I been going to this bakery since the 80's when they were in sterling department store downtown. My favorites were the cowboy cookies #1 only place I've seen them but they are so inconsistent with the cookie a lot of days they over cooked, went today they look like thick like coffee cakes I go often sometimes twice a day thinking they will have new batch but that's not offten. And the lemon squares are the same always old look like someone been poking on them. I at one time it's under new ownership, whatever going on they definitely not the same I grew up on. I popped in to the Rodney Parham location today, had seen them listed in one of those 'Best Of' magazine articles about Little Rock. OMG, they did not disappoint! I had a frittata, and it was THE BEST frittata I've ever had, and I've tried frittatas at LITERALLY every restaurant I've ever been to. I bought every one they had left! Everyone was fabulously nice and very knowledgeable about their products. I cannot wait to go back and try weekend morning biscuits and gravy. if you haven't been to Community Bakery, you GOTTA go. Absolutely awesome. Arrived just after the opened and everyone was just so friendly. Mrs. K. wasn't up for breakfast, so I enjoyed their "Ciabatta" which is a breakfast sandwich with sausage and egg and cheese and spinach and tomato. A quick dab of some hot sauce and it went from five stars to six stars. My hot coffee was hot and perfectly caffeinated to last the rest of the day. But the standout? The chai tea. Mrs. K. pronounced it the very best chai tea that she has ever had. Just the right amount of cinnamon dust on top of the roamed milk with a nicely spicy and creamy hot tea underneath. It was amazing. Kind of a let down because I'd heard good things. We got a couple of seasonal coffee drinks- one was overly sweet, one was just bland. The apple cinnamon roll looked great, but was raw in the middle so inedible (didn't realize until eating it after we left). Got the build your own Sammy Very good..but they don't tell you how much each piece is to add.... So ours was $8.+ $11.+ for croissants , sausage, cheese and one with avocado. Basic Sammy with croissant, bacon egg and cheese is $6+ so why so much up to switch out bacon for sausage? And sausages was tinyyyyy. Good but pricey. Unfortunately, my positive perception took a sharp turn due to one glaring issue: cleanliness. [[HIGHLIGHT]]During a visit yesterday, I was craving one of their petit fours--until I noticed flies crawling around inside the display case, and directly on top of the cookies and pastries.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Disturbingly, the staff behind the counter seemed oblivious to this unsanitary situation. I reluctantly settled for the turkey panini, hoping the food prep area in the back was held to a higher standard. The sandwich, once again, was excellent--if you can manage to put aside the nagging concerns about hygiene. I returned this evening hoping it was a one-off experience. I hesitated to place an order, hoping someone else would help me. But no one else came. To their credit, the employee did put on gloves before boxing my order--but only after handling the box liner with unwashed hands. I want to give this place a 4.5 stars! Community does everything great! They are a staple in the community. My favorite treats are their petit fours and their birthday cakes. Yellow sheet cake with white icing is simple but to die for and definitely the best I've had in Arkansas. Their service is also top notch. I went to community bakery on Main Street and I ordered petit fors and cupcakes and cookies and all of it was hard dried out and old. I complained and came back the following day and at 11 and the same was there with more added. I spoke with the manager Heather abt it and she was rude very push off like she wanted me to just go and and I've never experienced that rudeness ever at that location and been coming for years and my deceased mother and family has worked there years ago. It was awful and the manager Heather has a rude attitude and didn't even get rid of the old stuff just walked off and resumed so rudely. But a worker took them out and said she would be putting fresh ones in there no thanks to the manager Heather. Check your receipt also because the girl from the evening before overcharged me by a couple of dollars as well. read more

I stumbled across Community Bakery when I was visiting this past weekend. I got an iced caramel macchiato and the goat cheese turkey panini and both were fantastic. I bought some Christmas tree cookies and a lemon clamshell as well. The cookies were amazing and the cake was still delicious and moist days later. Every worker I interacted with was super nice. I'm originally from Arkansas but live in Ohio. Normally stop here for French silk pie. Stopped here yesterday around 6pm just for the pie. My 3 daughters wanted about $20 in cookies and pastries. Last thing I requested was my slice of pie. They told me I couldn't have a slice but had to purchase the entire pie. my husband ordered a cake for my 30th birthday. it was supposed to be lemon with lemon curd and strawberries. at first glance it turned out cute. he had a little ball of yarn and crochet hook added which was adorable but then i noticed that they misspelled my name. frustrating but not a huge deal. until we cut into the cake... the cake had 3 layers with no frosting in between. 2 layers were off white and one was bright yellow (yellow on the bottom, not like stripes). the frosting was thick and dense and tasted only like powdered sugar. the layers of not-lemon curd and smuckers strawberry jelly were very thin and you couldn't taste them. the frosting was PEELING off of the cake. maybe we caught them on a bad day but i'm not willing to drop $110 on another completely inedible hunk of garbage again. my husbands emails concerning a refund were ignored and he had to call twice to get them to agree to give us our money back. read more

Never, ever again ... the order online software is worthless and the folks who are downloading the data from said software apparently don't know how to count... when someone orders three of one item for pickup at the WLR location at midnight and only one of said items shows up.. you have a problem.. order was ready for pickup at requested time, but notification that the order was ready for pickup came 90 minutes later - and AFTER the order had been picked up... Further, community kept the money for not fulfilled order with no offer at pickup to issue a credit... terrible way to do business, would like to believe this is an isolated incident, but this is the third year in a row that we've experienced some kind of service issue with community... we will not try it again. Editing my review as the owner responded almost immediately to my initial review- the only complaint I'd had was completely addressed. I love the food from community bakery, and it's literally just down the street from me, the drive through is convenient. They stay busy during peak hours for a good reason, you really can't go wrong with anything on their menu. I'm a fan of their breakfast sandwiches, biscuits and gravy, smoothies, coffee drinks and baked goods (try a pop tart). They have indoor and outdoor seating with very much a neighborhood feel and if you're from Little Rock, you might run into someone you know. If you're in from out of town, this is great place for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack- they have takeout and delivery available via the toast app. read more

Excellent place for lunch and baked goods. There's pretty much any baked good you could ever think of, and it was all delicious. The reason it isn't getting more stars is for service. The man who took my order got it wrong 2 times. And then I watched him pick up a pastry and put it back into the case when I told him it was wrong. Ladies who were making lunch also took forever.
