Kilwins Stopped by for a sweet treat and got the arkansas river mud (360 cal/scoop): velvety vanilla-flavored ice cream with an explosion of chocolate chips, swirled with rich caramel. Nice workers, generous scoops, and really good ice cream overall. Tasted like an advanced cookies and cream with a hint of caramel running through it. Sweet, creamy, and perfect for a hot day. Would definitely come back for another scoop. read more

We stopped in at this small sweet shop and it was so great. Very organized and clean. I got the caramel apple with peanuts for $7.99. The hubby got the toffee almond crunch for $32.99 a lbs and a small square coat him about $5. The two young ladies were cordial. read more

Let's start with the best thing we ate, the fudge tops the list!!! It was creamy, rich and decadent all the things fudge should be and more! We went nutso literally and bought up a variety of candy treats from peanut butter cups to chocolate covered oreos and rice crispy treats to dipped and smothered pretzel sticks. All of it was outstanding with great customer service. They also offer hand scooped ice cream cones which were popular as well. read more

This is our first time trying this place and being here in Little Rock for the first time. We saw the review and proximity from our hotel, so we decided to check it out. The location is nice, but the service is bad. The 2 female staff scooping ice creams were not patience or accommodating. As first time customers, we felt rushed that we cannot think what we really wanted is because all they kept saying was, "Is that it?". It felt like they were rushing us urgently so they can go back to their chit chatting or conversation. We needed to put in another order but one of the girls went to the register and started ringing us, and when we said we got 1 more order, they gave us a look of inconvenience that we added more on the order. We're definitely not coming back not because of the food, but the people chosen to serve their products. The staffs forget sometimes that they are the face of the company and providing excellent customer service is part of what you deliver on this type of business. read more

Really cute chocolate shop. They make their cones fresh. Huge chocolate and caramel apples that looked like works of art. Ice cream selection is small. They do offer samples. I had the raspberry sorbet. It was very nice. My husband had a scoop of mint, chocolate chip and a scoop of cappuccino ice cream he said it was good. Gluten allergies. Could have an issue here because the chocolate has soy in it and the ice creams use flavorings and they weren't sure what the delivery systems for the flavorings were. read more

Don't believe the hype??????? Blue bunny ice cream I can buy at Walgreens Walmart CVS what??? I read google and Yelp reviews thinking I was walking into something special. Nope! Blue Bunny ice cream in five gallon buckets. This is a tourist attraction of beautiful trinkets.... it is in need of a cleaning and fresh new design but I want to say due to heavy traffic ... this all started with me reading reviews of top ten places to eat ice cream .... I wish it was a true of being top ten ...but not spectacular ice cream just wonderful blue bunny in buckets which I love above Blue bell I wish I wish I didn't drive miles looking for this ...thought it was homemade specially. I recently discovered Kilwins! The ice cream is phenomenal here. We don't have a lot of good ice cream in Little Rock, aside from Loblolly & Cold Stone. Kilwins is my favorite ice cream in town! They also have super tasty Toffee & Chocolate Turtles. I can stop when I get going there. I have never been disappointed. My favorite flavors so far are vanilla & butter pecan. read more

BEWARE: As we sat outside the sweet shop, we had people harass us three separate times asking for money; one even made a grab for my wife's purse!! Did not feel safe. It's almost like they wait for people to sit down at the tables and then move in. This shop is right next to a secluded alleyway. Location: 1-star Food and Service: 5-stars I love Kilwins. We also went to one in Highland, NC. This time I had a chocolate covered rice krispy and a chocolate covered Oreo. Both were delicious. Didn't last long enough to grab a photo. Stopped in for some ice cream to help cool us down on a hot and humid Saturday evening. Little spot across from the River Market, one of the few places to get dessert treats in this area. They don't have Kilwins in California, so it was a first for all of us. They have ice cream, candies apples, and all kinds of candies. Adequately staffed for a busy Saturday near the river, there were about 7 teens working. Tyler helped us with our ice cream order, a shake (they only have 1 size) and 2 kid scoops. A funny/memorable moment: my youngest daughter wanted to sample their fudgie brownie flavor. I picked her up so she could grab the sample spoon from Tyler, but instead, she just tasted the ice cream as he was holding the spoon. Tyler could've easily been grossed out or thought it was rude of my daughter, but he laughed it off and said it was ok and that he found it funny. He was so helpful and courteous the entire time, and rang up our order at the end. We managed to snag the only bench inside the shop, located near the door, facing the area where they make waffle cones. While we were reading a sign on the wall about where they have locations, the young lady making cones overhead us and asked if we were from the area. We told her we had just moved from California and then told us a couple things to do in the area. While the prices are on the high side, I kept the 5th star for the amazing customer service. If this spot were bigger, it could easily be a nice hangout spot for ice cream/desserts in the evening. Definitely coming back whenever we're hanging out in the area. read more

Some of the best ice cream I've had in a while. Good and creamy. Got the pralines n cream and butter pecan. They have REAL butter pecan ice cream, the tan kind lol. Way too much ice cream in one serving. I will be getting the kid size next time. Definitely recommended! read more

Oh my. What a lovely treat this turned out to be. My husband and I were visiting family and friends in Little Rock last weekend, but got a chance to walk around downtown for a bit one afternoon. Had a bit of a craving, and thought we'd see what bakeries were nearby. Then spotted a little sign that mentioned chocolate, and figured we'd check that out instead. Glad we did. Everything here is made from original recipes dating back to the 1940s. We had dark chocolate peanut clusters, crunchy toffee, cherry cordials, peanut butter cups and a rice krispie turtle bar. And everything was amazing. You can tell they use fine, quality ingredients. I wish I could've tried more things, but you know how it is. I'm sure these aren't diet. There are stores all over the U.S., but I can only vouch for this one. Top notch chocolate. Also, they make several varieties of fudge, caramel apples and brittle on site - freshest of the fresh. I highly recommend stopping in to pick up a few treats. You won't regret it. read more

We tried Kilwins for the first time in Hot Springs on our last trip to Arkansas, and liked it, so we treated ourselves before heading back to our hotel which was down the block. Not as good this time around, sadly. One of us got a small scoop of cookie dough and the other got some cookies and cream. Both were fine, but tasted more like something that you'd get out of the freezer aisle in a supermarket. Our daughter got some rainbow Superman concoction thing, and she loved it, so at the end of the day, that's what makes us happy. This was pretty much our last stop for food in LR, and we're sad to report that we only had three star dining experiences on this trip. We still had a wonderful mini-vacation and a good time everywhere, but maybe Arkansas restaurants do better with fewer crowds in the winter. Who knows... read more

She took a bite of the little pie as soon as we got in the car -- let me tell you it was awful. The lemon did not taste at all lemony. It tasted mostly of chemicals. When I got home, I ate the cupcake and the cupcake itself was dry and barely edible. The frosting was some unknown concoction that tasted of chemicals also. My sister told me this morning that she ate more stuff when she got home and she has been sick all night and still today. I googled Dempsey and it says that Paula Dempsey sold the bakery to Friendly Bakery. They did the remodel and I am assuming the food was also "remodeled." I'm sure it was a "money" thing because that is what big business always does -- look at the bottom line. I am so disappointed. I used to go there for lunch when I worked downtown but I know for sure, I won't be going back. I did not select "service" or "ambiance" as noted above. I didn't find anything wrong with either.
