with the above exception and breakfast seems to be better than lunch. I might go back but it certainly won't be in a hurry and it's only because it's so cheap and close to where I live and work. read more

So we finally meet, Table Talk. After driving by this restaurant repeatedly for the past two years, I finally made it a point to stop and eat here. It ended up being for brunch, but it's a start. I like it that this place has a really big parking lot in the back, something that is hard to find near the Old Town area of Alexandria. The inside of the place is full of light and plants, giving it a cute garden-y feel. The hostess takes no names, rather, the guests have to form a line out the door and get seated as the tables open up. We didn't wait very long, however, and my party of three was seated fairly quickly. The brunch fare is pretty standard, with a wide array of eggs, omelets and pancakes. Also, scrapple, for the adventurous I suppose. Go ahead. Try it. I got an egg white Greek omelet with a side of home fries. I liked the addition of the feta cheese, it was a nice variation from the usual omelets I get at other places. The coffee, by the way, was great! As we went to the cash register to settle the bill, we were taken care of by a very nice manager, the owner? I don't know who he was but he was in such a great mood and went out of his way to make conversation with each of us and to be nice that he ended our meal on a high note. All in all a good experience. I'm glad I finally decided to give Table Talk a try. read more

Always in search of a great breakfast, I was very hopeful that Table Talk would be my new go-to in Alexandria. On my first visit I got french toast that was made with basic white bread, and bacon that could be by Smithfield, and mildly murky generic coffee. Nothing special, nothing memorable, and quite a wait (20+ minutes) to get a spot on a Sunday. My second visit, (I'm surprised I even went again, but was needing a quick inexpensive spot to meet a friend) I again ordered the unmemorable french toast, only this time mine came with HAIR IN IT. What's worse, the waitress only shrugged, offered a lukewarm apology, and brought me another plate of french toast. This SECOND order also had a hair in it. I was disgusted, and declined to finish. What's worse, when I was presented the bill, they kept the french toast on my tab. Honestly, I can make WAY better hairless french toast at home, and I don't need to go to Table Talk to sit among the old folks and drink watered down hour-old Folgers. I'll NEVER go to Table Talk again. Save yourself the trouble! read more

We happened upon this place from our nearby hotel. The service was fast and friendly. We opted for breakfast sandwiches and they were good. I got my on a bagel which was fresh. A couple more mimosas and we were set. The coffee was hot and fresh made. We would come back if we stayed in the area again. read more

Mom and pop shop dinersaur (RAWWWR!) This place is ol' skool. If you hate cookie-cutter restaurants like I do, then this is a great option at the West end of Old Town. The menu is simple like you would expect out of a 1980s diner. Nothing is bad, but nothing will leave you saying, WOW that was amazing either. The restaurant is quaint, the kind of place where you can get to know the waitstaff if you're a regular customer. Or even if you're an irregular customer. They won't judge. Most recently I went right at Sunday brunch (busiest time of the week), so the service was less than par for the place. If you want to park, you will likely end up a block or two away, as there's rarely a spot. The prices are still good, but not as good as they once were. If I could give 3.5 stars I would. But I'll go ahead and round up. read more

As far as diner breakfasts go, I wasn't impressed. I ordered eggs and potatoes and coffee. Everything was just okay - the potatoes were more like french fries, I prefer a more traditional homefry. My boyfriend ordered an omelet and he said it was fine, but it had a slice of cheese melted on the top... a pet peeve. Who wants to see a processed cheese slice on top of their omelet? When we wanted to leave we had to track down a server to tell our server that we needed our check. Overall it was alright, but I wouldn't recommend it or go there again for breakfast. read more

Table Talk is, as I understand it, a more or less Alexandria institution. That is, every local knows about it and has waited in line for breakfast at least once, and knows at least one of the monochromatic Slavic wait staff by name. T.T. is very competent at breakfast. Eggs are more or less cooked to order, stringy bacon or tasty frozen sausage patties (the one time I will ever forgive frozen sausage), decent seasoned potatoes (with lots of raw onions, if you're into that sort of thing--I pick 'em out). I like coming here for a reliably decent cheap breakfast that is 1/4 step above the iHops and other generic breakfast spots, and only mildly more expensive. Slightly better than most, and you know the staff are being paid marginally above minimum wage. CAVEAT: NEVER come here for any meal besides breakfast. The empty lunchtime seats tell me I'm not the only one with that opinion. I ordered the meatloaf with potatoes and gravy... the meatloaf may have been good, but the massive slab and instant potatoes were covered with the same generic brown gravy you'll find in the supermarket next to packets of "white gravy," "french onion soup," and "guacamole mix." One of the few meals I couldn't finish. read more

The food here is fairly good. I would recommend skipping the roast turkey, but I'm a big fan of the roast chicken (Wednesdays only), the salisbury steak, and the meatloaf. The omelettes are a good bet too. Entrees generally come with your choice of vegetables and a roll. I was really disappointed on my last visit to see that they had switched out their old rolls for some newer ones - they used to serve up fresh crusty ones, and the new ones are a little lackluster...hoping they decide to change that back haha. Table Talk used to be head and shoulders above the rest of the lunch options in the area. After they changed ownership, prices went up and now the value is more in line with the rest of the places around. Anyway, it's a diner. There's a parking lot on the side which is pretty unusual (in a good way!) for Old Town though it can fill up on weekends, and there's a bar and plenty of tables inside. Don't go here expecting anything fancy, but it's decent for casual, reasonable diner food. read more

Really good breakfast and cheap! I hit up Table Talk about once and month, and it is a really good place to grab a tasty, no frills breakfast. This isn't a place with four types of benedict or bellinis in flutes. Instead, Table Talk is an old fashioned mom and pop type place (it isn't quite a diner like Bob and Edith's) that is a local treasure. I've enjoyed omelets, french toast, and basic egg and meat breakfast plates, and I'm looking forward to having a few of their breakfast sandwiches. The only item that I wasn't too crazy about were the pancakes... something just seemed off. The poor showing from the pancakes is probably keeping me from giving Table Talk its fifth star. Nonetheless, I'm still a fan and will be going back often. As Raul G. indicated, its near the King Street metro, so if you're planning on tooling around Old Town, consider starting your day here. read more

This is such an amazing breakfast spot!! We come here mainly for breakfast but they also have lunch and dinner menu. Their food is very fresh and customer service is outstanding. Love it and would definitely recommend it!! PS - French toast are the best here!! read more

I live right by Table Talk and I always saw the place packed in the morning and for brunch so I've been wanting to give it a try for a couple of months now. My girlfriend and I went in on a Sunday morning and were really excited about the prospect of a diner breakfast. When we got our food, we were a little let down, the food was just OK. With the line always what it is, we expected better. When she got her omelet we found that they used American cheese, and my 'short stack' pancakes were good but not nearly the same as my grandmother's. However, they were more than happy to take the omelet back when we told them we didn't want cheese and brought us a fresh omelet really quick. The waitress was nice but the manager was very friendly at checkout and very forthcoming with potential afternoon activities. I think we will go back again for sure but we may just try something off of the lunch menu next time. read more

Table Talk is a perfectly average diner-esque restaurant specializing in the pre-3pm crowd that is ruined by its terrible location and parking lot. Do not bother coming here during typical brunch/breakfast hours on the weekend - or federal holidays. It seems to be a favorite with local federal employees on their days off. The service is not particularly interested in improving your experience, but they get the job done in a very business like fashion. The coffee is Folgers, but it's hot and it's refilled constantly. The menu is varied and quite reasonably priced. They poach eggs well, which is often a stupidly difficult thing to find at a breakfast place. If you're looking for an eggs and breakfast meat meal with endless coffee and a good atmosphere in which to catch up with an old friend or just nurse the first few hours of a hangover, Table Talk will get the job done. Walk if you can, or park across Duke Street. Getting in and out of their lot is a headache. read more

While I was walking in I noticed some people having the breakfast dishes and they seemed way more appetizing than what I and my coworkers ordered. I had the spaghetti and veal cutlet for my dish. The spaghetti was about a minute short of al dente and the sauce clearly came out of a glass bottle after sitting on the shelf for a few weeks. It was eight dollars though so I can't really be surprised. And at eight dollars, there's no way that was really veal. Table Talk isn't bad. It's also not good. read more

This place was just okay for lunch. I had the hot corned beef on toasted wheat bread with lettuce and tomato. It also came with potato chips on the side. The sandwich was edible, but nothing special. Not like what you would get at a good Jewish deli. I have been here for breakfast and it was much better. The omelettes are tasty. Service was excellent, as the waitress refilled my water on a regular basis and followed up with us to make sure we were satisfied. There is plenty of parking in the lot, so no need to worry about street parking. I'll come here for breakfast again, but probably not for lunch. read more

Table Talk - American Near Me - Alexandria, Virginia

Visited this morning for breakfast and our first time here. Really excellent service from an attentive staff. Our coffee cups were never less than half full. Breakfast for 3 of us was $37 before gratuity. The portions were quite large. The hashbrowns were excellent. Sausage gravy was very tasty, though it had a little spice/kick to it. Restaurant has its own parking lot which is really nice in this part of Alexandria. I think it was the owner who was also visiting tables - very personable and made some funny jokes. For us, this was a great spot with fantastic service, homemade food cooked well, and a pretty good value. I would not hesitate to come back. read more

I was in the area one Saturday morning and I used my mobile Yelp for breakfast spots and this is where I landed!! The line was out the door so that was agood sign. Table Talk is another of those little places that does a few things well, to the point that they don't really have to do anything else. What I come here for: Breakfast, sometimes lunch. What I like: Straightforward simple breakfast fare. Consistently good. Nothing fancy/smancy. What I don't like: 1) Once in a blue moon I wait a bit too long for a coffee refill. 2) Parking. They can't really help it, but parking is tight; the spaces are narrow in order to get as many cars in back there as possible. At least they make the line-crossing scafflaws move their cars if they don't get it between the lines. What ya gonna do? What you won't find here: So much sodium in your food that you shake for 4 hours after you're done eating, like at other well known silver sided places or big red-roofed breakfast establishments. Breakfast & Lunch is the drive here. On weekend mornings it's packed; plan on getting there close to opening or thereabouts in order not to wait, or not get in at all. Heck, sometimes the weekday mornings are packed. I love the sidewalk window seats - sorta frenchie-american, looking out onto the flowers hanging and growing outside. The food is standard but good -- you won't find Felix the wonder chef turning eggs & bacon into a Food Network TV show. The menu is an easy, and petite, 2-page affair. Won't take long for you to work your way through it. But you don't have to fear that when you start back at the beginning you'll get something different next go around. Oh yeah -- the price is right. It's definitely right (which is to say, cheap!) I think the other bad reviewers are expecting too much. This is a simple place dishing simple, good food. It's been here ever since I moved to DC over 25 years ago. Obviously there are a host of folks out there quite happy enough to return often, just like me. read more

I was surprised to see that Table Talk only had 3 stars! I am pretty sure I tried this place the first time based on yelp reviews!! This is a great place for breakfast!! We have come here a few times and never been disappointed. The pancakes are sooo buttery delicious....yummmmmm. read more

This is my absolute favorite place to go on the weekends for breakfast. The home fries are delicious and the service is always great. I've never had a bad time there and look forward to the Sunday mornings that we decide to go! We usually have no trouble finding a parking spot (someone always seems to be leaving when we arrive). And now with my new small car, it should be even easier! The wait is never really that long and whenever we have people visit us from home... we take them here!! read more

Well I waited too long to leave feedback about this tucked away Alexandria gem of a restaurant. Table talk is excellent choice for lunch and likely breakfast as well. We are luncheon fans. Service is superior, pricing very reasonable, and the food simply delicious. I'm a cheese Burger fan ... Table Talk is right up there with In and Out Burger. Why go to California when you can enjoy it in Alexandria. Then there is the BLT, tuna salad platter and my wife's favorite melted cheese and tomato. Take my recommendation and enjoy. read more

Came here for a quick breakfast before heading to DC. First we were seated right by the window with the sun hitting our eyes, so we asked to be moved. No big deal, but no one told our waitress so it took a while for her to notice us. After that, she was not very attentive. We had to flag down others when we needed coffee refills. Both of our breakfasts were messed up. I ordered a bacon, mushroom and cheese omelet. Didn't get the mushrooms... Friend ordered wheat toast and ended up with white. Again, both not big deals, but still annoying especially since our waitress didn't come back to check on us until well after we were both done eating. We did point the mistakes out to her and she took off the charge for the mushrooms. Also, I was not a fan of the potatoes. To me, they had a strange after taste. The omelette was pretty good though. read more

This place has Midwest written all over it. The decor is straight up 1980s, which made me nostalgic actually. Sunlight floods the room, and there's green stained glass chandeliers hanging around. The bar is kitsch, but again, reminds you of a Midwest sit down family-owned restaurant where they gave you free bread & butter (no bread at this one though). The whole place is a throwback to bad decor, but reminds you of growing up in that decade (aka 1980s). Food is alright, exactly what you'd expect from a diner/family owned place. Had the chicken salad BLT on rye and it was huge. Complete with pickle and chips. I'm giving it the 4th star for nostalgia. read more

Finally! Laura V. gets in touch with Table Talk! Seriously, I've been driving by this place for like 6 years and always say, "I so NEED to try that place for breakfast." But, let's face it, I work during the week and on weekends, I'm not awake much before noon. Needless to say, my mom is in town and we finally rolled out of bed on a Sunday morning to give Table Talk a try. OH BOY! It was good. We were seated right away and instantly welcomed by a nice young gal (OMG - am I 62 or 33? Who calls them "nice young gals" at my age? I digress as usual...) My mom gets coffee and I get a hot chocolate. My mom casually commented that the coffee wasn't very warm. Well, little did we know that the owner was sitting right at the bar - next to our table - and he got up and got my mom a fresh cup of coffee. My hot chocolate was perfect! Nice and chocolatey, rich and creamy. Of course, I drank it all in about two gulps. For breakfast, I had the two eggs (scrambled), home fries and toast. The eggs were wonderful, the home fries super tasty and I can't remember the last time I've had buttered wheat toast with grape jelly. This was a great American breakfast! My mom had the french toast. Now I need to tell you something about my mom. She's taller than me (like 5'10) and is like a size 2. She eats like a bird. My mom ate the entire plate of french toast. That is saying something right there. Usually, she'll eat like 2 pieces and be full. She ate the ENTIRE platter, plus two sausage patties. I tasted the french toast and it was perfect. Not soggy, little crunchy bits on the edges, little cinnamony. It was good. This breakfast was definitely a success. Our service was fast and courteous, and it was definitely inexpensive. I've heard that they'll be tearing the building down soon to make way for (yet another) condo/office building/mixed-use whatever whatever. This makes me sad, but I'm so glad I had a chance to give this place a try. If you're on Duke St., at 8:00am on a Sunday, stop by Table Talk. You will get a great breakfast. Side Note: We noticed that they had a full bar. Like seriously full bar with all kinds of liquor. One can only assume that they like to break out the hard stuff at lunch time since the place is only open until 2:00pm. Might be fun sometime.... read more

Cute little breakfast joint near Old Town Alexandria! Pros Great location across from the Whole Foods on the other side of the King Street Metro Fast, friendly service Great standard breakfast fare LOW prices Cons Very popular and crowded on weekends so get there early to snag a parking space in their small lot (and so you don't have to wait long for a table in their non-existent waiting area). read more

The people were really nice but the food was soso. I will say the food came out super duper quick!

Cheap, tasty food. Took my pops here on a Saturday morning. Was fairly crowded but they seated us within minutes. Short menu, bottomless coffee. Waitresses were all nice. Got the greek omlette and a short stake of pancakes to split. Both were delicious as were the homefries. The pancakes are a real highlight, they taste homemade and I bet the ingredient list for them is less than 4 items long. Flour, eggs, purple. read more

This place has great old school food with old school prices! The breakfast menu is my favorite - the omelettes are huge and stuffed to the brim with ur choice of fillings. Most breakfast items served with delicious breakfast potatoes. Lunch is just as wonderful. Today I had the Rueben Sandwich (which I've had several times before) with fries and it was only $7. You can't beat that! Everything I have tried has been great and cheap!
