We've stopped in for dinner multiple times and so far the food is amazing! Pizza, pastas, burgers, wings and more! Service has also been on point and has made us feel welcomed. When we walked in, the restaurant and bar made us feel like we were in Tuscany. The owner paid a lot attention to the Italian Vibe. The service was amazing. Our waitress was very attentive, even though she was busy. The food was amazing. We had calamari appetizers, I had the Italian chopped salad and my husband had the shrimp Scampi. He noticed the green onions instead of parsley, it was a very good substitute. We are visiting the area and its our first time at Table 59. Food tasted very processed and frozen. We started off with the Calamari which tasted very chewy and under seasoned. To start off our entree's the tomato basil soup tasted very off and simply just like regular tomato soup. The entree's which consisted cheese stuffed ravioli and shrimp scampi were both over watery and hard to eat. The salad was also very dry and the salad itself tasted old. They are celebrating their 3 year anniversary. Nicely decorated with multiple booths that offer privacy ideal for conversation. Would order the spinach salad again (next time with grilled shrimp or chicken); it fresh and the dressing was delicious! We also ordered the calzone, freshly made dough with generous filling (we brought home half. Was disappointed in the fish n chips; batter was more bread based; the fish inside was tasty. Unfortunately the fries were limp. Regarding service, we arrived at 4:30 when the restaurant wasn't too busy and left at 6 due to the very slow inefficient service. Went there today to celebrate my brothers graduation and Mother's Day and was surprised at the ambiance, service and food. The decor and aesthetic was very chic and represented the Italian American food they serve. The service was top notch and catered to all our needs. My Alfredo was so rich that just a little bit made me feel so full. I barely touched my food because I felt like I was going to explode already. After our meal, my boyfriend and his bestfriend ordered tiramisu, which tasted like they were store bought and served there for a much higher price. We loved that Negra Modelo was available, since most restaurants don't carry it, and we liked that they're open until 9pm (we made the trip from Los Banos). The previous spot of Dicicco's wasn't terrible but not sure what this restaurant is trying to accomplish? If Diciccos didn't survive why create the exact same type of restaurant? The spinach artichoke dip was a disaster of nacho cheese, chopped up pepperoni and barely any artichoke or spinach. Served with small crostini already soaked with butter. Probably one of the worst appetizers I've ever had and $11?? The bbq chicken pizza seemed to be frozen pizza crust and possibly frozen toppings. The chicken Marsala was very basic with your standard packaged Marsala cream sauce and steamed broccoli side. I asked for mashed potatoes instead of fettuccini Alfredo... super salty. Italian food has so much potential with fresh flavors and fresh traditional Italian ingredients but sadly you won't find any of those here. I really wish restaurants in Merced would work on the lighting. Every single restaurant has harsh bright lighting like you're dining in a hospital cafeteria. We ordered a Cobb salad, the UC Merced burger, the shrimp scampi, and the chicken Alfredo pasta for our family of four. Everything was delightful and the portions were generous. The waiting time was too long, had to remind server of an additional plate I ordered. One of the plates I ordered, came cold and when I asked if it was possible to just microwave it (I didn't mind if they couldn't, would've eaten it cold) the waiter then proceeded to tell me they had trashed the whole meal and where making me another. By the time the plate was finished being remade the rest of the table had finished eating, to which I asked it to be packaged to go.
