Came in mid March on a weekday for their 3-5pm happy hour. Was attracted to the great deals, $8 pints, 50% off pizzas and $18 alpine fondue. We got the lamb sausage pizza with medjool dates and spicy tomato sauce, highly recommend!! I love salty and a bit of spice with sweet. Pizzas are about $11-$13 during happy hour, super worth it. I have never tried fondue so I couldn't pass up the opportunity. I thought the fondue was thinner and would be made with a sharper cheese. For $18, I would skip this. Perhaps their $65 fondue set with cheese and chocolate is made better. It's not in the main village in Whistler so you do need to drive over to the golf course. Really lovely little bistro with a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. The outdoor patio seating was perfect to enjoy the summer weather. The menu consists of your typical American or coastal cuisine - burgers, fries, tacos, tuna tataki. I ordered a Greeks salad with grilled shrimp on top. My dad ordered the burger. Both were pretty good, nothing amazing. Burger slightly overcooked and one of my shrimps was slightly undercooked. Otherwise, it was perfect for a light lunch and to enjoy the scenery. We noticed this restaurant during our hike around the lake, the area is gorgeous and the restaurant is quite large with indoor and outdoor seating and it has a great view. I ordered the deluxe burger which comes with fries and the fish and chips. Overall we liked the food, it's s bit on the pricy side but so it's everything else in Whistler. Something to improve: I was impressed how our waitress memorized all six orders, I was expecting her to take some notes but no need; however this did not work well as 3 out of 6 orders came out wrong. read more

We came here for dinner after a long day of skiing at Whistler. It's a short drive from the village and tucked in a golf course at the end of a residential area. I went for the burger while my fiancée went for the pork belly risotto. Burger was a good size and super juicy. I think they mentioned it was Alberta beef. Fries were also nice and crispy but with enough fluffiness inside. We also ended the night with some chocolate fondue. We were stuffed already so we just got one portion and shared between the two of us. We fortunately came early enough to get a table on the patio where we saw the planes landing on the lake and golfers doing their best! We orderer drinks to start and settled in splitting the vegan pole bowl and agadashi tofu. The waitress told us we could split the bowl for $4 more and they would bulk it up and put them in 2 different bowls! The poke had so much flavour and components. Avocado and edamame and perfectly seasoned rice! The bowl was huge and so filling! Each bite was a different combo of foods! Amazing! The tofu was also super flavourful and not greasy! My friend ordered the Caesar salad and it came with fresh shaved parm and pancheta! She was in heaven. Came here while my friends and I were visiting Whistler. The view of the lake is amazing and is a great place to take a after dinner stroll. Our table shared the parm fries which were delicious and I ordered the salmon for my entree. The salmon was nicely cooked and came with a side of charred corn, shrimp and salad. After long day at the Bike Park we decided to give Table 19 a try. It has good ambiance and the location is good. Unfortunately that is the most i can say for the place. The service was horrendous. Our server brought us water, took our order and then disappeared. This is not an exaggeration, we did not see her again until we recieved the bill. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food, and then when the food was delivered they forgot one of the meals. The kitchen staff delivered the food and then they dissappeared. We waited and waited for the last meal to appear, and nothing. We were finally forced to track down a different server who went to check on the food. Turns out the absent server who took our order forgot to put in the order. A manager then came to the table and said they would rush the order and that it would be compted. Then after the food arrived, she disappeared. We ran out of water, tried to find someone, but to no avail. Long after we finished our food and long after our water was gone, presto, our original server appeared. When she brought the bill, she hadnt taken the cost of the lost meal off the bill, only discounted it. After some discussion she did take it off the bill. Mistakes happen, and the manager who helped us with the lost meal was courteous. With that said, the total lack of service was awful. Given the cost of just average food, and the horrible service, you would be smart to avoid Table 19. read more

My bf and I were craving some nachos for dinner so we came here on a Friday evening during our mini getaway to Whistler. Very modern and clean restaurant. Nachos: It was served in a pan skillet which we thought was super neat. It looked amazing and tasted great at first but as we kept nomming away, we were disappointed. The top layer was warm and the cheese were melted but underneath it all, the cheese were still shredded and the chips were cold. How on earth are we supposed to eat the cheese? Scoop it with a fork? It wouldn't be nachos then. My favorite part outside is that being a golf club restaurant everyone is invited dressed as they are. That says a lot about an establishment specially in that market. Beautiful sunny day on a pretty patio, with great view of Green Lake and the golf course. Restaurant was busy outside, but almost empty inside. We had a friend from the UK and wanted to take her to a nice Whistler lunch. We placed our lunch orders, and enjoyed the ambiance. However, we noticed tables seated after us received their meals while we still were nursing our drinks. Our waitress eventually came to say our lunches would be out "soon"., but 20 more minutes and no lunch. ... we asked her why our lunches were so delayed compared to other tables - it had been 1.5 hours!! Her excuse was that the kitchen was busy (then why did several tables of later arrivals get their lunches before us). She then offered and brought one (salad) plate size of fries to "tide (the 5 of) us over". Another waitress then asked to take the ketchup to another table. We offered to trade for our lunch orders. Another member of our group was so frustrated, he went to speak to the manager. Our orders weren't complicated and there weren't any variations to the menu. The food finally arrived and was pretty good (thus the one star). Our waitress finally admitted she messed up our order. But by this time, we just wanted to eat and leave. Food is at very reasonable price so are the drinks. The wait for the sits even with a reservation and when there's barely anyone was a bit long. The staffs are mostly friendly and the waitress that served my table and a couple others on the patio was very friendly and paid attention to details and made us feel really comfortable. The food itself is good some are better some are fine but nothing too fancy or unique. My favourite would be the cocktails and the the summer heat burger. The sesame chicken egg noodle was a big heavy flavoured for my mom and my liking but it's nice, the chicken is okay. Very nice view though! read more

Not sure why the average reviews but we really love this eatery at the Nicklaus North golf club. Best outdoor patio in whistler with a view of Green Lake and the golf course. Food has always been consistent and the service is generally solid, albeit sometimes slow. Great place to stop and eat while biking on the Valley Trail. Here was the spread: Salmon Beef Short rib Salad Seasoned vegetables Truffle Mac 'n Cheese Dessert (mini creme brulee, creme fraiche) Of these, the beef short rib was the highlight of the meal- I had at least 4 cuts of meat, while I heard someone else managed to down 9 slices. Hey there, Best deal in town!!! This place is a hidden gem. Great service and attention, and the food is delicious. It is not over priced like all the other restaurants in the village. We went there the week before christmas 12/(2011) after seeing an advertisement from a brochure we obtained from the condo we were staying at near Lost Lake. After researching the venue online, we decided to go for happy hour after a day of skiing. So why the five stars? Well, for starters they pick you up at your hotel and take you (and back) complimentary. Make the appointment a day ahead of time and reconfirm. So, they sent a driver to the condo and picked us up for the 10-15 minute drive. Once we arrived, we noticed that the restaurant was on the edge of a lake/golf course. It was nicely decorated and elegant. They have a bar section with several plasma Tv's and separate section for dinning. It was not too dark or bright. Just right. We arrived around 5pm and the place was busy but not too crowded or noisy like many restaurants in the village. It was definitely a romantic place. We had drinks (pint of Granville beer is $4.50) and ordered from the happy hour menu. All appetizer plates were half-off. The wings were fabulous - tasty and meaty. The nachos are awesome. Huge!!! It had chorizo on the them and were freshly made, no out-of-the-bag tortilla chips. The burgers were also yummy. Fresh and locally grown. Need I say more? Overall, this place was romantic and the service was attentive. The food is delicious and affordable (but, I would have paid full-price). I will definitely go back again, and I hope you do. Our family has come to Table Nineteen a few times through the years for fondue, and we looked forward to another fun time. We were sad to find out that the meat fondue had been eliminated, so a "three course fondue dinner" consisted of a salad course, cheese fondue, and chocolate fondue. Strangely, we were told that the meat fondue was eliminated because of "concerns about cooking raw meat and seafood at the table, with possible cross-contamination" (a public health issue?), but our server said it was removed because "those hot pots of broth were dangerous to carry, and there were some injuries" (an employee safety issue, or maybe even a legal liability?). The mixed messages just added to the disappointment. But we're here with a reservation, so we checked out the rest of the menu which turned out to be okay but nothing particularly special. Steak, steelhead, risotto, salads. We won't drive back for that alone. Our server was patient and appropriately attentive. Whatever the reason it went away, with the full multi-course fondue absent, we'll be absent as well from here on. read more

I have lived here for 18 years and in the past have always enjoyed going out here, but tonight's service was by far the worst experience I have ever had eating out. We had ordered a fondue special for two, there was eight of us. And the vegetables they provided on a plate were two broccoli, two cauliflower, about six thinly sliced carrots and about six nugget sized small potatoes. All was cold and was as though they just pulled it out of a fridge. It was terrible. This was an amount of food provided for four people our waitress said. We were pretty shocked as you couldn't even have a broccoli per person. She was offended with our questioning. But it was all for due reason. How could you not ask, "how many is this meant to serve?" We ordered more vegetables and she returned stating, "would you like more bread, it's free." It was a rather condescending comment that a server with proper experience in etiquette should not express. We had asked the waitress for our other bottle of wine and she rolled her eyes stating that she had served us all our wine. We all spoke up explaining what was served. She came back stating that she was mistaken with another table. At the end of our dinner, a person at our table asked for the menu as there was very little food served. She was delivered the menu. Then our server showed up with our bills. It was incredibly strange. She had not asked if we would like to order anything else, she didn't ask us if we were ready for our bill, nor did she ask us how we would like it? We all work within Whistler at Front Desk, Reservations, Restaurant, Museum, Law etc and one of the members at our table was so shocked when she just showed up with our bill that she laughed. I asked her to carry on with what she was saying and others at the table were still conversing and the waitress ignored me, and was quiet and I repeated again, "please carry on with what you were saying." She waited until everyone at the table was quiet. It was so weird. Her name was Vendula. She was Czech Republic, we also had two people from the Czech at our table. We were a table from all over the world. Germany, Mexico, Asia and Canadian as well we all felt that the service from this woman was horrendous. I don't know if she was having a bad day? But I don't want her serving me again at Nicklaus North or anywhere else for that matter. It was by far the worst service and lack of etiquette in serving in my life. She needs to pursue a career in another field. This one is definitely not for her. To add, I'm not sure if she was rude from the beginning, due to the fact that there's an automatic 18% gratuity added to your bill when you're a group. So she could have cared less about how she was to treat us, her grats were coming to her. I'm rather happy that the laws are going to change and that servers will be paying their due taxes on the income they make because she sure didn't work for it. By the way, our meal all together was around $250. Which didn't cover a veggie per person. I could have provided more food doing a fondue at home, which I will be more than happy to next time. read more

What a great way to end the day in Whistler. Laid back. Eating on a patio looking out at a magnificent British Columbia vista. The drinks were well made. The steak and salmon were very tasty (be aware that the patio has a more limited dinner menu; more like upscale pub food). It would have killed an elderly person. Service was horrible and our waitress abandoned us and the other servers couldn't find her. The other servers ignored us even though we made eye contact. We had been there previously and the service was bad then too. To top it off, I've been trying for months to get a refund which they said they would give for just the sandwich $12 and not the entire meal of $26, but they have not given us any refund despite multiple refunds. In this case we were a table of 8 and we ordered two of their cheese fondues as shared starters. The first one arrived after about 10 minutes. But then we waited another 30 minutes for the second one. Apparently the kitchen didn't notice that the order quantity was two. We live nearby and enjoy having a restaurant within walking distance so keep going back. About half of the time there is an issue that warrants feedback to the supervisor. The typical response is copious apologies and a small credit on the bill. We'd much rather they'd stop over apologizing and fix the management problems that are behind their frequent errors. If you go, lower your expectations to avoid disappointment. read more

The service - we had to go and get our own water after about 15 minutes of our glasses being empty and waited for our meal for quite long time. Definitely the service needs an upgrade. I have gone to this establishment recently and had high hopes due to the hype that I read online and being from out of town that's all I had to go off of. Upon arrival we were told there was a 45 minute wait. After further notice there was tons of room inside of which after asking we were immediately seated. When we were brought water, I noticed rings of black mold on the inside of the water container and lid. I was intrigued on the prime rib special of the day, but the waitress had no idea on the size and then I was told all of them come medium rare (which obviously isn't true). Lastly throughout my hour and half dining experience I saw my waitress maybe 4 times that I had to get her attention twice to come and switch our water. The last thing that really pushed me over the edge was that several waitresses are wearing booty shorts with a collared shirts. Best secret in town! I have gone to the Den for social and business luncheons/dinners and have never been dissappointed. Food and service is always industry best and their venue perfect! Whether you want a 5 star dining room experience, a quick beer and nachos or fondu and a sleigh ride: you will always come away with a great experience. I have even brought large parties there (over 20 people) and each time the compliments get better and better. Locals knowledge: 1) There is NO better place to catch a Canucks game! Food and drink specials are the best in Whistler and the atmosphere is great. In fact last year during the Canucks' playoff run, the patrons were all standing up singing O'Canada along with the crowd at the arena. What an atmosphere! 2) Friday night is Prime Rib night. We head in to this place all the time to watch the Canucks games as they pick us up and drop us off for free! The $3 off all burgers and $4.25 pints are money too (Canuck game nights). The Moroccan lamb and bison burgers are my favorites but I have tried them all and think the Den actually has the best burgers in town (sorry Splitz). Great relaxed atmosphere where you can hang out in comfy chairs watching one of the 6 TVs rather than getting stuck in a corner without a view like in some other spots in town. To me though all this is a given and I didn't review the Den before because it is mine and my buddies secret and we don't want it getting too full!!! But..... we went there last week for a friends birthday as all the restaurants in town were packed and we sat in the restaurant rather than the lounge. It was quite possibly the best meal and service I have experienced for the price point in Whistler during the 10 years I have been here! A solid a la carte menu, a number of daily specials and great wine recommendations catered to the different budgets and tastes of all our crew.
