Date Night with the wife! I always enjoy kid free dining! It just means we can go some where nice! So I have been watching this place for a while and just haven't had the opportunity to try it. So now that I have here are my thoughts. The restaurant itself is in a hotel. The place was clean and the staff friendly. So we ordered several appetizers because we like food, and when you only get a nice restaurant every 4-6 weeks we want to try as much as we can. First up! Bone Marrow and Escargot... the presentation of this dish was nice. I personally think it came with to much bread compared to the number of escargot. The marrow was rendered nicely and escargot was cooked well. I hate when you get chewy ones! Beef Tartare- was very tender and had the nice acid from the capers. Served with homemade chips (I cheated and had 2) very well presented Tuna Poke- loved the flavor of the glaze on the fish. My only knock on this dish was we had a few pieces with little tendons on them which cause them to be chewy and unable to swallow. Other than that every other piece melted in my mouth. On to dinner- I know right! How are we still hungry. We were! So I ordered the sea scallops and pork belly(Keto friendly) scallops were cooked perfectly and the sauce that was drizzled over them was tasty. The pork belly was tender yet had been fried and had that crispy crunch on the exterior. My wife had the San Fran cioppino with squid ink pasta. I was jealous! The broth was amazing and had a depth of flavor you don't get very often. She almost licked the bowl clean. The shrimp I stole a bite of was cooked perfectly. So I skipped desert, but amazingly my wife had more room! She ordered the cream cheese ice cream with an apple crumble. I have to say the bite I stole was great, only critique would have been to cook the apples a little longer so they have a softer more caramelized texture. I do hope we can come back soon. read more

From the cocktail to the dining, Table 28 was phenomenal. Our waitstaff Serenity was informative and kind. The food was exceptional, the marrow; served open on the bone was delicious, the beef carpaccio so excellent we ordered two. Food tasted horrible! Table of 4 and three of us left greatly disappointed. Got the lamb ($50) which was hard as a rock and overcooked. My wife got the chicken saltimbocca ($36) and every bite was a different taste and texture. I don't mind paying a higher price for good food but a Saturday night service this was one of the worst meals I've literally eaten at a restaurant. Our experience was okay. We had a few small issues with service, the deep fryer, and breads. The service started great but our server took a fifteen minute hiatus from us at the wrong time and we were left with empty plates and glasses for some time before the extended wrap up visits. But he was very congenial and obliging. The Cowboy hummus has nice subtle flavors and, I believe, the right amount of black eyed peas mixed in. but the bread slices were from puffy, fluffy "French bread" (not even a decent quality baguette). We had the Quail Lollies, which were abysmal - breading balls with bits of quail deep fried way past doneness to dark dark brown. They were too hard to cut open with moderate pressure. And fried soo long as to have Zero flavor remaining. The mushrooms were great in flavor, a bit swimming in the butter though. Accompanied by fried slice of more cheap (possibly steamed), soft, fluffy bread. For our entrees the duck curry was fantastic on all accounts. Fresh ingredients were apparent and possibly better than local Indian restaurants. The chicken parm was also deep fried to a dark brown as to render the breast tough and dry after five minutes at the table. However the marinara and mozzarella were excellent. The was probably not enough creamy rice for most people, after finding it hiding under the giant, thin chicken, but it was good. The arugula looked warm and lifeless but was probably crisp within the last 24 hours. Overall, the flavors were all very good and balanced; favoring traditional savory palates. However the deep fried foods were cooked too long, and had no flavor. The plating was lazy and haphazard, with components flowing over one another making for a very sloppy appearance. When heaped into a trough-like pasta bowl any food will look like it's just new bachelor fare. read more

Do not let the fact that this place is in a hotel pit you off. I mean it would likely attract more folks in a freestanding building but the food is where the magic is here. Also to say thatbuve been here three times and I consider this review a conglomerate of all three experiences. The service is prompt and courteous The bar area if you are dining alone is not a bad option The app with the cheese and meats is a great shareable. We split it into two boards for ease of sharing. Venison sausage, deer jerky, home made andouille, pickled vegetables and several sauces including a sesame seed sauce adorn the board Their beef burger is famous and quite filling. Juicy meat and generous supply of fries On my third visit the ginger fried chick was disappointing (dry breading, bland chicken) but on other visits it has been very well prepared with light crisp breading and juicy meat. Incredible experience!!! Table 28 is a hidden gem In West Little Rock. I selfishly don't want to post so it stays the quaint, hide gem that we love. I want to honor this wonderful place. Scott Raines, executive chef, is just amazing. We started with the quail lollies because I just can't eat here without those. We then had the pork cheek, also amazing, the wedge salad was delicious. Our entree was the Beef Tournedos Rossini and it was one of the most flavorful dishes I've ever eaten. Of course we always finish with the sticky toffee cake because it's perfect in every way! Their cocktails are so super impressive. Bartender, Coco, makes incredible cocktails. We had the Grand Bizarre and the Paloma but I bet they are all incredible! I failed to get our waiters name but he was outstanding, very professional and served us with class and elegance. A Michelin Star experience in our opinion. Also, the new manager is fun & vibrant! This is one of my favorite fine dining restaurants in Little Rock! Hidden in a nice hotel, the restaurant is well decorated, with indoor, patio, and bar seating. I have been here for happy hour, for desserts, and now, for our first dinner out since COVID. Table 28 was the perfect choice. The wait staff wore gloves and face masks, and we felt very comfortable. We sat outside by the poolside (plenty of social distancing), and had a great view of the sunset. The tasting menu is superb (and only $35!!), and the food is delicious (as evidenced by the photos)!! Their desserts are heavenly and must not be skipped. Only critique is that the cocktails are small for the price! Overall, I highly recommend and am so glad they are open again! read more

My husband and I came to Little Rock for our 25th wedding anniversary and stayed the hotel. We were going to go out to somewhere fancy for dinner till we saw Table 28. We loved it! I saw that Table 28 was having Vegan Nights this week only, so I had to try it out. I purposely refrained from eating junk food all day so that my belly was empty and ready to receive all things plant based and let me tell you, Table 28 did not disappoint. The food was absolutely amazing! You get a starter and your choice of three courses from the special menu. The first selection was a choice of Gumbo or Vegetable Ceviche. I chose the Gumbo. It was so good. Any meat eater would have devoured the gumbo, especially if you love mushrooms. The second selection was a choice of Southern Tamales or Vegetable Spaghetti. I had the vegetable spaghetti. It was spaghetti squash, spiraled zucchini, and carrots. The sauce was very good. It was filled with capers and black olives. I'm not a fan of capers, but they worked well in this dish. Dessert was my absolute favorite part of the meal; that's only because I love sweets. The cake tasted like an upside down coconut/pineapple cake. It was divine. The little cookie crisps on the side were bomb!! If you love coconut, this is the dessert for you. I couldn't help being nosey, but the lady behind me ordered the strawberry pie and it looked pretty doggone good too. I don't think I would have gone wrong with that choice either. Vegan Nights at Table 28 is a must try for vegan and non vegans. I will be here every time Vegan Nights roll around.w read more

Went last night for the first time and really loved my dish. Had the pork jowls with cheese grits and blistered shishito peppers as well as the corn and chorizo side dish. I could have licked my plate clean. The texture of the pork was terrific - gal apart tender with a crispy well seasoned bark. Just delicious My friend had the duck with vanilla sweet potatoes and subbed crispy Brussels sprouts for the cabbage in the set and enjoyed it thoroughly. Several other dishes caught my eye, too, so a return visits are definitely planned. Desserts were just ok. Service was fine. It wasn't too busy but given the pandemic I'm sure they were short staffed. She was very knowledgeable about the menu which made my choice easy. Honestly, I teetered on the line of 4 or 5 stars, but I don't like to get too caught up on some sort of rating. However, I know people take the darn stars seriously, so 5 stars it is. Why though? Well, apparently this is one of the best restaurants in Little Rock. In a hotel nonetheless. So that intrigued me, and we gave the happy hour a try. Solid, solid choice! It runs Monday through Friday from 4-6:30pm, and you can sit in the nice atrium, at the bar, or on the patio. You can find the menu online; you'll see the food prices are better than the drink prices, but I absolutely enjoyed everything I got. Those duck wings were delicious, and my Mai Tai was awesome. I will definitely return the next time I'm in Little Rock, perhaps for dinner; the fixed menu looks pretty solid and is only $35 a person. read more

I highly recommend the burrata and tomato- it looks like there is a whole tomato on the plate but you get perfect slices to spread the cheese on. We wouldn't usually go for meatloaf, but we've heard so many good things about it, and it was flavorful and moist. I personally loved the brussels sprouts, which had a nice crunch and were well seasoned. We also received complimentary hummus and bread which aren't pictured. The atmosphere is dark and romantic. It was pretty empty, but that's to be expected on a Sunday night. We were seated right across from the bar, and because they weren't busy, the bartenders just kinda stared at us the whole time, so that was a little awkward. We did make reservations before and let them know it was our anniversary, but they didn't do anything special (like a dessert). Don't get me wrong. The food is good quality and flavorful, but it's just a little off as far as expectations go. For example: the risotto isn't risotto by any standard, but it's still tasty for what it is. Chicken lollipop gives you an image of a tender chunk of meat resting on the end of a well manicured bone, and what you get is ground chicken on a stick(essentially chicken kofta), which tasted pretty good, but was not exactly what one would call chicken lollipop. That's how most of the menu went: tasty food that was not exactly what you were expecting. It's like these guys were trying to unnecessarily reinvent the wheel. The ambience was a bit... odd... but that never matters much to me. I would go back to try a few more of their menu items, but I'd be lying if I said that I wasn't a bit disappointed with the things I ordered on this first visit. Service was fabulous, and they noticed that we weren't as happy as they had anticipated, so they were very receptive to feedback about the menu. It seems a small enough operation that they might listen and care. A neighboring diner had the meatloaf, which looked amazing, and will be the next thing I order when I get back that way. Please, please please... if you're going to put classic items on your menu, don't venture too far outside of expectations. read more

Of first and last visit to Table 28. The food was mediocre at best. My wedge salad was not a wedge of lettuce but lettuce leaves with dressing. Not bad, but not a wedge salad. The mushrooms were oily and the tuna tacos were off and we didn't dare to eat them. Service was fair but did not listen to our order, for example no onions on the salad. read more
